Huh, from Dundee to Lake district and back it's about £50 and takes about 5 hours in total. I just might consider this but possibly not, the thought's there anyway. I'll wait for more details, I can't even book that far ahead anyway.

Checking thetrainline gives ticket prices at under 20 quid if thats any help for you.

i managed to find it cheaper to get two singles. I top out an £28. pretty good price if you ask me. If i got a return it would be twice as much.

I'm finding that travelling on the Saturday (24th) is a lot cheaper than the Sunday (25th). It's a difference of nearly £40 and would actually be cheaper to go first class on the Saturday. Infact I've found a situation where it's cheaper to transfer 3 times rather than 2 on the same trains. They'd be paying me to go from one city to another first then start the journey.

I hope there are buses, my friend is thinking of coming.

I'm driving down from Dundee, I might be able to help transport people from the train station to the campsite, I'll see. Won't be staying for the camp though, just a coincidence that I'll be down near the Lake District.
