use it for BnW photography??
i have a tamron 28 that also has yellow glass but afaik those didn't even have any thorium in them so i'm guessing it's yellow because it just sucks
use it for BnW photography??
I have before and it's been great, probably should just do that until I run out of B&W rolls and then worry about it. I hardly shoot film as is, so it's harder for me to consciously shoot B&W
get a blue/purple filter, it should counter the yellow's colour cast
But then I have to get the right hue and blahh
I just want my UV light to work, I might try making an aluminum cone or something zany
God damnit they only have the glossy cameras here, gotta dig deeper
Rad dude, take some wicked shots alright?
i'll do my best, haha :v:
so, i'm looking for a cheap remote for the camera, does anyone have any suggestions?

@/b/rother: try looking up canon RC-6 (appears to be canon equiv of my remote) on ebay and you should see some cheap wireless remotes for a few bucks

thank you, i was looking for a post just like this one!
So my package finallyyyy got here. I got on a Canon t50 bundle for $35 total, and it came with a Canon 200mm f4 macro in mint condition! I don't know if I should keep it or sell it, I could get around $340 pretty easily and buy me a new lens (85mm 1.4 :0). My macro shooting is pretty much limited to 0, and my Nex can't take my flash so it's basically useless for product stuff I do

If you got no use for it, then yeah, sell it. Looks pretty bonkers on that nex though.
In other news, I've bought a NEX-6 with the kitlens yesterday. The first camera I completely own. Very excited, especially about the EVF.
I wish there were just Alpha to FD glassless adapters because then I could use it like 1:1 to 20 feet, covering basically every distance a macro would be shot in anyway, but alas there is not. Nothing will be as convenient as an a77 is for macro shooting
would a virtual split prism be possible, like for an a7
there should be an open database of user made mods for digital cameras, the a7 has a page for programs but only about 3 exist and they are all sony made
I bought a new camera recently:

The X-E2 has a virtual split prism which I've tried out but focus peaking is still more useful, and the A7 has it, I'd assume it's pretty similar on both systems.
You're not missing out.
yeah peaking is like the top for focus assist, other than zooming (though excellent when combined). if you go to the picture styles and choose portrait and lower the contrast it will make the lines only show up at extreme contrasts (it makes calculations off the processed image), so it's easier to get exact focus. then you can still edit them fine in RAW
Tried filming yesterday with a Canon 7D. Didn't like it, couldn't get as good images as with the 5D III or even my G6... Maybe there were setting that I overlooked but I can say the weather sealing was top notch (took it out in a huge rainstorm)
The 5D III is a lot better than the 7D in terms of image quality in movie mode. That's just the way it is. 7D's Sensor is getting old too. Time for a 7D MK II to come out. Not to say that the 7D is a bad camera though, it's still very nice.
Man, I am loving this NEX-6. The Viewfinder is pretty cool and I really like the controls and buttons. Feels really solid. Can't wait to go to the City tomorrow and test it out for real.
anyone here knowledgeable on instant cameras? plan on buying one for a friend for their birthday

was thinking of this, but if anyones got any better suggestions that'd be great. I'm kind of gravitating towards fuji because of the cheap film
I'm not too versed in the subject, but I know that camera and film are probably the easiest and cheapest to buy, I would go with them.

yeah I just made the purchase, got em both for $70 not bad. Better than shelling out 200 for a polaroid, which you need to pay like 50-60 dollars for the film (which has 8 I think per packet compared to fuji's like 20 I think?)
it's not the prettiest looking camera, and it's fucking bulky (like the size of your head), but it takes good quality pictures. not to mention the 4.25 x 3.25 picture size seems nice.
Polaroid film is wicked expensive. I didn't think the Polaroid bodies were that much though? I have two and I paid $6 for one (landcam, takes 600 film) then another which was like $2, I thought it looked decent but haven't been able to find film for it (not that I looked very hard).
Also, having tried the kit lens, its terrible, on the EOS700D

I'm really biased towards the land cameras but those can be some of the best if you're ok with doing a lot of hands on stuff to mess with them. I've seen stuff from 35mm inserts (which kind of defeats the whole point of having a land camera) to fully functional shutter speed dials to removable lenses etc. But you're right about the film, the FP-3000B which I really liked is now discontinued and you usually find it for 20 bucks for a pack of it and I don't really like the color FP-100c that much.
What is cool about the larger pack films though is you can get all kinds of backs for other cameras that accept it, like the Nikon F3's F3HP back.

the 700d kit lens is fine?
[editline]17th April 2014[/editline]
also, polaroid is very expensive hobby. search around for other instant films, because polaroid is going to run you like £15 for 8 exposures
i kinda want a nikon 35ti to bring on vacation instead of dslr but there are probably cheaper fixed 35mm lens alternatives
anyone know of any?
edit:
alternatives meaning they do aperture priority and AF and stuff
