I was walking around the camera show asking vendors if they knew of anyone who wanted a kiev 60, and I was met with a chuckle and a slow head shake every time. No dealer buys them, no matter the condition. I guess I just have to craigslist it.
Camera vendors suck, would not trust them to give you a good deal on nearly anything. They either know the value and will try and screw you on it, or they don't know what you have and they offer you shit for it
I'm pessimistic about them, have had negative experiences
the dude i bought the CL from was sleezy as fuck, but his price was fair, working meter or not. As soon as I asked if the meter worked he started rattling off his return policy rapid fire, which included a 15% restocking fee after 7 days.
I asked if he had a battery to test the meter, and he thew his arms up and said "ya know what? i'm all out", so i had to walk around the show looking for a 625 battery.

Seeing as you'd be buying without knowing the actual condition, I think that would have been your opportunity to suggest he give you a discount.

CL is wicked, congrats btw. I've been thinking about one

it works great mechanically, the shutter is super quiet, and the strap mount on the side is pretty cool. I still have yet to see if the light meter works though.
i found three isco anamorphics at a car boot sale, but they were too heavy and dirty to be of use
Bloody hell Cueball, I sold my isco anamorphic for like £600, I still would've bought them and hoped they cleaned up
they were really old ones, not gold, they worked fine just filthy.
I'd say the one I had was from the 60s-80s
All anomorphic lenses are pretty valuable, new ones are quite expensive. Even the SLR magic cheap ones are upward of $1k
shout out to frag4life, really loving this 35mm zuiko. almost filled up a fresh roll within a day.
i wanna make my own diy version of it out of some plumbing
awful job on the grad nd of the car photo
Great news! My CL's light meter works! You have to pull the film winder back after you wind your film to engage it, which isn't explained by anyone anywhere except for one post on thread about how to fix CL light meters!
From what I can tell, it's 2 stops off though... Hopefully it's because someone already modified it to 1.5v battery power.
i watched a few review videos that mentioned it, but anyway that's exciting have fun

If pointing a camera at the sun doesn't damage the sensor but it will damage your own eyes, then I wonder what lasers that can break a sensor are doing to our own eyes.
looking at the sun doesn't damage your eyes permanently
looking at the sun doesn't damage your eyes permanently
It does if you more than glance at it.
not really, permanent damage takes a lifetime to build up and happens to virtually everyone (uv exposure corroding the cornea)
yeah it's possible to damage your cornea from just staring but it;ll be so intensely painful after like 15 seconds that you'll be forced to blink (~100s for damage to happen)
thermal energy of sun's rays isn't strong enough to permanently damage your retina
I guess I was playing it too safe, I thought looking at the sun for more than a couple of seconds was enough to damage your vision.
through bino's or a telescope yeah, my mate went colour blind from doing it
i'm going to pick up a 135mm f/2.8 zuiko for a steal tonight (15 euro)
I bought a Canon 5D Mark III to upgrade from my 60D :3
Got the stock Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens with it, pretty nice results so far.
Also, old camera collection
