Would there be any problems if I were to use a guitar wah on a bass?
Well, sort of. People say the low end will get cut. Read this: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-514062.html
I need the tabs for layla with eric and the dominoes, i need to fix the damn solo and I cant find the tabs with the correct solo for this version. anyone got it :)?
Do you mean Derek And The Dominoes - Layla By Eric Clapton? Here is Duane's Solo tab: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10823940/layla.pdf
Also I have a sh-4 jb in the bridge of my epi LP Deluxe and it's suppose to be a hot, hight output PU but it doesn't sound anything like it should, any suggestions?
Count me in as well, I got various basses.
Can anyone answer my question?
Sorry. I really can't tell you the dimensions of the parts myself, you could probably find out on the CTS website and asking Epiphone support for the dimensions on the part in whatever model you currently have. Otherwise ask the luth you intend on having do the replacement, he should be able to find that out. I've seen them being sold as direct replacements for Gibson LPs...but I'm not familiar enough with the Epi's parts to say whether they're too wide or not. As far as that humbucker is concerned I'd look to see if something hasn't gone awry with the wiring. Unless it was never hot, then I'd say there's either a problem with your setup (I mean, check your rig with another instrument), or maybe just a defective unit.
Well, since I don't want anything cut off, can anyone recommend me a decent bass wah pedal on a budget of less than £70?
Well, since I don't want anything cut off, can anyone recommend me a decent bass wah pedal on a budget of less than £70?
I have a wah pedal that goes all WERGWERGWERGWERG when I use it, but it's a bit more than 70 pounds. Mine goes as BERGABEEEEEERDBEREREGABEEEEEEPBERGEAWRG
Quit making me want a midi pedal controller so I can utilize the atrocious Guitar Rig wah.
man FUCK YOU [editline]10:35PM[/editline] the Crybaby From Hell one has 5 different frequencies to choose from
Would there be any problems if I were to use a guitar wah on a bass?
Won't have as much effect as a dedicated bass wah as they effect different frequency ranges. That's not to say it's a problem, it just sounds Different I use an Artec APW-7 or the one built into my ME-20B. I've not observed the "Loss of low end" effect myself with the bass switch disengaged, that probably varies.
I'm gonna buy some CTS premium pots for my epi Les Paul Deluxe, is it a good idea to replace the tone and the volume with the same pots and will I have to drill a bigger hole for the pots to fit? I've read a lot of things saying it requires you to drill the hole bigger to make it fit.
I just don't see a point to this question. If they're bigger than the pots you have, then simply drill a hole to match the diameter of the shaft on the pot. However, not having a proper set of drill bits could prove problematic; hope you have all the right tools.

The drill on the other hand is another story, you best hope you have a good drill in the house.
the only thing I'd use for that is a pillar drill
A drill press/pillar drill would be best, but buying for less than 10 holes is wasteful. Find someone with the tools and get it done right.
I feel sorry for anyone without a proper drill.
So do I but some people refuse to do any handiwork and their kids suffer because of it. Hell only in the past several years have we had any truly usable set of tools in the house aside from lawn tools.

You won't need to redrill for the right pots. If the CTS pots don't fit, order a set of Alpha's, those should. They're both equally well renowned quality wise and pretty much anything that CTS doesn't retrofit to, Alpha does. Also just go on the CTS website and see if they have Les Paul specific pots, since Gibson tends to be annoyingly "unique" in a lot of ways
forgive the fact that it's just random horrible shit I'm just testing the preamps (well all the analog components) on this mixer to make sure they can handle everything they can and yet the asio driver is a mild cunt and suddenly my bass is fret buzz central also since when did Amplitube sound like ass I'm kinda worried all of these modelers sound like spunk when you hear 'em on good cans, dedicated hardware excluded of course one would have to test a rackmount to know
Gibson tends to be annoyingly "unique" in a lot of ways
did you just say gibsons ride on the short bus
Could someone link me to some good tutorials on basic music theory? Things like chord progression, keys, basic scales and such.

ultimate-guitar.com [editline]12:18AM[/editline] But I'd go with a good like one of those idiot's guides because the issue with music theory is that people skip around and start learning more advanced stuff before learning the basics and then they get really confused.
Took my guitar to school today. I learnt a song for my girl and she was going to sing it, then she had a sore throat but don't you hate moments like these: "Play something we know! "I don't know anything you know." "Play Good Riddance then, everybody knows that song!" "I never learned Good Riddance by Green Day (I have but I don't need to explain why I refused to play it)" "I'll give you my ipod and you can play along with it by ear!" "You're suggesting I work out the notes in real time as I play with it, not going out of time and singing with it too? As easy as Good Riddance is, that's not going to happen, I won't even be able to hear the ipod over the guitar. How about you tell me some bands you like?" "Oh you know, Green Day, Kisschasy, Blink 182, stuff like that!" :downs:
