It could, I guess it mostly just depends on if it was intended for 35mm projection or 70mm projection.
Here's a bit of a read if you are interested in trying to make a photo lens with it
http://www.dyxum.com/dforum/projector-lens-first-pictures_topic105704.html
I would suggest trying to free lens it using liveview (hold it in front of your camera with no lens on and see if you can get it to make an image on your sensor) and see what that looks like.
Hey, thanks! I've currently been trying two things with it--freelensing it, as you suggested and holding it in front of my 50mm, which produces some pretty cool vignetting.
forgot to mention i got some things [sp]i am so sorry please forgive me[/sp]

Dude, I'm pretty jealous. :v How's it useless?

offers no practical image quality increase (compression artefacts), moires up on raw (6D), no obvious anamorphic artefacts bar distortion. the bokeh doesn't even do anything.

Damn. :/ Well, at least you weren't a moron like me and went and bought a projection lens instead of a anamorphic one. :b
is it worth selling my 600d body and paying the extra for a 700d body or nah?

What's the aperture? Can you use it to get sweet wide stills?
is it worth selling my 600d body and paying the extra for a 700d body or nah?
Jesus, no, the difference is not worth it.
Cheers guys, I wont.
I've had both cameras (the 700D for a very short time though as a rented camera)
Sure, the 700D will go up to one stop higher ISO, and it has faster burst rate. Those are genuine better features.
However, the touchscreen is something you'll rarely ever use, the new autofocus for video is still shit, and in the end you'll be taking the same pictures you were taking with the 600D.
If you need an upgrade, wait a bit longer until you have the money to do a proper upgrade.
Il probably hold out until Im not enjoying the 600d anymore, but ive had it 2 years now and still love it so Im not sure why I even thought of upgrading, might buy a 40mm instead.
A good idea is to invest in optics that also will work for a full format camera in the future.
Ah ok, any suggestions?
plastic fantastic (50mm v2)
EF 40mm f/2.8 STM
Oh, just buy whatever you see fit as long as it's compatible with both crop and full format :>
Aka, it should be an EF lens, not an EF-S lens.
EF lenses fit both full format and crop-format Canons, but EF-S will not fit full format cameras.
When I switched from my 600D to a 6D, I had to sell my Sigma 18-200mm as it was not compatible.
So this is just for futureproofing, but if you really feel like you need an EF-S lens, then don't be stopped. You can always sell later.

holy shit this lens has almost gotten 2x cheaper

Do you mean F3, then it's a pretty good deal if it's a Nikon 50mm.

not really, but it's worth a try?
Got my clamp, and, after a little bit of mucking about with the lens, I came up with this setup! :D

Those bulbs give off so much heat and they're only rated for four hours.

I've got the same set, I know what you mean. Try taking portraits with them, it's hilarious.
Make 2 and put a strip of white paper/cloth in front of them and you'll have a pretty sweet strip light setup.
