i want a 1dx purely for bragging rights is that bad
I've had this Minolta XG-M at my house forever and I would just fuck with the lens all the time. I finally got batteries for it and it works! Just need to find where to buy film around here.
Chatting to a friend of mine who I only recently found out he was into photography. Was chatting to him about gear and stuff, he owns a 5D MKIII and a 1DX..in which have never left auto mode since he got them.
There always people like this for any interest, cars, video games, sports, etc.
It's especially annoying with photography because they think they've spent their way into being a better photographer and talk down to you about it, as if having expensive gear verifies how good they are at making art.

i thought the 1dx didn't have an auto mode at all and it was manual only
who actually uses full manual, it's all about that ap mode
i've always thought you should be able to shoot full manual but as long as you get the shot then why does it matter

i want a broken 1d-anything to hit things with

A perfectly working Zenit will do just fine :v:

Could always buy a working one, takes a fair bit to take a 1d out of commission

I prefer to do full manual if I have the time to set up.
Hey guys, I'm selling a Canon rebel T2i on ebay.ca! If anyone is interested here is the link (it's the camera body only!)
My GH4 keeps frying my SD cards after a few weeks
or maybe im not using the best SD cards
any suggestions?
I took the 1D out yesterday to test it. All I have for EF is a plastic 28-80 kit lens that I used with my D30 and seemed to take really bad photos.

Ten minutes of post processing and its still a pretty awful photograph IMHO. Now I'm positive that lens is REALLY shit.
it's not
Good photo, but yeah it is a bit of a poor lens optically. I think the Canon 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 is supposed to be decent, and the 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 is always an option as well
So I got some Portra 800 for my Minolta XG-M and after lots of fiddling and never getting it to fire I found out that after I advance the lever, it will only snap if I fiddle with the auto-winder coupler on the bottom? I have googled a ton but can't really figure anything out.
I'm super excited though, I love the look of portra film and a 50mm on the 35mm is so refreshing from using the 50/86mm on my t3i for 2 years :x
Hmm there's a Sony Zeiss 24-70mm f2.8 on CL for $900, I'm tempted. Could sell my two current standard zooms and offset the cost by about $280. Very cheap for the lens, but still a pretty large investment
The new Metabones speed booster series have autofocus support for Canon lenses made after 2006.
So this might be a fun hobby
How much does entry level shit cost
^ disposable camera shouldn't be more than a tenner
What kind of stuff do you want to shoot?
Also how much do you care about portability? Do you want something big or something you can put into your pocket?
Bigger is better
It can fit in a bag, also just landcapes I guess
Anyone here with the sigma 105 macro? I was totally sure the other night to buy it, but now that I'm looking at the money it seems like an awful lot. Heck, it feels like buyers remorse and I haven't even bought anything yet.

Good lens, I've heard in that segment the Tamron 90mm 2.8 is hard to beat though in price and performance

New entry level dslr stuff? It'll set you back about £400 or so.

The 18-55mm "kit lens" is what you'll want to start with.
There's not really any bad kit lenses out there.
I'm willing to spend a bit on it.
Budget?
quite literally not more than like $350 aud
You want something new or used?
A lens attached to an adapter with a mirror in it allowing phase detection autofocus on a body that literally only houses a sensor that's connected to a cell phone via Wifi
This is the future
