I kind of realized that I'm too lazy to process my RAW files... And that's why I have a crap ton that's using up so much storage.
What do you guys think of speed boosters? Looking at the nikon to MFT one... negating the crop a little and giving more light sounds great.
The official one is pretty great, the off brands not so much

Reason why I fucking LOVE my A7 Alot of those shadows were SOOOOO close to being crushed, I'm blown away.
because raw?
Because doing that in base ISO on a canon would band the fuck out, plus that's a double compressed jpg, the lack of noise is astonishing.

Just went looking for some mini tele 135mm for this Ricoh K bajonet mount, found a Panagor 135mm f/2.8 for 5 euro. Hope it hasn't been capped yet.
how high was the person who thought of the samsung galaxy nx [editline]11th January 2014[/editline] and who would even buy one, an A7 is like the same price
It seems that sony sensors can recover shadows well but highlights clip out pretty fast.
But it's far easier to underexpose an image than it is to recover from overexposing.
is a UV filter a good way to protect a lens front or should I buy the nikon screw in metal hood?
is a UV filter a good way to protect a lens front or should I buy the nikon screw in metal hood?
go get both
the 24mm i just bought comes with a hoya UV im not sure if its the cheapo one or better one ill ask
Write whatever the filter has written
will putting the batteries in backwards seriously fuck up a camera? I just did this with a Nikon FM3A I just got, the meter and autoexposure don't work, and weirdly the shutter is cocked but won't fire, even though the shutter is mechanical in manual mode.
buy new batteries, you more than likely shorted the batteries and drained those, not the camera [editline]11th January 2014[/editline] id imagine a camera from the last 15 years would have reverse polarity protection
is it normal if every time I buy something I already know what I want next? like I havent even received the 24mm i bought yet and I already know I want my next lens to be like a tokina 11-16 or something wide
you should edit your posts

Once a photographer friend said he had really bad gas and only now do I realise he was talking about that G.A.S. thing. We were talking about our photography equipment and I thought it was something he just mentioned offhand.
im really tempted to bid on a nikon F with photomic metering viewfinder on ebay for $50 with 0 bids and 17 hours left.... [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] fucking reserves
Okay man, I hate for this to be the second time I have to call you out, but all you do is post in gear/off-topic asking about cameras. Maybe you're just more talkative on here than most (as your title suggests) but I'm really curious to see some photos and subsequent improvement from you man. Seriously, just use what you have and go show us what you're seeing. Not only will it develop your 'eye', but it will save your wallet if you can really know why and how you'll use gear.
I bought an LED lamp from ikea to hopefully flush the yellowing out of my 35mm f2 FD lens, really want to load that in my a1 with some ektar so I hope the UV light doesn't take too long to work. Shooting film is hard though on a 365 as it's harder to know when to stop shooting
I bought an LED lamp from ikea to hopefully flush the yellowing out of my 35mm f2 FD lens
Is that a real thing? That's so future.
Is that a real thing? That's so future.
Yeah it's got a thorium element, which is a type of glass that's radiated. Over time the radiation causes yellowing on that element, but UV light is supposed to get rid of yellowing and bring up the T stop to the regular value (the yellow robs a bit of light). I saw the lamp recommended online as working relatively quickly (like a few weeks as opposed to months) so I'm hoping I got the right one and that it delivers. Then I'm probably going to blast some other lenses so they stay clean from fungi (I think there's a tiny spot on my contax 35mm which is a fucking bummer), been throwing silica packets near my gear like crazy haha UV light rocks in sum
okay, so this http://www.metabones.com/products/details/MB_SPNFG-m43-BM1 plus this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/819106-REG/Rokinon_RK24MAFN_24mm_f_1_4_ED_AS.html Should give me great results, no? looking for a good wide angle that can let in lots of light
so I'm in school and I was just filming in the light rain and like 40 degree cold for 10 or 15 minutes and now all my pictures look a bit foggy and I am 70% sure it's the lens how bad is that
fixable, just stick it in your pants (or any other warm place).
okay, so this http://www.metabones.com/products/details/MB_SPNFG-m43-BM1 plus this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/819106-REG/Rokinon_RK24MAFN_24mm_f_1_4_ED_AS.html Should give me great results, no? looking for a good wide angle that can let in lots of light
It'll end up being about a 35mm lens in FF terms, so decently wide. I have the lens and it's pretty good, I recommend it but see if it's cheaper on eBay because I got mine for like $445 (though it was sony mount)
just put it up your bum the temp differential should reverse and undo the fogging
