[QUOTE=Roll_Program;44343925]I might sell my X-E2 and get an X100S since I've only used the 18mm f/2 and nothing else, would rather have a thinner camera and 23mm f/2. Anyone have one? Opinions?[/QUOTE] I have an X100 and its probs the most fun digital camera i've ever used
[QUOTE=Uber|nooB;44346366]if you're talking about ion film 2 sd then it is just a normal film scanner that outputs to sd card (so the film must be developed)[/QUOTE] and becasue its ion it's prolly a power of shite
dedicated film scanners are just a 5mp sensor hooked up to some bad optics taking pics of your negatives

imagine out of all those hairs how many must be pubes [editline]25th March 2014[/editline] (all of them)
[QUOTE=Eltro102;44351321]imagine out of all those hairs how many must be pubes [editline]25th March 2014[/editline] (all of them)[/QUOTE] they're all scratches into the glass
i've scratched the ground glass before and never had them be that deep or noticeable, usually they were faint gray if anything. there might be a bunch of scratches at the mirror too if they are that dark.

can I do the brenizer method just fine with a 50mm f/1.8 on a crop body? i see the dude who "invented" it uses an 85mm on a FF so I am 10mm off but not sure how good the effect will be due to DOF? also does anyone have anything against buying a pair of yongnuo YN-622n's and a 43" umbrellas/8' flash stand kit
yeah easily if you want, you can stand closer to the subject so as to get more dof, although this increases the chance of stitching errors and stuff but it should be fine either way

does anyone know of a manual flash transceiver that can still do high speed sync and has a good range that is less than the yongnuo yn622s? [editline]26th March 2014[/editline] the rf-603s dont do HSS and the range is only decent
Got me a Sigma 35mm art today. This thing is a beaut! Need some time to get used to it though, since my only other prime lens is the 50mm 1.8
What's a good film camera within a budget of $150-$200? Preferably one that has manual but some auto modes like Aperture priority if thats possible. Otherwise, anything is fine
I would say the Canon A1, Minolta X-700, or Pentax ME Super. All of them will be pretty similar in usability and performance, it just depends on what lens system you want to buy into. Canon and Minolta will be cheaper for lenses (I've found better deals on Canon personally), and Pentax being a little pricier but you can adapt the lenses to DSLR's more easily. I'd look locally for one of the options, and just get whichever you find first.
it depends what u want it for like if you want a slr thing then you want a slr thing but if you want a street shooter thing then you want a street shooter thing and if you want a small pocketable thing you want an xa or something
SLR is what I was looking for. The Canon A1 and Minolta X-700 seem like good choices.
I have an A1 myself, and I like it. I use it mostly in Aperture priority, the manual mode is a little tedious to use in my opinion. It has LED's and not a needle exposure meter like other cameras. You set the shutter speed and it tells you what your aperture should be for that shutter speed, and blinks when it's too dark. Match needle cameras are better for manual metering because they are a bit easier to dial in settings quickly, but I would much rather shoot in A priority personally so it doesn't bother me.
Yeah I'd likely shoot it in Aperture priority but it's good to hear that it's got those features. The one thing that was making me nervous about shooting film was the fear that I'd fuck up the exposure on a picture I was trying to take and it'd be a waste.
I have an A1 too. It was my first serious camera. Looks nice, has autoexposure and a big bright viewfinder. It's a pleasure to use. I mostly use it in P(ro) mode.
the meter in it is pretty good, usually with wide angle lenses (less than 35mm) i set it to overexpose a bit because it always meters to the sky.
i can personally vouch for olympus om-2 has manual and aperture priority; very big viewfinder; shutter speed dial is located around the base of the lens mount, so ergonomics better than cameras that have it on the top (imho, because you can feel the ballpark you are in in terms of shutter speeds (handholdable vs not handholdable) without having to look away from the viewfinder)
om-2 will ruin u because of how nice its VF is [editline]28th March 2014[/editline] you will look through any other slr viewfinder and you'll be all like "what is this, butthole-o-vision??"
i had an om1n once, it did have a very big finder. i don't think it was any clearer or brighter than anything else, but it was large i sold it though because the native lens prices are ridiculously high compared to other systems (aside from contax anyway). not a fan of the shutter ring dial either, felt awkward to me
I love my Pentax MV-1
wow I just took the strap off my camera and even though I dont always hold it when its on the camera my hands feel so much more free
I just got my Minolta 50mm prime and now I'm wondering where to store my kit lens. And my camera in general when I'm not using it. Where do you guys usually put it when not in use? I just have it on my desk right next to me but I should probably store it somewhere safer or something.
snug in my camera bag
wherever i leave it tbh - im so lazy
i wish i had a local place where I could rent a lens for like a day or maybe just a few hours idk id love to try out one of those insane lenses like a 300mm f/2.8 for a sports game at my school but couldnt justify spending $200 renting one for 3 days seeing how hard it is for me to get $200 in the first place not having a job and being 16 [editline]29th March 2014[/editline] im like really hesitant to buy the yongnuo yn-622s because I am not really sure if I need the stuff that extra $50 gets me. The main reason I am going for them is for the HSS so I can still get a shallow DOF when shooting outside with a flash but is that really that important/hard to achieve?
