Scope goodwill, I got my v500 for $5, it took a few months to find a power cable (was $2.50), and then I ordered a film tray for it (~$20 shipped).
People donate them because they lose the power cables or never used the film function and buy all in one printer scanners. It didn't take me long to find one, probably like 3 visits from when I realized I could get one there. Craigslist is an option too

Damn you americans and your goodwill. I heard too many stories of people finding treasures there. Why can't we have something like this in europe. Maybe I should open one :v:

Stuff like that Leica picture doesn't happen often at this point. Pretty much every goodwill I've been to prices cameras out the wazoo as they decided they are super rare or something. Best deal I've gotten was a Nikon 50mm 1.8 MF lens for $10 and that was years ago, haven't found much decent since. Some decent priced Minolta Maxxum gear, but nothing extraordinary. Most people who are naive about pricing go to Craigslist.
But electronics are another thing, there are so many out there and it's difficult to tell what makes one better than another, especially something as obscure as a scanner. Looking on my Craigslist I found a v500 for $50 that was a complete set. Very good price for what you get.
I bet you could find all-sorts in the late 80s/90s for nearly nothing, before the internet happened and now you can find out the general worth of something in about 30 seconds.
Since I have my 7D, I'm thinking of selling my T2i, (with the accessories) a battery grip with two extra batteries. (So that makes three batteries total) and four memory cards. (Two 16 GB Class 10, and two 8GB class 6)
The kitlens on my t2i is broken so I don't know what I'll do with it.
I'm also thinking of selling my 28-135 I bought awhile back along with it.
So the final price I'm going for is around 500-600 dollars for everything.
And with the money I may try to purchase a tokina fish eye or a 24-105 L lens.
If I sell the stuff i mentioned I'll just have my 7D, 70-200 MM F/4, and my 50MM F/1.8. So I may go awhile without an "all around" lens since I'll probably be deciding on whether or not to purchase a used 24-105 or a new Tokina.
So, basically.. what do you guys think? Good deal? Decent plan?

Best I can do is $5
I have two unused lenses that have never been used, a Tamron AF28-80mm F/3.5-5.6 and Tamron AF70-300mm F4-5.6 Macro for Nikon AF cameras. I'm thinking of selling them for $50 and $140 respectively if anyone is interested?

Need some advice guys:
Current gear:
Fujifilm Finepix S3 Pro
Nikkor 50mm 1.8
Nikkor AF 50mm 1.8 D
Nikkor AF 28-80mm 3.3-5.6 G
Nikkor AF-S 18-70mm 3.5-4.5 G ED
Sigma DC 18-200mm 3.5-6.3 D
Nikkor Zoom 50-300mm 4.5
Now, i've had this camera for ages and slowly built up my lens collection, for those unfamiliar with fuji's pro cameras, they are usually based on Nikons with a fuji made ccd and stuff, this one is based on a Nikon F80. I maintain that it's a great camera but there's some things it's seriously showing it's age with, buffer is tiny for RAW and i end up waiting in excess of 20 seconds after 4 or 5 shots for playback or further picture taking. (end up shooting most things in jpg 6mp) Playback with an empty buffer will take about 2-3 seconds, which may not sound long but in use, it is, especially when compared to newer cameras. Small low-res, awful viewing angle screen. Basic live-view (30 secs max so the ccd doesn't overheat, only B/W).
But it is a pro-grade dslr so it has good customisable set-ups with more options than you can shake a stick at, and lots of buttons and thumbwheels for really efficient control and quick access to most vital options. It is also the most comfortable camera to hold. Ever. Perfect grip shape, the right amount of rubberization on the front, sides and back, everywhere your right hand touches is rubber (has a built in battery grip so it does take up your whole hand), and the thumb indention is huge and feels very well designed.
Jaanus will back me up here, as he told me this himself last time he held my camera.
What I want:
A new camera. - One that will take my F mount DX lenses. Again, for those unfamiliar with my stuff, the Nikkor AF and the Sigma DC stuff all needs in-body focus, i only have the one AF-S lens.
Features i'd like: (doesn't have to match all, but as many as possible)
Takes half-decent video
Flip out screen
3.0" screen minimum
maximum levels of comfortableness in-hand
Good controls. The more buttons the better imo, efficiency is key!
fast everything - focus/ui/recording/playback
Stuff i don't care about:
Touch screen bullshit
Size
Weight
Storage media
Max-shutter speeds
Shit loads of focus points - i make do fine with 5
In-camera post processing stuff (pano, hdr)
Budget:
Whatever it takes.
Now, if anyone can make a convincing enough argument that all my lenses are shit and i should get a canon camera, i might be willing to switch but it seems a little silly at this stage.
I've already researched and could post my findings but anyone reading this and has answers for me will already know all that, so i'm saving time.
I'm going on a road trip of the USA in june, so need my new camera by then.
You'll have a hard time finding something Nikon (so it'll fit those lenses) and not entry level with a flip out screen.
Sounds like a D600 would do you fine, especially with those lenses.
Is it worth getting a full frame camera for DX lenses?
I'll be stuck with these for a while if i blow my savings on a D600 and will have to put up with the restrictions that will impose.
Oh sorry, I was looking at those lenses and thought they were all full frame.
Maybe a D7100? Its got a pretty good price and is the current flagship Nikon DX format DSLR.
As far as specs and built quality go, it's meant to be top notch.
I came to that conclusion too, but it seems disproportionately expensive to the D7000, i guess it comes down to user experience at this point. If anyone has used either, please let me know your impressions.

The D7000 takes half decent video, but its not as great as the Canons video in the same level, in regards to framerate options and customisation you can do on camera: you cannot change the aperture when in live view on the nikon, only shutter and ISO. You'll want it on a tripod or steadycam anyway, as I think most people agree its difficult to watch shaky shutter rolled footage where the focus dips in and out.
The screen is nice and crisp, a great step up for me considering I went from a D3100.
Its got a great feeling in your hands, very solid so you won't mind it taking some abuse.
The user settings I never used but they're good to have, but again compared to the D3100 it was a great step up in terms of controls.
Its pretty fast in general use, focus, ui, I don't remember it being slow.
I was going to recommend the D5100 when you said flip out screen but you need a focus motor which the D7000 has, which is more useful.
I'm sorry I can't say much more. I got into analog photography last year but as of now, I just take the odd photo on my Lumia. I last took about 100 photographs on my D7000 over summer of last year, but even then I would rather use my analog cameras. I keep it just incase I may need it, but very tempted to sell if I could clean it up considering renting for any photo jobs makes more sense.
I would defiantly recommend the D7000 if you got a good price on one, but I would also recommend you compare the D7000 and D7100 in store, and see if it really justifies the steep price. The lenses you have are okay, sharing quite a few focal lengths though. What you need to prioritise is spending to get higher quality, faster lenses as they will last you the longest. Defiantly hold out before the USA trip, as the bodies will likely drop a tad in price in the next two months.

Would shipping to europe be fine?
I'd pay the fees of course.
You'd be paying about £20+ in postage, which would negate the point.
Yeah it says it costs like $60 to ship to Europe with USPS I think haha. Though I'm thinking of just keeping them if I could buy a good compatible Nikon for cheap. How much would a lensless cam cost?

You mean body?
Well you could grab a D3100 or D5100 for 350-400$ ish I believe.
For video
Rode ntg2 or zoom h4n
Which first?
h4n
ntg2 is XLR so unless you have a DX box, it's useless.
the h4n on the other hand has a decent built in mic as well.

Get the h4n first, then you can get the NTG-2 when your budget allows and use the two in tandem.
