its got a big padded camera area, and a huge laptop sleeve, and a big pocket thats big enough to hold a binder, plus a ton of other pockets
i bought it at a streetwear store out in the boonies, i had gone their before, when i was passing by after i sold my bike. I told him about how i just sold my bike to get a new camera, and so when i came in again, he remembered me and showed me this bag that had been sitting in the back storage, and offered it to me for $50 and they normally go for $130
i bought it becuase i think if i do some light travel, like a weekend in another city, i can fit everything i need in this bag, and safely, reducing bags and hassle.
i'm selling my chrome niko camera bag to a friend because its become a bit redundant.
I cram my 67, lens case, d60, grip and flash into a tiny Incase sling bag honestly a camera bag won't take a picture for you.
I use a 3 year old DC Shoes backpack that's nearing it's end. Just stuff some primes in the front compartment, fits real snug.
Before I started driving I used to ride my bike everywhere so I used the chrome niko messenger all the time. Before this, I used one of those "beginner" small lowepro bags.
And it felt really stable while I was riding my bike on the street. I never worried about it and I felt confident that the bag would protect it well enough.
I still use it if I have to pack a buncha stuff (which is pretty rare nowadays). It could hold a good amount of stuff though. Held my 7D, 70-200F/4, 28-135, 50mm, a 430EX flash, and just small accessories like chargers and batteries.

They look like lunch boxes to me :v:
i wish they made a camera backpack that just looked like a regular north face backpack but had slots for camera stuff in the main compartment. I would use something like that for hikes or whatever but then I like a shoulder bag for when I wouldn't need as much gear or just like walking around the city or around town.
i try not to look like a complete wanker on the street carrying a bag that screams 'steal me, i'm a camera bag', but i care about accessibility more than anything.
I don't live in a place where it's conceivable that anyone would steal from you on the streets.
Everyone knows everyone here. If someone stole something from me, I'd go to his house the next day and talk with his mother.
I just picked up a Lowepro Dashpoint 30 and it can clip onto a backpack strap like this:

So I can have camera handy while hiking and not having it swinging by the strap from my neck and it's protected from rain.

I got it in black.

tactical holster for the professional operator

it does look super handy
That looks really awkward to reach, also the strap shown is one of those cheap plastic ones that get really ugly and crumpled up under even light use. Putting something on them seems ludacris to me.

It's because it's more convenient to walk with than a regular strap. I don't think you'd use it if you were taking your camera out every 10 seconds.
is it odd that I dont have a polarizer yet? i feel like thats the one filter that everyone has when they get into photography regardless if they know what it does or how to use it.
who the fuck owns a polarizer
[editline]27th January 2014[/editline]
#nofilter

yes it is very weird put down your camera and don't even touch it until you get a polariser
only filter i ever used, i broke the first day i got it on accident.

#filterless #donth8 #dustonmylens
i only tend to use filters when i can afford to take my time. portraits, landscapes etc.
on the street, filters are just fiddly. fuck carrying them around all the time
~meanwhile on top gear~

I write camera reviews in my spare time mostly of the vintage stuff like my Exakta and Zenits and others. Well whatever I get really. I've started putting them onto a blog so if its not much bother could you leave some feedback about it.

i used a cheap uv filter in place of a lens cap for a day, it produced ugly flares, i binned it. no filter
Using UV filters is fine if you get a good quality filter(Hoya HMC, B+W for example), otherwise don't even bother with them, especially with the cheap as shit chinese filters you can get off ebay.
Do it right or don't do it at all.
I use a soviet UV filter on my 28-80L
My UV filter gives me terrible lens flares, is this normal? Sort of a noob here
Only normal when they're cheapo filters
I have a Hoya on mine, those go for like $20 on ebay
I have a Hoya on mine, those go for like $20 on ebay
Cheap Hoya's are just as bad as any other cheap filter.
the only filters I have are the 52mm skylight that I got with trogs 50mm f/2, but I think I am going to take it off because the front element is so deeply set into the lens and the filter is absolutely filthy and has a nasty scratch on the middle
and then the $60 hoya that came with my 24mm which I use on that
[editline]28th January 2014[/editline]
oh also

The ones I got were multi-coated if it makes it less crappy
looks like a good camera
its a good SLR style mirrorless but I totally disagree with the part in the article saying its supposed to be a competitor for the 70D and D7100
