I would guess so, but they're only annoying when its quite warm/humid. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to take some insect repellent.
My tent has a little porch, so provided the wind isn't blowing into it, I can sit with it open quite happily in the rain
Do you get midges (or equivalent) in the lake district?
Yes, in abundance

Fun fact: Alot of insect repellents actually attract and kill when they land on you.
Fun fact 2: Avon skin so soft is a favoured midge/repellent amongst lorry drivers and scottish people. I shit you not.
Fun fact 3: Not washing and tea tree oil are moderately effective too.
Fun fact 4: The camp site has little baby goats

Dats bullshit and you know it.
Bengley wants to know how possible it would be to get a stream of the camp. Not necessarily a live stream, but maybe like a webcam or something. He would post this himself but he's currently watching a film with his mother, d'awwww
Easiest way is to take a macbook/laptop with a built in webcam and do a live stream using UStream or something.

Awwwwwww Bengley, that's so sweet <3

If anyone has a laptop and one of those mobile internet adapters it could work. How [del]good[/del] bad is network coverage in the lakes?
The coverage isn't good enough for any meaningful transfer of video. But come on, the idea of camping isn't to see how much electronics you can bring.
Just Qik on someone's phone would work. Three have decent enough coverage apparently. But data bills would suck.
I've got an iPhone with free 3G, just battery life is a bitch, and I dunno what apps there are for it, if any.
What is the youngest age aloud to go?
Five years of age.

There's no lower limit, but obviously we need to be sure that those under 16 have permission.
Well, I'm 16... In September. I have 7 days to get permission...
Well, 4 really...
There are no more spaces, you will have to come next year
Probably a good idea to bring that dingy, Bengley :v:
So who's going to go missing?
Will do
Weather forecast doesn't look good.
Monday 26th - Max Temp 16C // Min temp 9C // Rain Chance 60%
Northerly or westerly airflow will prevail for the next few days, bringing showers or longer spells of rain. There will be a risk of heavy rain at times accompanied by thunder. Daytime temperatures will become cooler towards the end of the week
As long as it's not like it every day. Besides, they can't really tell that far into the future. Weather changes.
