On more relevant issues. By lake district are we going to find a pay per night camp site, or camp in the middle of the district?
It's hardly legal to just camp anywhere that seems free. Almost everything that isn't mountain or a public camp is farmland.
Oh shit, it's getting serious here. Too bad I'm in the states, I totally want to get in on this shit.
Not joking.
That's it.
Lads, form...
...the bro-ggernaut. *brofists collide*
Shut your word hole.

I guess we better get looking for a cheap campsite then.
I would love to come but alas, it is not in Chesapeake VA, or the USA for that matter.
Hopefully attending this, singing songs around a campfire with a guitar anyone?

I would prefer a rave, anyone have spotlights and shit?
NB. Wild Camping and The Law in England, Scotland and Wales.
Tents cannot be pitched just anywhere because every piece of Britain is owned by some individual or some organisation and according to the strict letter of the law permission must be obtained prior to pitching tent and camping.
In practice however, this is often impractical and wild camping is usually tolerated in the more remote areas - typically, more than half a day's walk from an official campsite.
For the sake of simplicity and fail protection, I would reccomend that we have no one under 16 and limit the number of under 18s. It's safer and less likely to fuck up. Sorry kids, but I personally don't want to held responsible for minors. "Yes yes yes blah blah blah you can look after yourself" etc etc.
But in the eyes of the law/your parents. Those of us over 18 are tasked with your safety whether we like it or not.

This, all's we need to find is some (contested or not)Common land. Somewhere that is remote and will not attract too much attention, this is why it would be a good idea to scout first.

Hexxeh, I'm pretty sure a sizeable part of the Lake District is a national park, and if it's anything like the National Park on Dartmoor, you CAN camp anywhere, you just can't stay in the same place for more than 2 nights and the park wardens reserve the right to move you on if they don't like you.

Judging by that logic, it seems you've narrowed down FP to a small, select few.
May actually consider coming along for this.

It would be safer, but a lot more shit. We'd be excluding a majority of facepunch from this. Bollocks to that, let them come if they want to / have the means to.
Count me in, I am definately up for this. I will let you know if anything comes up.
Don't limit the age
Slight change of situation. My tent is actually a six man, so there's one spot left for first poster to grab it.
Me? :)
Have a Texas meetup. in austin during ACL or SXSW

Hopefully we'll have some dates tomorrow. I'm also thinking about setting up some kind of paypal kitty to fund some camping equipment like stoves.

While this sounds like a good idea, wouldn't it just be easier to bring your own?
It wouldn't be necessary for more than one lot of cooking equipment.
Damnit. Give me a year or two and I'll be at one of these. Eventually.
Depends how many people have their own, we can't survive with just one or two stoves when they're gonna be around 10 of us.

It will be, every Duke of Edinburgh hike/practice hike we did, we had at least three and that was between 10 students. It will take ages to cook everyone's food if we have only one stove.
Just come prepared as if it's a festival
A shitty small tent for yourself
(men sharing tents is super homo)
Crap food for yourself
No point bringing a huge coolbox full of frozen shit
Booze for yourself
easy.
