So I looked up Agile
Agile guitars are very fitting to what you want to archieve, aswell as the munky sig. But on agile guitars you pay less for the name, that is sure. And you don't really need active pickups to archieve an biting distortion. Maybe for death metal you would prefer it, but it's all just taste  Which tuning do you plan to go? Music style? Djenty? :coffee:
I love that feeling you get when you write a killer-sounding riff.
I hate the feeling when you get back to it 2 days later and realize that it's sloppy as hell. [editline]06:09AM[/editline]
Is that even possible without having some strings break and some ridiculously flappy? [editline]09:34PM[/editline] So I've been looking at 7-strings recently. At first I looked up the 7 string version of the Schecter I was previously considering, but then realized that I'd have to either buy a seven with actives or replace the passives with bareknuckles or SDs, since I suspect that the stock Schecetr 'buckers aren't nearly as hot as I would like for the type of music I'd play with a seven. Then I looked up Ibanez, but the only good seven without a trem(I hate FLs) is the RGA7, which has fucked up electronics(pickups driven by two AAs)that would be a bitch to change to EMGs, plus I'm not a fan of Ibanez necks. Too flat. So I looked up Agile, who I hear make very good guitars at a reasonable price. They seem really good - I could get a trem-less superstrat seven with neck-thru-body for less than 700$. The thing is, my desired feature combination doesn't seem to be available. What I want is basically this in natural or red and with a rosewood fretboard. Now they also have this which is pretty close but in white...Now I've always liked the look of white guitars, but I'm afraid I'd get bored of it and/or look like a christcore fag while palying it. Do you know if they would take a custom order like that? Or is there some other brand I should know about?
I have a Schecter Blackjack C-7 ATX and the Blackouts sound amazing. String-thru also.
You learn how to play scales.
:) I know... Some...
My bridge pick isn't emitting sound but the other pick ups are fine. What could this mean?
The bridge pick-up is broken?
Loose connections probably
I got my new GRG270 now, but whenever I try to tune one string, the others 'untune' themselves. I'm not much for all this guitar technical stuff, anyone know why?
My bridge pick isn't emitting sound but the other pick ups are fine. What could this mean?
Check the height.

This keeps the tension equal across the bridge, instead of it building up towards the high or low end. I tune mine in this order: E e A B D G You might also want to tune them very slighty sharp to compensate for the bridge moving as you tune.

[editline]03:14PM[/editline] Anyhow, the strings sound REALLY metallic when I hit them with my pick, should I get new ones?
Thank you helpful guy! [editline]03:14PM[/editline] Anyhow, the strings sound REALLY metallic when I hit them with my pick, should I get new ones?
Boost your mids and call it djent
Anyhow, the strings sound REALLY metallic when I hit them with my pick, should I get new ones?
New strings do that a lot, use them and break them in a bit and it should fade pretty quickly. Getting new strings of your choice and putting them in is never a bad idea though.
I guess you have an Edge III I have one too, it should be like that, not "sinked" Since I've placed my tremolo like that, I've broken a lot less strings, the guitar is easier to play, etc...
Oh nice. I prefer how it is however.
To me, floating bridges are just more trouble than they're worth.
If I was ordering from agile I'd be buying an 8 string
Okay, it's fucking annoying to tune down to drop D, seriously. [editline]08:55PM[/editline] This guitar took me 15 minutes to tune and it still sounds a bit off

[editline]08:55PM[/editline] This guitar took me 15 minutes to tune and it still sounds a bit off
Part of it's also the strings stretching, unless the unit itself is just bad. When I first got mine it couldn't stay in tune for very long even if I didn't really use the tremelo. I forgot where I read it, but yeah, take it, tune it, whammy the fuck out of the strings, tune it again, repeat the process. They'll eventually hold better after they get stretched.
I forgot where I read it, but yeah, take it, tune it, whammy the fuck out of the strings, tune it again, repeat the process.
But that's what takes so fuckin' long
Yeah, but after a while it'll actually hold and you can whammy freely. Unless it's a bad unit.
To me, floating bridges are just more trouble than they're worth.
I guess I'd agree because most of the time you don't use it but really blocking it makes it a non-issue for almost nothing and having something like a Tremelno to let you switch on the fly is sweet.
Hypno said that It seems reasonable And also if you think Drop D is annoying you just suck real badly at tuning
And also if you think Drop D is annoying you just suck real badly at tuning
If you have an edge 3 tremolo it's annoying [editline]09:39PM[/editline] The fine tuning is at least [editline]09:56PM[/editline] Fuck yeah, thanks guys. Now I understand perfectly why and how I'm supposed to tune.

Now I understand perfectly why and how I'm supposed to tune.
IT IS, sorry didn't think clearly there Oh and, thanks a lot for the helpful comments on sevens, but I have decided to not go for the Agile. 650$ plus transatlantic shipping for a guitar without warranty that I don't really want? Fuck that. A new contestant has been found though - the Schecter Damien Elite 7 CR. It seems really nice, good Schecter neck, string-through-body, EMG 81-7/85-7s(that I might switch for a Blackout/707 combo if I don't like it), nice finish and pretty cool inlays. My only complaint about it is the bolt-on neck, but I'm not entirely sure exactly how much that matters..? My shitty Ibanez has a bolt on and the sustain sucks balls, but then again that's a shitty Ibanez we're talking about. Then there's the LTD MH-417 BLKS. This one seems pretty awesome actually, it has about the same features - EMG 81-7/707s(meaning if i want to swap pups I'd only have to swap the neck pup), string-through-body. And a neck-thru-body design, which is a huge plus in by book. The only real downside on this one is the looks. Standard black satin finish, looks nice and clean, but not very interesting. Still better than gloss black though. So, any owners of any of the two guitars here? Anything would be helpful :v: EDIT: Schecter Damien Elite 7 CR LTD MH-417 BLKS

I say go for the LTD
And also if you think Drop D is annoying you just suck real badly at tuning
I felt like him once.. That's why I bought one of these.
I have no trouble tuning to drop D with my Les Paul Special II, but with this new that has a tremolo and all that jazz, shit just got harder.
Ok guys, I'm after an acoustic I can carry around with me whilst camping or just out and about. I want it to be good enough that I will still be inclined to play it at home too. Any ideas?
