i just want to use all manual lenses on my nikon i want the quality and small size of my rokkor lenses on a digital sensor i should save up for an a850
I'm kind of wondering when my eventual upgrade/sidegrade will come. Been using a D90 since 2009, and no signs of ever needing anything else. Image quality at regular ISOs really hasn't changed much for a decade, it's mostly high ISO performance that's changed.

You could get a Sony a7 and use them, but I wouldn't recommend that unless you have some really good lenses
Isn't the a7 amazing though? It is about $1000 more expensive, though.
well, dumped £60 on an anamorphic so hopefully it'll be good
almost got a Mamiya RB67 pro SD for £50 but then some pleb bid it up to £100 in the last hour, then it went up to £268 in the last few minutes. [editline]20th October 2013[/editline] although im now bidding on a chinon 50 1.4 and its at £50.04 ($80) with p&p at £9.27 ($15)

Basicly a must on eBay as every smart buyer is doing it.
Don't have enough credit to get a loan for this in time :C

You also don't know how high the other person budded over what it sold for. If you are trying to get cheap online deals, become a member of the forum fredmiranda.com, they've got a lot of private sales that almost always go for less than the eBay average. Harder to find specific things, but there are great deals there.
i know what it is like but i just got sad at the huge price hike :(
Most all bidding takes place within the last hour of an auction, primarily in the last 2 minutes. Jumping a ton of money is normal. With eBay you need to set your high limit (personal limit you would want to pay), and just keep trying that price on items over time. Probably the best way to get a good deal, a lot of patience and willing to lose.
Aye, sounds about right.. dunno why I was even wanting it tbh, uni has like 30 of them I can use whenever
Selling off some shit to buy a D5100. Am I making a good choice? Guy's gonna take $400 cash for body + stock lens + camera bag and other stuff.

It's under the [ x Bids ]
There's a list of bids you can view, you can't see who bid but you can see the highest amount. It's under the [ x Bids ]
you can see the current highest, but that bidder might have put their max at more than the current bid is going for. Like the item's highest visible bid could be $160, but that bidder might have put $180 as their max, but since $160 hasn't been beaten it won't show up as a higher amount
So I played with the 24-105 f/4L IS by Canon on a T2i earlier and I noticed that the lens doesn't do that thing I talked about a while back when the exposure would get brighter and then darker when you zoom in and vice versa. Doesn't happen regardless of F-stop. I have yet to actually hear whether it moves the aperture blades or not. In other news, it's an awesome lens for video. In more related news, Sigma is coming out with their own version.
Picked up a really good condition Minolta 24-105mm D 3.5-4.5 for $110 today, I'm excited about it. Going to sell my 24-50mm f4 now, should be able to get about the same amount and basically break even. Wanted a decent range zoom for video, hopefully it will work alright.
Well my fucking phone is dying, god this pisses me off, can't afford to replace it :( Have to hold off lenses for a LOOOOONG time.

I only have primes should I get a telephoto
telephotos are okay. i mean i like having mine, but it's not something that i use very often. despite that i wouldn't ever sell it.
i have never really found a need for one
i have never really found a need for one
Taking pictures of stuff that is far away like a bird on a tree or have shallow depth of field at smaller apertures.
i liked the hemorrhoid cream analogy for telephotos
i have never really found a need for one
There are always moments when I wish I had a tele lens. But they are just too rare to justify buying one. Like here I could have used a ~100mm lens.
what stopped you from walking across the street :^)
The perspective would change ;~P
The perspective would change ;~P
I got an RX100 specifically for longer shots as it's tiny and gets to an equiv of 100mm on the long end. Bringing a long prime is a bit limiting, but it works for when I need it.
Chinon 50 1.4 for ~£60 posted on it's way, excited man
my anamorphic arrived. holy crap once this thing is focused it is SHARP. so i went out drunk last night and decided to shoot something [editline]24th October 2013[/editline] *sorry this is 1280 wide*~~56k warning [editline]24th October 2013[/editline] sharppppp
