I can guarantee the selfie. I'm horrid at reviewing things though :v:
whatever, do it anyways
i like reviewing things
although if I were to review camera things though I wouldnt do it like "and here is the sharpness chart test as you can see its only an 8/10 and it focuses .13 seconds slower than the nikon version therefore its an awful lens I would not recommend"

lol it has the weightlifter guy
This looks somewhat useful. If only I liked avid. It's so unnecessarily difficult. But I still am going to have to master that because AVID certification is what companies look for now.

Was kinda on the fence about my X10 but the longer I spend fiddling with it the more I love it. Fuck that battery life though oh my days what a joke. So glad I got an extra battery.
Fuji cameras are so fun to use.
Someone I know who goes to a college program for photography bought a MacBook because everyone else in the room had one..
you could spend your money on worse things to be honest
At least he'll be making use of the good quality screen and the hardware (PS/LR can be pretty hardware intensive).
I swear half the people I know who have macbooks use them as $2000 facebook machines that sometimes get used for ms word to make an essay.
The Macbook is in this strange territory where it's half fashion accessory and half laptop computer.
there is 4 of us on a 47 strong course who have pc's...
if i could afford one, i'd get a macbook too
i wish I had waited a few months to get mine since mine is the last generation before they started to use non shitty 256mb graphics and i3/i5/i7 processors

If it matters, he got a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM, Intel i5 dual-core 2.8GHz. It's actually the first time I've seen the retina display in my face and I was able to compare it with a non-retina 15-inch MacBook Pro (1600x900px? display). The screen looks like the retina iPad which has a pretty crisp screen but I still don't really see how it's worth getting the retina display. Well at least when I scroll webpages, the text doesn't look weird. It's pretty light weight and thinner.
He uses Lightroom and Photoshop CS6/CC. Apparently CS6 doesn't have an update for the retina displays so everything is blocky...

Doesn't everyone use their laptops as $x facebook machines? I know I would if I used Facebook enough. I guess some people like the screens or how thin and lightweight Macbooks are.
I like the MacBook Pro keyboards, it just feels good to type on. Whenever I use it, I feel like I should never stop typing on it. Literally every laptop keyboard I've used sucked in some way. Too plasticy or too hard to press the buttons or the keyboard is cramped because there's a number pad.
Windows is my life I honestly don't think I'm capable of switching
I was thinking about getting a Macbook because my desktop is old as hell and is struggling to be stable when I start up LR and I just want a laptop for portability. Is a Macbook really that good for this photo editing? everyone seem to use one and I'm not really seeing why everyone gravitates towards it other than it's an Apple product.

I mean the people who buy them because just because it's like a fashion accessory to them. I was making a joke because they could have spent 1/4 of the money on something that would suit all their needs.
But it's their money, if it makes them happy, so be it :v:.

I was a Windows elitist, and now I'm becoming an Apple snob.
help
My course advises students not to buy Macs since Rhino is terrible on OSX.
People still bought them though (MOM I NEEEEEEEEED A MACBOOK FOR UNI GAAAAAWD).
Mom how can I have swag if I don't have a macbook pro.

That Apple tax
I normally turn my cameras completely silent when I can but I've left the shutter sound on on the X10 for 'authenticity'. Just discovered the sound changes based on shutter speed. 1/125 is a chiclack, 1" is chick.... clack. This fukken camera man.
i want a camera that goes snick-snick
my nex has an annoying double clank

can anyone recommend good AA rechargeable batteries for a speedlight?
try to find some high capacity ni-mh batteries (i'm talking like 2800-2900 mAh per battery)
can anyone recommend good AA rechargeable batteries for a speedlight?
I have had great experiences with Duracell
i don't know about the US, but here you can get sets of 4 from 7dayshop (their own brand) for £5 and they work just fine
don't hold the charge for very long (i'm talking like if you charge them and leave them for a couple of weeks you'll probably want to recharge them), but if you charge them at the start of the day when you know you'll be using the flash then they will last you a good number of shots
[editline]4th March 2014[/editline]
so yeah doesn't need to be anything fancy, as long as you can find some reviews saying they don't explode or anything you're good to go
god i might have to buy a legit external flash if i want to do more event photography i'm going to cry

avid is pretty simple tbh

what world do you live in? anyone here that owns a macbook has good reason to
[editline]4th March 2014[/editline]
if someone wants a small, light laptop for regular web browsing and document stuff, then it's not just being used as a 'facebook machine'

eneloop
Bought my retina macbook at release because of the screen and at the time it was the most powerful and compact laptop for a reasonable price. Apple does a damn good job making it's products work with minimal headache between all of it's devices. Allows a more set-it-and-forget-it workflow. Plus that yung thunderbolt let's me make huge (talking hundreds of gb) file transfers in a minimal amount of time.
I use to be a windows guy, but my priorities changed and going mac really took the all the pain out of using my self-built pc with minimal computing-power compromise.
