I don't know what I'd do without the land of the pound.
I guess it's cheaper if you develop your own film at home and frequently visit poundland.

£1 pizza and £1 beers
What?! They sell beer at poundland?
[editline]7th March 2014[/editline]
Wait... It doesn't matter anyway. I can buy 9% beer for that price across the road from me.

$1 pizza and beer is where it's at
Guinness Draught cans are currently something like £8 for 10 at Tesco.
Good beer for 80p a can, not bad.

Ah not interested then sorry. If I find a cheap Nikon film camera though I'll let you know
[QUOTE=Trogdon;44152334]i just don't understand why if they are trying to sell something they won't respond to someone trying to buy it?
one of them just called me back, getting a maxxum 7000 with a 28mm 2.8 (mostly what i want just because i don't have one), 35-70mm f4, 50mm 1.7, 70-210mm f4, and a nikon 55mm f3.5 (?) for $135
going to sell the 50, 55, and 70-210, then give the 7000 + 35-70 to one of my friends who wants to start shooting film. keep the 28mm for myself and hopefully use it every now and then on film
just want to break even at least off the sales[/QUOTE]
how much does the 50 go for? i might be interested in that action

prefer if its a newer one that can use g lenses if possible like an n90 or something?

I think like $60 is what I'm thinking. It's AF though, do you have a Maxxum camera?

Got some poundland rolls of film yesterday. Running one through my Contaflex II right now. Although no idea if the Contaflex actually works...

Good thing you're only running a poundland film through it then.

i want to buy flash transceivers but im not sure if I should buy manual ones or TTL ones
[editline]12th March 2014[/editline]
any advice?
edit: nevermind I want the high speed sync and only the TTL ones do that so i think ill just get those
manual are cheaper, TTL can be useful but off camera they won't meter that well since the flashes think they are directly mounted on the shoe on the camera (ambient light readings will be a bit off)
i have manual triggers that were like $30 and they are alright (cowboy studio), if the TTL ones aren't much more than that it's certainly a good convenience but not worth a ton more money. i'm finding some on amazon for like $300 and it's nowhere near that much of a difference, at that point just get a long wired shoe thing.
i was looking at the yongnuo RF-603n (manual, $30 for 2 transceivers) or the YN-622n ($80 for 2 transceivers)
$80 isn't too bad. would be good future proofing and probably a lot more convenient, just depends on how often you actually use the thing. i've used mine only a handful of time in the last year or so i've had it, so i wouldn't get TTL triggers just because of the price.
I just spilled water on the back of my d7100 with a weather sealed ish lens and nothing got inside the lens or mount but now it won't boot up how fucked am i
