I've read some reviews for the campsite, some people said that it's preferable to camp in the woodland part of the site because of the risk of waterlog on the field.

As long as there's a clearing in the trees (SUN!) then I think it's preferable too. Oh, and hopefully not 10 meters away from a spot where a family of 8 is going rampant.
