Does it have to be a "DSLR"? Can it be mirrorless?
I suppose, but I really hate using the screen as a viewfinder. Its the worst.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 and X-E1?
Nex 6 is also nice, they are very cheap for what you get. And you can use your old minolta lenses if you want.

So would a Electric View Finder work or does it have to be optical?
the nex 6 can use md mount lenses?
With adapters the nex can use any lens ever made practically. They become a tad unwieldy with the adapters and long lenses, but it's possible. I used Canon FD lenses on my nex for a while but I got a sigma 30mm and used that a lot. The manual lenses are very easy to use but you can't get very wide angle (about 24mm before the lenses get too long) l. I had a lot of fun with it and got great images, but u use my a77 more now because I got better lenses for it

If you are interested in shots with your lenses just search "lens name nex" on Flickr and it should pop up
I think my tiny f/2 45mm rokkor-x would be perfect

With the adapter it's not so tiny anymore unfortunately :(

Yashica Electro 35 GS?
I have a 60D and I want to get into using old, vintage lenses for photography and videography. What do I need to know?

Your choices are m42 or Nikon. M42 are easier to find, and probably cheaper. I would recommend looking for takumar brand lenses, they are really good. The super takumar 50mm 1.4 is nice, and they have some other good lenses. Mostly wide angle will be about 28 or 24 which won't be that wide in 16:9 crop, and 24mm lenses get pretty pricey.
Also the Carl zeiss jena 35mm f2.4 flektagon red MC is a cool lens if you can find it at a good price. Wide open isn't the best but it has 1:2 macro so you can throw things pretty far out of focus (entirely) if you want. It runs about the same price as a canon 35mm f2 though.
Overall the "best" cine primes on a budget are the C/Y contax lenses, but those are expensive

My school has old, vintage film SLRs such as the Canon AE-1 and Minolta XG-M. Forgot which lenses were on the Canon AE-1 (I'm guessing it's 24, 28 and 50mm primes) but could I use those old vintage lenses on my 60D without any adaptors? I don't even know if those lenses are EF mount. If so, I shouldn't run into any problems besides no AF. Maybe mold, dust and dirt from the inner element of the lens/mount.

Pic I posted more than half a year ago on this thread (or similar).
You won't be able to use any of them without glass adapters, which destroy image quality.

Because those lenses are most likely all Canon FD...
Yes, and the minolta lenses will not work either.

So I can use any of those lenses without any adapters at all? Including Nikon lenses?

No you do need adapters, but they don't have glass so they don't harm the optical qualities of the lens.
Ok, so here's what I've got in regards to my previous posts.
Minolta Close Up Lens 55mm No. 0
Minolta Close Up Lens 55mm No. 1
Minolta Close Up Lens 55mm No. 2
Minolta MC Tele Rokkor - QF 1:3.5 200mm (with a PRO Skylight (1a) 62mm attached)
Minolta MC Tele Rokkor - PF 1:2.8 135mm (with a HOYA Skylight (1b) 55mm attached)
Minolta MC W. Rokkor - SG 1:35 28mm (with a HOYA Skylight (1b) 55mm attached)
Kenko MT Auto Teleplus 2x
Toyo Optics +1 49mm
Toyo Optics +2 49mm
Toyo Optics +3 49mm
And some extension tubes
They are decent lenses, nothing that I would use personally though. Certainly not worth buying a mirrorless camera just for use with them
Decent lenses, but not decent enough to buy a adapter for your and certainly not a mirrorless imho.
The Russian Leica Copies are not bad, but god they are dificult to put back together.

I'm currently trying to sort out a FED 1f. I've attached new shutter curtains but putting the shutter crate back to the top-plate is very difficult.
Hopefully I'll get it back together at some point.
