cant wait until sensors are small enough for the prism-sensor thing to work tbh
Samyang is now going to start making AF lenses I hope they are as cheap as their manual ones.
I am still skeptical of their magical sensor technology, I don't really see how its better than normal ones that use bayer interpolation or whatever its called
It results in greater sharpness, as each pixel is exactly the colour of light that hits it, rather than an approximation using the pixels around it.
It results in greater sharpness, as each pixel is exactly the colour of light that hits it, rather than an approximation using the pixels around it.
chroma sharpness can be a lot lower than luminance sharpness though, our eyes aren't very good at differentiating colour boundaries and stuff like that, that's why colour channels are waaay lower res than luma channels
Hmm there's a Canon new F1 on Craigslist with AE finder and shutter grip for $100 To act upon or not to act upon... I've got an A1 but I can't sell it for close to $100 which is eh
anyone know of a good way to calibrate monitors? I noticed that my seiki 39" has recessed yellows and exaggerated blues. I tried a bunch of different settings I found through google but none of them really addressed the color issues

I just bought my first DSLR, the Canon EOS 60D :v: any tips or tricks on how to get into photography without screwing up?
that's an odd order to do things in, buying an 800 dollar camera before asking how to get into photography
any tips or tricks on how to get into photography without screwing up?
start by screwing up - most learn best from trial and error.
at this stage you're wanting to become familiar with the gear so just go out, shoot, find out what everything does and what effects it has.

The hard part is learning how they all work together.

My dad fell with our Nikon D3100 and he broke the stock 18-55mm lens. What lens should we buy for it now? Any nice tips?
17-50 2.8
My dad fell with our Nikon D3100 and he broke the stock 18-55mm lens. What lens should we buy for it now? Any nice tips?
Another 18-55mm VR because they're great and really cheap. [editline]16th February 2014[/editline] or a 24mm f/1.4 N
why does the focus show up differently than the end result if i use my optical viewfinder with my 50 1.8d? it's fine if i use the LV. usually if i use the optical finder, my photos are a touch out of focus even if they were in focus in my finder at the time (which is the reason a lot of my old photos used to be out of focus). would it a problem with my camera (d3200), or the lens?
could be because DSLR focusing screens aren't really designed for accurate manual focus [editline]17th February 2014[/editline] i've always found it difficult to get accurate manual focus on any camera unless there's microprisms
yeah crop sensor optical viewfinders are a bitch for manual focus, live view that shit.
Maybe your vision is fucked and the scroll thing next to your viewfinder is on a wrong setting? I can never ever get an in-focus pic with using the optical viewfinder. I never wear my glasses outside of school too, so that might be one problem.
Found out my camera can't shoot in raw. I've had it for over 4 years and it was a low-end camera at that time, reckon it's worth buying a new one?
What camera is it?
Fuji Finepix S1500
I think it's about time for an upgrade. Maybe get into the DSLR world.
I've only got around £250 to spend so it'll probably have to be a 2nd hand bridge camera. Got any recommendations? [editline]17th February 2014[/editline] any camera with a higher resolution and ability to shoot in raw will be good enough

[editline]17th February 2014[/editline] Amazon or Ebay?
