I just got a nice konica c35 automatic for $5 bucks lil baby rangefinder, really nice and clean, all metal, exposure needle works, but there is some nasty film door foam seal corrosion that i got to tackle came with a little nice little leather box camera bag, a roll of expired kodak 400, and a quantaray q15 flash (worlds cheapest flash) still a very good deal!
oops wrong thread [editline]4th January 2014[/editline] Snapsort is junk
i don't think it's that bad for just comparing features esp if someone asks you hey should i buy x camera or γ camera like if you ignore the "winner" thing and the wack prices it's pretty useful
My grandparents gave me some of their old cameras, I got a: Yashica M124-G, Minolta Insta Pro, GAF Super 8, and a Polaroid Polavision Land Camera.
new nikon 35mm f/1.8g lens too bad its going to be $700 :( also d3300 and new kit lens but whatever
Anyone got A mount minolta lenses for sale/trade/giveaway :P
Anyone got A mount minolta lenses for sale/trade/giveaway :P
I have a mino 35-70mm f4 with an oily aperture that I'd sell for $15 plus ship if you are interested haha
Haha, thanks anyway, think I'll give that a pass for now ;)
I have FD lenses if you are into adapting those, have a 50mm 1.4, 50mm f3.5 1:2 macro with 1:1 tube, and an 80-200mm f4 (non L) that are just sitting around
The FD 50 f/3.5 macro is a dream on the A7. It's just SO sharp all over (from wide open already). Definitely recommended by me.
Hm, I should get a FD to EF mount adapter, my school has some Canon AE-1 with lenses collecting dust.
Hm, I should get a FD to EF mount adapter, my school has some Canon AE-1 with lenses collecting dust.
Don't bother with FD to EF. I've said before why it's not going to work.
[insert reference to post]
Here you go:
Buy the Zuiko 35mm f/2 and the Sigma 28mm f/2.8 if it's NOT a Minolta MD or Canon FD mount. Otherwise it won't fit on your eos with a normal adapter and the glass adapters sucks, no matter what anyone says about them. The glass adapters suck. All of them.

Canon FD lenses on the EOS isn't going to work because of the different register distance, which requires the adapter to have glass. Those glass adapter totally ruin your image quality because of the cheap ass glass they use in it(even more so on high resolution camera's like the 7D), so not worth the money you have to pay for them. On top of that, those adapters work like a teleconverter, taking away light sensitivity of the lens. The lenses may seem to be cheap, but the only things they can be mounted on cheaply and without losing image quality are the mirrorless camera's. Though it IS possible to adapt some nice lenses like the FD 55mm f/1.2 (SSC) or FL 55mm 1.2 on the EOS. But it requires you to get a adapter from this guy: http://www.ebay.com/sch/ed_mika/m.html He also sells conversion kits for most newFD prime lenses. But as you can see, the adapters are quite expensive, taking away the point of the lenses being cheap (unless you already have them). So, long story short: FD lenses on EOS is not worth the hassle.
new sigma lenses but the only new cool thing is the 50mm f/1.4 "art" for full frame and aps-c sensors excited to see what else CES brings
Curious to see if it smokes the Nikon 58mm 1.4 and the ZA 50mm 1.4 Crazy to see how much the company turned around in one year
Nah the new sigma super zoom is more interesting :v:
speaking about gear, I think I maybe finally somewhat almost sold the remaining "main" items I was trying to get rid of, which should leave me with an estimated $370-$400. I am thinking I could buy a nikon 35mm f/1.8g for $160 using the tiny store credit I got from the d7100 retailer, and then with the remaining $200 I was thinking about picking up a yongnuo 565ex flash for $100 or maybe a used nikon SB-600 for $200, although I am in pretty dire need of a new tripod so that might take priority over getting a $200 flash unit. [editline]6th January 2014[/editline] i found a nice tripod on b&h for like $80 that goes to 6 feet tall, supports 11 or 16 pounds or something and can be converted into a monopod so that all seems really nice but it weighs like 6 pounds which I guess is heavy for a tripod so im apprehensive

Damn camera stuff being expensive :(
I'm almost certain I've shot 4 rolls of film in 2013, but I just had a look and while there are 4 rolls, I've only marked three of them. The unmarked roll is of a variety I know I shot (Tri-X 400) so I'm scared to put it in my camera. On the other hand, I don't want to have it developed and just be a bunch of blanks. All that said, I've looked all over my room, backpack, and camera bag and I can't find any other rolls of Tri-X. Does anyone imagine any Walgreens or Costco or the like would just check to see if there's exposures or not and return the film if it's unused?
Curious to see if it smokes the Nikon 58mm 1.4 and the ZA 50mm 1.4 Crazy to see how much the company turned around in one year
Fujifilm just announced a 56mm f/1.2 for APSC cams. Another side contender.
Fujifilm just announced a 56mm f/1.2 for APSC cams. Another side contender.
should be a great performer, but a bit different overall as it's designed for APS-C only and not FF. the fuji more competes with the panasonic 42.5mm 1.2 that was announced, and the fuji is at a significantly lower price which is rather crazy

Or just whack it through your camera again. Worst case scenario, you get a bunch of double exposures.
ye just underexpose by 1.4 stops
made me want to take a roll and shoot at half exposure times and then shoot it through my camera twice - summer experiment
it's not a bad idea! but if the roll is the the one i'm thinking of, which i have since deduced that it is thanks to eltro, there are some photos in there that i want to keep. :v: wouldnt mind doing it with my two tlr rolls though. those are just for shits and giggles anyway.
played with a nikon FM in school today and a 50mm f/1.8 AIS wow the focusing is surprisingly easy with the focus screen but the one in the camera was odd thinking about getting a nikon film SLR for my birthday but none of my current lenses would work on an old one so I might have to get whatever the cheapest and oldest one is that works with G lenses [editline]8th January 2014[/editline] or i could just get an FM and nifty fifty for $100 and only use the 50
there's so much more variety in the film world outside of slrs check some of that shit out
i honestly dont know much about film and film cameras but I remember when I was younger at camp they had a photography activity and I loved using the manual film SLRs and thats what got me into photography [editline]8th January 2014[/editline] i have a hardon for the leica m6
I've had an X-E2 for about a month now so I've had some good shooting time with it. Paired with the super cheap, sharp and tiny 18mm f/2 it has been the best decision I've ever made with photography, smaller is better. I thought the EVF wouldn't be as good as an OVF but you can see so much more when it's dark, it has the amazing ability to amplify light and I've not noticed any lag. It looks like I'm looking through an enhanced OVF. So that's it, I'm sold on mirrorless, I'm recommending this over SLR bodies. Same quality, way more convenient package.
