everyone knows that the sensor's best pixels are in the middle, so that's where you want to keep every subject when you shoot
[editline]29th January 2014[/editline]
apparently the idea seems to be that it's more for easier tracking of moving subjects at large focal lengths while filming, which makes sense i guess
nahhh everyone knows the lens is the sharpest at the center with least distortion!

i thought we weren't posting true things

Man I gotta see this in store and start aiming. Kids who love CoD will love this.
it'd go really well with the tactical camera holster from the previous page

aight, she's in, whoo
putting a red dot sight on a bridge camera makes perfect sense because only an idiot would buy and use either of those

You walk around without a camera strap?
You walk around without a camera strap?
yezzir, strap annoys the shit out of me.
yezzir, strap annoys the shit out of me.
i would imagine its more annoying when you drop your camera or it slips out of your hand and you are out hundreds or possibly thousand(s) of dollars
i would imagine its more annoying when you drop your camera or it slips out of your hand and you are out hundreds or possibly thousand(s) of dollars
all the more reason to keep a tighter grip, mang
i like to try my best to be more careful rather than use a strap. i think they get in the way, and it's really annoying. plus the only straps i have are official branded ones and they look awful
[editline]30th January 2014[/editline]
they have a purpose in photography, but not for me. i don't have my camera out for extended amounts of time; i throw it back in to my bag when i've landed a shot.
i was doing some filter vs nonfilter stuff with the 50mm f/2 and skylight filter and oddly enough, the biggest difference between the two shots wasn't color or sharpness (as I expected) but the filter shot had some slight more barrel distortion and the entire frame was zoomed in a bit more.
[editline]29th January 2014[/editline]
have u ever gone so depth of the field that...
[t]http://puu.sh/6DeNO[/t]
I always keep the strap on mine but never wear it around my neck or shoulder, just wrap it around my hand/wrist so if I lose my grip it will still be attached to my wrist and ~shouldn't~ hit the floor, never had to test it thankfully
I use shoulder straps. I have some older ones with detachable straps, but they are on most all of the time. I hate neck straps, but the shoulder is great and allows for the camera to be in reach not annoyingly
what do you guys think is a good 35mm equiv focal length for headshots/portraits? I see 85mm and 105mm a lot (crop sensor)
People sometimes talk a lot about distortion and which lens is the best portrait, blah blah I use the 50mm
Portrait is a really loose term, what sort of pictures are you looking to make?
haven't used a strap for about a year and whilst a lot of people on the photography course swear by them, i'm the one laughing when it gets tangled in a tripod

Then you accidentally drop your camera but you won't because you're extra careful right?
Then you accidentally drop your camera but you won't because you're extra careful right?
if i drop it, worst that happens is it gets a scratch.
Then you accidentally drop your camera but you won't because you're extra careful right?
bodies aren't that weak
the lens would be the most at-risk piece
[editline]30th January 2014[/editline]
i wouldn't be too bothered about breaking the 50mm i use for street stuff because they're cheap and easy to buy. i'd go strapped (and buy a not hideous one) if i were using a more expensive lens
if i drop it, worst that happens is it gets a scratch.
Onto something like concrete or tarmac? You'd dent it and probably mess up a control dial and damage the lens mount, or crack the lens.

my camera body has been slammed onto concrete, and it's fine. the only thing that broke was my first 50.
ironically, i was wearing a strap when it happened.
