I have a pair of these. They aren't exactly very loud, but they are fairly reasonable when it comes to sound quality.

I guess it depends on where drivers are around that time. As said earlier in the thread I'm happy to give lifts, so yes, however there may be another driver with arrangements to be in the area or en route at the time, which would be more convenient since I'm probably already at the campsite.

I'm not sure about awkward, the majority have met at least one other person on the trip before, and even when I met a bunch of them in London it was hardly awkward, but you really will have the better weather and activity opportunities.
