if someone wants a small, light laptop for regular web browsing and document stuff, then it's not just being used as a 'facebook machine'

eneloop
It's either that or buy a Windows Ultrabook
selling my eos 600d and i think i'm gonna buy 16gb of ram and a 240gb ssd for my macbook pro

+1 on this
Did some research a while back into the best rechargeable for use in high power requirement devices such as flashes etc, eneloops were always mentioned as the best. Their main selling points are that not only are they high power, they can be recharged thousands of times before degenerating and hold their charge for years unlike most rechargeables. Got about 12 AA's of them now, never had a problem

If its one of the ones which still has a CD drive, you should also replace the CD drive with the hard drive that's currently in your macbook for more storage etc
at the pound shop 12 packs and 6 packs of batteries are priced the same

dat paint flake
is that well used if my trip 35 or even dslr had paint on metal like that it would probably be in waaay worse condition within a week
If I had the money I would have a mac and a PC. I just can't live without my PC for gaming. I need to game. Now if I only did photo and video editing, then I probably would go with a Mac. I hate their prices but the way they work with their OSX is better than windows. As much as I hate to admit it.
I would have to get an iMac with cinema display though. Fuck apple laptops.
you can dualboot windows on macintosh computers though?
[editline]4th March 2014[/editline]
also pls apple laptops are delicious
I don't like Apple laptops. I don't like that shiny thin design and the lack of trackpoint. Thinkpads all the way although sadly lenovo is now going the way of apple as well.

I so like Apple laptops. I do like that shiny thin design because it usually means it's pretty lightweight. I never got a hang of using the trackpoint.
how are lenovo going the way of apple tho? if anything they're heading in the other direction
unless you mean in terms laptop design, which i don't see a problem with. lighter is alyways good, as long as major structural compromises aren't made to the laptops

i saw myself as a bit of a thinkpad person before (various t61p's) but wouldn't personally go back to one for video and photo work
because

this looks like it's gonna break within a year. Lenevo laptops should be sturdy and solid, not some flexible yoga tabled.
ordered some lomo 100 film. it was $8.40 for 3 rolls of 36, the price seemed alright so i want to see if this film is completely shitty or not.
in the very least amazon needs a good review because all the ones now for it are awful.
touchscreen laptops a shit. why would you want fingerprints all over your screen, especially for photo work?
tablets, i can understand. tocuh is the primary input. but i rarely see people with touchscreen laptops actually using the touch because of smudges

tbh i never notice smudges on tablets or w/e unless the screen is at some mad angle because modern oleophobic coatings are pretty good
esp less on tablets because they're less likely to get scratched by shit in ur pockets and stuff

screen protectors often show smudges and finger prints more.
who uses screen protesters though
who uses screen protesters though
me
why its like using a dirty uv filter on yout lens
why its like using a dirty uv filter on yout lens
no it's not, you're not taking pictures with your screen. your screen doesn't have an imaging sensor.
no but you use a screen protector to stop your screen getting dirty
except when you look at your screen, it's still dirty because it's got a dirty protector on top
that's the plan

glass protectors put on properly aren't bad at all
still wouldn't use one but yeah

i did this with my thinkpads and never regretted it. who really needs an optical drive that badly these days that they need one built in to their laptop?
can anyone recommend good AA rechargeable batteries for a speedlight?
I believe I use panasonic
I see people using tablets with mice
I'm seriously considering replacing my Thinkpad X61 with a Surface Pro (or similar) at some point later this year. I'd use a BT mouse and keyboard with it. Might as well roll my nexus 7 and X61 in to one.

well it would be a hell lot more portable
is the 50mm f/1.8g's focus ring supposed to feel like trash plastic on plastic?
yes
well it would be a hell lot more portable
would it though? carrying around a surface, mouse and keyboard sounds like a lot more hassle than one item that combines all of those and can do so much more
