Is obviously only useful if you're going to do lots of manual focussing. Do you have a nice manual focus lens, then?
Yeah, of course, there would be no point otherwise.
I've been hunting down a dslr that would replicate using a simple manual slr in the closest way possible, and now I am craving the sony a850.

Its damn small, its light, its full frame, and its around $1,500. I'm thinking of saving up and getting one, but I was wondering if anyone had one, and could tell me more about it.
I've been looking into an a850 too, they are great cameras. Durable as all hell, great controls, one of the best viewfinders available (well the a900 anyway, has been debated though), and below ISO 400 it performs among the best full frame cameras. For manual focusing you can get an M screen which helps, but no split prism. But yes it is quite a similar experience to manual SLR cameras
I think I might get one as it would be a good compliment to my a77 (like polar opposites in cameras), but haven't got the money and samyang primes seem a bit difficult to use as opposed to on the a77 or a99 so I would have to sell my 24mm and get a sig 35mm. So I guess I might save up but I'm not entirely sure at this point
If I can bargain this guy down to $400 or so, would it be worth it?

A 32GB Class 10 does add to its value and apparently it's in mint condition. 450 bucks is already a good deal on that.

You can get a better 32gb class 10 at Staples for $25, the Sandisk Ultra 32GB Class 10. 30MB/s read, 10MB/s write. Or a SanDisk Extreme 32GB Class 10 45MB/s Read, 20MB/s write at Aden Camera for $39.99.

Ah, you are right.
The point of the mint-condition camera still stands, though - he can ask extra because of that. If money is really an issue, you can simply find one that's in used condition (but not too much, obviously).

Well, right now I was thinking about splitting it with my step-dad. But because he's slow, and apparently he knows people that can magically fix our old camera... I highly doubt I'll get on this deal in time. The person who left the advert did not put a number to call, sadly.
So my Canon Rebel XS broke, the switch turns past the On/Off. I should have never lent it to my step-dad or sister. Ugh. Apparently it's easier to just buy a new used one than getting a rubbish old one fixed.
So now I'm looking on Kijiji. Anyone got recommendations for $400 price range? I was looking at a Nikon D3100, and Canon EOS T3. Only ones I could find that were recommended by other places, within that price range.
Something with video would be nice, but not needed.
Uh. Insurance?
Uh. Insurance?
The warranty is gonezo.
A warranty is ot the same as an insurance.
i kinda want to insure my new laptop and camera and such, but i dunno if i can afford it.
Household insurance should cover most stuff?
That's why most of my stuff is "bought by" my parents.

The max aperture (measured in f-stops). In this case, on a zoom lens, the max aperture at 70mm would be f/4 and the max aperture at 300mm would be f/5.6

the G means nothing, must be a nikon thing

I think the G means the lens doesn't have an aperture ring, whereas a D would mean it did.
It took Nikon a long time to implement aperture control on the camera I'm not sure why
But as a bonus most G lenses are weather sealed (I think) and have silent motors. G lenses are very worth the premium over D lenses
Thinking of picking up the new Sigma 35mm 1.4, the reviews are insane, better than both its Canon and Nikon equivalents which are both over £500-600 more.
Anyone here had any experience with it?
Haven't used it personally but it is a great lens for sure. If you have FF it's very good, with great wide open performance

My dream camera
I have a Canon t3i 600d and I was wondering if it is a common fixable problem when recording at 720p,
the video that comes out after is spamming static greens and other colors on the video clips.
Is this a problem on my end or should I return the camera because 1080p works completely fine.
post example
As it turns out when playing the 720p my entire monitor freaks out... I had youtube open in the background and parts of it got pixilated.

Fuck me. I let a friend barrow my T3i and the kit lens 18-55mm.
I got it back and did not check it. Later I went to go take some photo's and the view finder has all kinds of dust particles and shit on it and the mirror is dirty...
I took the lens off and looked threw the viewfinder at a light and it looks like the viewfinder has TONS of scratches on it and blurry. Plus now the "focus" red light is berly visible...
Should I send it to canon? Or should I try to realign the viewfinder screen and clean it?
Keep in mind I have no "delicate" tools and no "dust free" area to work.
[editline]fgifgnh[/editline] www.usa.canon.com/repair says my camera is still under warranty wooooooooo.
Still I would like y'all inputs on this, the berly visible red dot makes me wanna send it off.
Send it off, I guess.
Also, hide something smelly in your friend's room.
Sounds like it needs a new focusing screen. One should never touch or try to clean the focusing screen with anything but air. If you do you will damage it. I learnt this the hard way as well.
Also, NO WAY canon will repair this under warranty. This is damage done by a outsider/misuse and not a production fault of the camera. So you or your friend has to pay to get this fixed.
