I have one myself. Got it from amazon for like 15 bucks. It works sometimes, but most of the time it's just dead. The person selling it was nice enough to give me a refund but still let me keep the camera. So it's a nice shelf camera. Would be nice to get it fixed though.
I have a few questions guys... I've really been having some fun with my 600D (T3i) Lately but I'm not so happy with the photo quality...
I'm wondering if its the poor optics of the lens or the camera... Here are some examples.

600D is one of the best consumer DSLRs for image quality, it's definitely the lens. My 550D is tack sharp with a 70-200 f/4L or a 17-55 f/2.8
Shooting at f/5.6-8 will help, but not by much. Slap some L glass on that bitch.
I upgraded from a 400D and a cheap 75-300 f/4-5.6 because of image quality, it was definitely the lens doing it, although the 400D was shite at noise performance.

I got this but it doesn't work :( it seemed like it would be fun to shoot with
Clean the battery compartment with a cotton swab soaked in white vinegar, it could be battery acid. That got my maxxum 9000 working (takes 2 AA as well) and it didn't really look corroded. Also make sure you use alkaline batteries, I don't think lithium ones were common in the 90's so the voltages might not work.
HOLY SHIT, IT WORKED.
But I don't have film.

from what i can tell it looks like your photos missed focus. that could be due to the lens, or just your camera body and lens not being aligned (which you can't really do anything about as the t3i doesn't have micro adjust). stop down the lens a bit, it should make it sharper and a deeper DoF, as well as increasing contrast. i'm not sure which 70-210mm lens you have, but it seems to me like focus is the issue, not the optical quality of the lens itself.
Been fixing to sell all my gear to buy the Leica M and the Leica 35 1.4. Just an idea, but I'm considering it more and more everyday. Also no idea if I'd like the silver or black better.
NOOOOOOOOO
y?

Nex FF soon, about $3k in price. Cheaper than Leica and its getting a line of zeiss FF primes, plus you can adapt Leica lenses, or any lenses you want.
But it's not got the Leica logo on it!

If they put that sensor into the body of the nex 7 it will be perfect.

That's certainly something to do with the lens, not the camera itself. I have a 60D, which has the same sensor in it, the image quality, especially with the 50mm F1.8 II lens I got today, is amazing even when zoomed in.
If they put that sensor into the body of the nex 7 it will be perfect.
That's what it's rumored to be. The 7 is quite a piece of kit by itself, with a full frame sensor it's going to be even more modular. You get native nex lenses, support for all alpha lenses with AF and the like with an adapter, then stopped down metering and manual focusing with all old lenses from adapters. Seriously it's going to be so cool

damn it bopie now you got me wanting a rangefinder!

Why is a brand new Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AIS more expensive than a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AF-S Silent Wave series G?
Why is a brand new Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AIS more expensive than a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AF-S Silent Wave series G?
Collectors and lack of supply.

because silent wave g sounds like ricer terminology

i ask myself the same question every night while lying in bed
just picked up an Olympus OM-1 off of ebay.
it's my first camera so I'm pretty excited

Doesn't seem like a fault of the camera...

Special thanks o frag4life who helped me out with the purchase and educated me about the Leica.
For some reason now I just want a Voigtländer 15mm to go with it. IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!
Incase anyone is interested, I have my Nikon FM2 and Nikkor 10-24 up for sale on ebay.co.uk. I'll have a Lowepro 180 Nova AW and a D7000 for sale soon too.
I don't know why but aperture priority mode on a 60D can be very annoying.
Sometimes it over exposes and sometimes it underexposes.
Messing with the exposure dial all day. Sometimes I would have to go +2 and-1 on the same subject...
I have a Minolta x700, and I love it to death, but its max shutter speed is 1/1000. Should I invest in a film slr with a faster shutter? I am 100% ok with manual focus and aperture, I just think I need a more professional slr.
What lenses do you have for it? If you have some nice ones you could look into getting a minolta XK (has 1/2000 which is just 1 stop). Honestly I would say use a polarizer, it blocks about 2 stops of light. There aren't many film cameras made for manual focusing with 1/4000th shutter, and even less that surpass that.

I have two really nice lenses, a Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7 and a Rokkor-X 45mm f/2 pancake lens. I heard that the x-700 was the last manual focus camera that minolta made.
The x-700 was the last one so its the most advanced, but the XK has a higher max shutter. But yeah I would say get a polarizer that fits both your lenses. It will help with having a larger aperture.
