Who wants to make a thread for an group effort track? I could make whole songs by myself but it would be damn cooler if we do some long track together, all styles mixed in parts!
It sounds interesting, and I could offer a lot (sequencing, synths for all parts, organ VSTis, piano VSTis, drums through Superior and various acoustic sample sets as well as basic drum machine sets, my bass, Trilogy Bass, Vienna Symphonic samples in Gplayer or Kontakt 3, EWQL Orchestral, Miroslav Philharmonik, iZotope and T-Racks plugins, Adobe Audition, potentially vocals, etc.), but I've already kinda pledged myself to multiple other projects and college has me fairly busy right now. I'd follow it, but I can't say I'd have a chance to participate. There's also the issue of what exactly you're playing.
But I could probably "acquire" some recording software, but I'm not sure what to look for :v: Cubase maybe?
Cubase vs. FL Studio is a workflow choice, they're both more or less equally matched (if you're a legit owner equally because 9 and the 9.5 beta brought the feature sets pretty much even aside from small shit like notation, swing systems, how automation is handled, etc.)
Does it have anything close to Cubase's relatively new "Control room"? - That shit is useful where multiple monitoring systems are concerned, you can pretty much design an entire talkback system right in too. Last time I used FL was version 7 heh. I'm in for Bass guitar so long as the method is more structured than the past collab threads.
Does it have anything close to Cubase's relatively new "Control room"? - That shit is useful where multiple monitoring systems are concerned, you can pretty much design an entire talkback system right in too.
Uh...it has the same amount of sends and the same routing options as far as I'm aware so there's no difference for mixing and mastering. Regarding switching between multiple monitor sets I've got that control on my interface itself, not entirely sure why I'd want it to be handled by my DAW. Same for an intercom. I guess you might find that convenient, I'd never use it myself. Workflow choice.
I agree, can probably do it with sends and such. FLs inbuilt routing was always its strongpoint. Seems they are really pushing the full featured DAW setup now, that's neat.
Yeah it's pretty cool how it went from being just a sequencer with some nice features to a DAW that's fully comparable with the bigger names (especially since they do the free upgrades for life thing), though it's also kinda funny how just the drum machine bit hasn't really kept up. A wonder they still sell it separately. also why the fuck are you on that alt don't you have like a million unbanned other ones
I don't know why you should get cubase, my gear is : Prs mm baritone guitar Line 6 spider III 150 amp External soundcard (An old sb audigy built into my pc) Mxr 10 band EQ Mono set inbetween the line 6 line out and line in from my pc "Audacity" (Don't need anything else!) No more line in line out sound problems.
If there's still room I'd like to help on the collab :buddy: Gear: Ibanez RG7620 Squier Fat Strat Cort GB34A Bass Digitech RP250 w/ USB interface Audacity FL Studio Here's some examples of my songwriting and recording/mixing: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8586854 (All guitar parts recorded with my Ibanez (2 small sections are double tracked)) http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9373056 (All rhythm parts recorded with my Squier (double tracked), cleans done with my Ibanez)
I'd like to help with the collab as well. Gear: Limited Ed. Epiphone Les Paul 2010 Studio Deluxe Line 6 Spider IV (I know.) A rock band mic pressed up against my amp. Audacity.
also why the fuck are you on that alt don't you have like a million unbanned other ones
Only got one other one that is currently unbanned, Tezza1234... And I can't remember the password for it, I purged all my old unused email accounts a few days back so I can't recover it, blegh.
I might do it... Gear: Limited Ed. Epiphone Les Paul 2009 Studio Deluxe :smug: Peavy Vypir 15 Aucacity Line in cable
Line 6 Spider IV (I know.)
Nobody has a problem with those, der Dakenwaffler's using one isn't he? eh whatever Worst case scenario if you had more than one input and you guys had shit amps you could use the amp as a ref/monitor and get a clean going to your soundcard. Then just send it to somebody else to run through a VST modeler.
