decisions... can't wait to try out trix, provia and fp4+
post some provia scans once you've shot it, i'd like to see dem e-6 colors
post some provia scans once you've shot it, i'd like to see dem e-6 colors
I will of course. Although my shitty scanner and bad editing skills won't accuratly represent the colors. I actually planned on trying it out pushed to 1600 but then again I don't know when I would need that much speed.

I'm a huge fan of the Ilford Films, especially FP4+, if you want I'll see if I can find some 35mm scans.
i picked this up at the local thrift store its a Yashica Lynx-5000, A rangefinder from 1964, with a f/1.8, and a top shutter speed of 1000. Very clean and solid, except that the shutter is stuck. Gotta fix that.
i like my new minolta macro lens i got, it's really sharp. color rendering isn't as good as my sony 16-50mm (blacks come out as more purple on the mino) but having close focus is nice. AF works surprisingly well and quick, I thought not having a focus limiter would be a problem but it's not! it won't see much action but it's damn nice probably going to sell my canon fd 50mm macro because it's not really useful anymore, i can't use flash on my nex so it's not good for here's a shot of the other mino lens i got! Would a 28 2.8 give decent bokeh? looking to get into wide angle shooting because I've shot on a 50 1.9 for so long that I'm starting to feel restricted but I want to keep shallow DoF...
You get some bokeh but it's pretty limited. A wide is a completely different way of shooting, depth of field is not necessary and can often look out of place on a wide angle shot.
Cheers mate, I'll look into it:)

[editline]11th August 2013[/editline] this is a 24 2.8 @ 2.8 on 1.6x Canon crop and the same lens of a 35mm Canon camera. I am kind of new into the whole photography scene, and I wanted a camera with nice video capabilities, so yesterday I was in the city and I decided to stop into Best Buy (since B&H was closed) and buy a Nikon D5200 with the basic 18-55mm lens. I went Nikon because I had been recommended them by a lot of people and my older sister already has a D3100 with a 55-200mm lense, so if I ever need to do any sports photography I can use that lens. how bad did I do?
Wise to go with Nikon because you and your sister can share that 55-200 and any future lenses.

Was just curious if it was worth buying a new lens for the extra speeeeed?

[editline]11th August 2013[/editline] what's the thoughts on superia 800 and how can i get it cheap?

I saw a minolta x-570 at goodwill for 5 bucks and figured what the heck. Right now I have no idea if it works because apparently there's no mechanical release (maybe that's a giveaway,) but in the meantime does anyone know of a fine all around lens for snapping I should look for? From what I can gather, it's got the MD variant of the SR bayonet.

The mino 35-70mm f3.5 and 24-50mm f4 lenses are good zooms if you can find them for a decent price
6 years is still a long time
I've shot a few rolls and got the expected results.
So my Canon Rebel XS broke, the switch turns past the On/Off. I should have never lent it to my step-dad or sister. Ugh. Apparently it's easier to just buy a new used one than getting a rubbish old one fixed. So now I'm looking on Kijiji. Anyone got recommendations for $400 price range? I was looking at a Nikon D3100, and Canon EOS T3. Only ones I could find that were recommended by other places, within that price range. Something with video would be nice, but not needed.
try scope out a 600D/T3i or something like that, way better than T3 and video and stuff
try scope out a 600D/T3i or something like that, way better than T3 and video and stuff
I could only find a T3i for $450 for just the body. No 600D's in sight :<
I could only find a T3i for $450 for just the body. No 600D's in sight :<
600D is the T3i. Try digitalrev?
600D is the T3i. Try digitalrev?
Only one on it is around $630 with a kit.
Only one on it is around $630 with a kit.
try used or save up, it's worth it.
try used or save up, it's worth it.
Well, I can afford it. It's just that I wasn't really looking to spend that kind of money. Actually I found this; http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-electronics-Canon-Rebel-EOS-T3-with-Lights-and-extras-W0QQAdIdZ512510685 Which isn't far away from me. and http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-cameras-camcorders-Canon-EOS-Rebel-T3-W0QQAdIdZ512741499 For $100 less, but without the extras. I'm gonna be gone from the computer here, so I'll come back later. Maybe you can add me to steam and discuss this later? :)
thinking about getting a split prism for my d3100, any tips or suggestions?
D3100 is pretty good, my sister has one and I have used it. @satansin
thinking about getting a split prism for my d3100, any tips or suggestions?
Is obviously only useful if you're going to do lots of manual focussing. Do you have a nice manual focus lens, then?
