Olympus E-PL2 with 17mm pancake and 14-42mm for $140, anyone know if it'd be worth it?
moving to new page
Looking to get another cine lens for my gh4, I pretty much never take off the 16mm (32 mm equiv) I was thinking maybe a 24 to get the 50 equiv but also an 85 could be cool for some tighter shots. I can't pick what focal length to get, but I'm look at either the SLR magic hyper primes or rokinon cine DS series
Get one of those micro four thirds Voigtlander f0.95 lenses so you get the equivalent DoF of using a f1.8~ on a full frame camera.

I also use the focusing rings so if they have those to start with it makes it easier. Also, I could always use speed boosters and use lenses I already have for cheaper. And the fact that I also use some of these lenses with a C300 so I usually go for the canon mount and adapt.
Speed booster and Contax lenses
after a load of industrial strength 2 part epoxy and 24 hours later it lives!
What focal lengths have you guys been into decently? I've been bouncing between 20mm, 24mm, and 35mm (Occasionally 55mm with film), thinking about trying to get used to long primes again. Been itching for 200mm and I'm not even remotely sure why
all the way from 16mm (fisheye) thru 24-70 thru 70-200 + a lot of 85mm f/1.2 Mostly 85 and ~24, ~70 and ~200 though
My D80 is getting close to it's death, so decided to give myself something for christmas
in my quest to apparently fucking break every piece of gear I own, one of the pins on my wireless flash command unit thing's hotshoe has bent so it doesn't depress when you slide it onto the hotshoe can't bend it back as it keeps spinning around and is far too tiny to hold it properly with pliers thankfully it's the holding pin at the front of the hotshoe that just helps keep the hotshoe in place and isn't an electrical pin currently trying to cut it off so I can put the trigger unit on my camera, will have to tape it in place or something when i use it [editline]13th December 2014[/editline] success

Just bought a Minolta Autocord as a christmas present to myself really excited to use a TLR [editline]13th December 2014[/editline] thinking about asking for a 3 legged thing tripod from my parents too im starting to use planes a lot and i need a compact and light tripod. anyone used a 3LT before or have any recommendations?
Gear breaking quest update #23 The glass lens in the eyepiece infront of the pentaprism has come loose on my new 6D, and now rattles around and is stuck at angle to the way it should be, so when you look through it everything's slightly blurred and you have to look into it at an angle to get it to be clear I'm almost scared of going to work tonight, what's gonna happen next 24-70 spontaneously combusts
your original 6d is clearly the better camera
I'm almost scared of going to work tonight, what's gonna happen next

death by firing squad
^
your original 6d is clearly the better camera
obviously this is a case of sibling rivalry, the old 6d can't get over the fact that it isn't getting all the attention and thus it has started to sabotage the new 6d
30mm because it's the only e mount lens i've got :v:
i use whatever mm' lens i happen to have on me tbh
gear breaking quest entry #24 nothing got broken as far as i know [editline]14th December 2014[/editline] also 24-70 is all purpose master race
surely the new 6d has warranty? get it replace dude

thinking about getting another Contax G1 and also a 90mm f2.8 for my slide thing i'm planning
I found that lens while exploring alternatives to the Rokinon 85mm t1.5 cine and I've wanted it since, but the right metabones adaptor has been sold out for a while and its expensive as hell anyway. But anyway, that would be pretty sweet.
thinking about getting another Contax G1 and also a 90mm f2.8 for my slide thing i'm planning
You should try to get a Contax G2. They have gotten considerably cheaper lately. No idea why.
I found a Contax 90mm for $180, ordered it! Hoping it's cool. I was looking at some G2's, but they are still floating around $350 which is a bit more than I'd like to spend on just a body. A green label G1 is only $100
Lens cozies.
Got an Olympus omG with a 50 1.8, a Sigma 70-210 4.5, a nifty case for the sigma, decent camera bag, 10 assorted rolls of film, a couple of 72mm filters, vivitar flash, and some cleaning supplies off craigslist for 35$. neat
Lens cozies.
people do crazy things to get contax G lenses

Since I got my new D7000, decided I should build a shoulder rig out of some spare materiel. [t]http://i.imgur.com/zV1vq2h.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/9QJ1usx.jpg[/t] Cost me $0 for what you can see (Will be shortening the back since it's a little too long) Probably will be buying a better rear weight ($5), bike grips ($5) and a quick release mount for the camera ($20)
i guess it does the job but i can't see much practical benefit of a rails system until you're using a mattebox with filters, v lock adapters, etc. until then, concentrate on minimising weight and maximising ergonomics [editline]19th December 2014[/editline] for example, how will you rack focus if both hands are on grips? taking your hand off will cause the camera to tilt and ruin the shot. also exerts unnecessary strain on your arms