I might do it... Gear: Limited Ed. If I can rig up some sort of crazy recording rig I'm in. My gear: Yamaha TRBJP2 Custom built strat with Seymour Duncan humbuckers Ibanez RG7321 Line 6 Spider IV (My good amp isn't at my house) Fender Rumble 100w bass amp (Again, good amp is elsewhere) And if I find another $300 any time soon SX Ursa Jazz Bass
I am not sure I will help in this collab, but I'll list my specs anyways: ESP EX-401DX Guitar Marshall MG 250dfx TL-2 Pedal Zoom R16 Recording/switch board Amplitube 3 and Guitar Rig 4

Everyone is welcome aslong they can make their line in/mic signal/sound, sound hearable and enjoyable! Also everyone who is using an line 6 can simply use their line in because I do that myself and what you hear is good quality  Also you seem (if you have good recording quality) to be very useful as an equal, 6 string bass (needed to lay bass for deeper tones such as A or octaved chords because we might get some slap? Can you slap?) Such as sad/clean parts with your guitars. Everyone is useful, I am just quoting you because you seem outstanding!
My idea of this collab is to cover alot of genres, we just need to get the pieces together with a nice fitting change! Like I said "Up's and Down's" Just takes time for me to organize it and think of an layout, same for 2 threads one pre collab discussion and one collab thread with only content from everyone. We also need an midi written drum track in guitar pro5 (can do it myself but if people got ideas they should write them down and I try to make them fit or mix them) since it is the most easiest way to work with it, I can export it and play it through my drum setup same for recording on the midi track and everything with a metronom. We do this guys, just give me some time and stuff. I listen to all recordings when I am home! So keep posting on this subject if you want, all information will help and I save them down when I am home. We also need to choose positions of the participants, the more experience you have with recording your gear the more easy you are to handle/work with.
I wish I had some musical abillity so I could get in on this [editline]05:38PM[/editline] above poster is very talented [editline]05:39PM[/editline]
The wah on my Digitech Multi-fx unit is actaully really decent. It does a pretty great job with wah, whammy, acoustic modelling, and it handles delay, reverb, EQing and about 20 other useless effects that just sound cool. It also has amp modelling (with gain settings) but I personally think it's pretty weak in that area. With some decent mixing and mastering I can get some OK recordings out of it though. Just to give you an idea, this was recorded with nothing but my Ibanez RG7620, Digitech RP250, and PC with Audacity. No fancy mixing. http://www.mediafire.com/?583kqwa3qva13p5
That was awesome man, that looks like a sick pedal to buy [editline]05:40PM[/editline] When I go into music stores and see those pedals, I feel like a kid in a candystore or an ugly teenager in a music store, either way it sounds awesome
It's served me well for 5 years or so, but just be warned the distortion is pretty weak (it has a very digital sound), but everything else is great.
My distortion is weak as fuck, anything is better I play EVERYTHING on metal stack, it's the only decent tone. It's good for anything inbetween metal or rock depending on the combination of gain, bass, treble, mid and tone How much would that cost do ya reckon
The Digitech RP255 which superseded my RP250 has a RRP of $150, but you should be able to find one for a bit cheaper.
That sounds reasonable I've made a pact to myself that I'm not going to get new gear untill I don't compeltely suck at guitar, but in this case I actually need new effects. I am actually spending $140 bucks on a ticket to a show next week lol, but I'm going to save for that then. I'll go down to the local music store this week and play one and see what I think [editline]05:51PM[/editline] Thanks for the suggestion brosef
Besides contributing with a guitar solo, I could help with any midi programming or songwriting in general if you need that.
Woah, what's this about a collab or whatever?
Woah, what's this about a collab or whatever?
Read what the people are posting then you know
5+ pages is a lot to sort through, and I figured asking wouldn't hurt anyone any. But that's cool too I guess
5+ pages is a lot to sort through, and I figured asking wouldn't hurt anyone any. But that's cool too I guess
It started one page earlier  I am trying to organize an collaboration, the rest of the info is one page back!
i could always contribute as well gear: -fender custom shop strat with seymour duncan hot rails in bridge and neck -blackstar ht-5 combo -shure sm57 -Art tube mp mic pre amp and i use reaper to record im also getting a zoom g9.2tt soon.
It started one page earlier  I am trying to organize an collaboration, the rest of the info is one page back!
all I saw was "I'm in!" and figured searching through a bunch of new posts was going to get me nowhere but anyways, cool stuff.
Would there be any problems if I were to use a guitar wah on a bass?
Also you seem (if you have good recording quality) to be very useful as an equal, 6 string bass (needed to lay bass for deeper tones such as A or octaved chords because we might get some slap? Can anyone answer my question?
Can anyone answer my question?
I wish I could, but I am not really knowledgeable on hardware upgrades like that.
