Minolta
uh guys hesserlbad is actually the best pokemon because it costs $60,000 dennys fun bucks to even buy one u idiot
I'd say right now Nikon makes better photo cameras than Canon. Look at comparative models from each manufacturer (D5300 vs t5i, D7100 vs 7D, D610 vs 6D, D810 vs 5Dmk3) and Nikon has higher performing sensors with higher resolutions across the board. Dynamic range is quite a bit better on Nikon models, as the shadows can be pushed with less noise and banding, with greater overall detail. In general Nikon uses newer sensors, I mean Canon pushed their 18mp chip for about 6 years, and it wasn't very good when it came out. Other than this, the AF systems in the Nikon cameras are a bit more fleshed out, and feature oriented. On the other hand Nikon's video codecs are pretty poor, though I've heard the d5300 is good. Canon definitely has the upper hand here and I would never recommend buying a Nikon just for video. Honestly if you are looking at competitive cameras I think Nikon is the better buy. In their APS-C offerings they have some better lens choices as well, such as the 35mm f1.8g lens. Nikon has been putting more modern tech in their cams, with Canon playing it pretty safe lately. I still prefer Sony to either so w/e. Just my thoughts on big 2.

The best camera is the one you are good at using also im rly excited with what fuji has been doing
i just ordered the samyang 14mm 2.8 i'm really looking forward to having a wide angle, and seeing if it really is good or just another piece of korean plastic. [editline]19th August 2014[/editline] and i've been missing my all manual primes i used on my older nikon, so i believe it'll be great fun.
I've been using the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my D3200, I'm wondering what lens to get now. Right now it's between a Tamron 70-300mm and a Nikon 35mm f/1.8G I really want the aperture of the 35mm but I also want to be able to start taking more zoomed in photos of landscapes.
I really want the aperture of the 35mm but I also want to be able to start taking more zoomed in photos of landscapes.
I'd heavily suggest the 35mm. Tele just seems way too usage specific. With the 35mm you get a prime which changes up how you shoot because you have to move around instead of zooming. Might just sound like work at first, but it kinda makes you think a bit more and can be more fun to use than zooming around. It will probably also help with consciously choosing a focal length with your 18-55mm And ofc the f/1.8 Cheap zoom-lenses are also somewhat fishy
Agreed on the above, it's a great lens. If you want zoom for landscapes or other things that aren't moving around and don't need autofocus, I'd highly recommend checking out either the 75-150 f/3.5 or the 70-210 f/4 nikon series E lenses. You can get either of them for under 100 usd, and optically they're fantastic.
minolta cl or bessa r3?
I've been using the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my D3200, I'm wondering what lens to get now. The Tamron 70-300mm is good too, with the USD model being excellent. I has an older Tamron 70-300mm with a 1::.8 macro, and it was actually a very good lens. I would recommend the 35mm as a better overall lens, long zoom lenses are a bit less useful for everyday photos. If you so want one though, I would say the cheaper Tamron is a good but for use every now and then. Alternatively the Nikon 55-200mm is great for the price [editline]19th August 2014[/editline]
minolta cl or bessa r3?
I think the CL has better 40mm frame lines than the R3, but the R3 does have a 1:1 finder. I'd go for the cheaper option
i just thought the bessa might be a good option because its much newer, and easier to repair.
Bessa R3 obviously. The light meter on the Leica/Minolta CL is known to be prone to fail if it hasn't already. The finder on the bessa R3 is better as well the way you load the film into the camera (loading a CL is very cumbersome). And as you say the Bessa is newer. I wouldn't worry about it needing repairs any time soon though.
Does anyone know if the Optomax 500mm F8 is any good? I've been wanting a tele for a while and found a p cheap one on ebay.
Does anyone know if the Optomax 500mm F8 is any good? I've been wanting a tele for a while and found a p cheap one on ebay.
Probably not very good at all. You might be better off getting a 70-300mm zoom and cropping in [editline]21st August 2014[/editline] I did search for some images and they were better than I was expecting (likely a Cooke triplet which is a proven formula), but I would still be weary. They are massive and manual focus only. Unless you have a tilt screen with live view it would be a chore to use. They are big enough to warrant almost strictly being on a tripod, which is why I think the tilt screen would be important. A 70-300mm lens that is optically stabilized would be easier to shoot handheld, much lighter and smaller, and you get autofocus. Cropping in would likely have a little less resolution, but the ease of use would mean you would be more likely to use it
Gear related... So I was an idiot and dropped my camera. It's totally fine except the Nikkor lens focus now wobbles. I don't think I've noticed any difference in my photos but it's just generally annoying and I hate having defective things. Also something inside is lose and I can hear it. Anybody have any idea how to get it repaired? Nikon warranty doesn't cover accidents but I'd just send it to somebody to get whatever is wrong with it fixed. Anybody with any leads?
what city you in?
Portland, OR
Portland, OR
I thought there was no sun in portland.
good news everyone the shit thing i hacked together in my shed with plumbing supplies and old wood is a viable way to shoot a film on the basis of 7 minutes of capture i did tonight [editline]27th August 2014[/editline] (this was shot at iso 70trillion so apologies for the generally lame quality BUT i'll get some daylight stuff shot soon as well as a comparison of the raw video to a canon c100 in c-log)
This was in a bag with two batteries and the AC adapter for $60. This. Is. Massive. Weight-to-megapixels is pretty much 1:1. :v:
