Just got this beast today, gonna get the cab hopefully on monday, doesn't matter seeing as I have to work like a motherfuck until monday.
Because the general mentality here seems to be that expensive gear and playing skill are intertwined. :banjo:
But going from a good amp to an amp modeler is a sidegrade, at best. More like a downgrade depending on just how good the amp is.

Good choice, played through my mate's Tiny Terror and it was awesome. The Dual Terror could only be more awesome.
Huh I misunderstood something, I was talking about record software (as in for tools) because why should I replace my amp.
Ah. But yeah, if Audacity works for you, stick with it. It's not like you're trying to do something that would require the features of the DAWs you're not using. Being mostly live and just recording yourself, you can get by with Audacity for pretty much everything except a good master (and you can probably do that in there, I'd just hate to try.)
No reason to get a better computer if you don't need it.
ibanez is a bit late to the whole "metal double neck guitar" thing

Ibanez just made one of my dream 7 string guitars
Why the hell did they have to attach another guitar to it

Think of it as a conjoined twin.

Good sir, I would like to kindly inform you that I am so incredibly envious such that the concept may not be transcribed into words.

they already make a 7 string xiphos
the xpt707fx
they already make a 7 string xiphos

It's not 27" scale though
Also if I'm not mistaken they stopped production of the XPT707.
Oh yes, someone else who likes the Xiphos series. That's the next electric guitar I want to get.
I don't see what you guys like about the Xiphos. I mean, I'm sure it plays really well but it's incredibly ugly in my opinion.
INCREDIBLY ugly.
To you they are, I like the way they look. I really don't like the look of Les Paul, but really my opinion about its looks don't matter.
I found a cool site called NoteFlight, basically it's just Guitar Pro online. You can share your compositions or look at the public ones to learn from them. Tabulatures are supported for guitar, the interface is nice and clean.
Only bad thing about it is that it uses Flash and sometimes freezes for a second or so.
But check it out.
Oh...single core, huh? That explains it.
Also I've never seen your drumset but I know I could afford what I could between my job and holidays, although I do get paid pretty well for retail work where I live.
Anyway...you might want to make your next investment a homebuilt PC or at least a mid-level pre-assembled desktop so you can run some better recording software. Audacity really is more of a mixer.
Thanks for replying, I can't buy another pc because I need to spend the money on a new ride cymbal and double bass drum pedal aswell as for new pickups for my guitar and an 5 string bass and amp! After that I am going to buy an new pc, sadly. I think I don't really need more than audacity (I wish I had an programm like audacity just with more fiddle faddle tools so I can jerk around with my instrumentals or little pieces)
You shouldn't need a new pc. I think your computer would work fine with a DAW as long as you aren't applying and heavy vst effects when recording.
I think Xiphoses are neat
I hate how my guitar tone sounds when recorded.
For those of you who have ever played through the amp and through your headphones, yeah that's how it sounds. I tried micing the amp up too(we had a cheap song mic in the garage) and running that through a bass amp but it was way too quiet...Thinking of getting a line 6 Pod or something.

Get an line 6 pod, great for home-recording.

Fuck me, yeah I'm getting one. What model to get?

The X3 looks good, but then I'll have to postpoe getting a new guitar
Oh well, I prioritize this higher

I don't know if you still need an good soundcard with the line 6 pod's, but if not then check the pod x3 and the LINE6 POD STUDIO UX2

I also fuck you.

Imo the Xiphos is probably the best looking 'extreme' shape guitar, not counting Vs as extreme shapes.
Well it's either the Xiphos or the Jackson Kelly Star, those are badass too:

It feels good to not be in the digital amplifiers anymore. Dare I say... Line 6....
I want to replace the pickups in my bass, a Tanglewood Rebel 4k, because I don't really like the tone, it's ok, but not really to my taste. I want to replace it with something with a Rickenbacker sort of tone, but I'm a bit weary, because of the different pickup layout. Thoughts?

Unfortunately the Rick tone is based on a lot of things, not just the pickup placement and type. Since Rick's are all maple and neckthrough it gives them a pretty unique tone, as does the stereo output. Unfortunately, RIck's are pretty much designed to be unique :v:
If you're not too attached to your bass you could look online for a used Tokai Rockinbetter, it's a pretty convincing clone, and while I haven't played one I've never had a problem with Tokai before
