• I saw a "Liberalism is a Lie, Global Warming is a Hoax" sign in a car's back window today

:foxnews: I agree with Fox News. The Census 2010 was just some socialist plot to make sure all our children end up in the slums.
I understand that the world IS different from 50 or even 100 years ago, but how do we know it isnt just a phase? And if a single volcano erupting emits more greenhouse gas than humans ever have, well then how does that work? I'm not saying Global Warming doesnt exist, but it COULD be a big fat hoax. Both sides have evidence tbh
The problem being that industrial reports show volcanoes don't even touch the charts in terms of greenhouse gas emissions as farms and factories do. For that recycled "It's a climate phase!" excuse, the planet hasn't been anywhere near to these methane and CO2 levels since a few billion years ago. Yeah, sure. It's just that the "against" side's evidence is mostly based on figures pulled out of someone's ass and then circulated.
On a semi-related note, i've also seen a station wagon driving around here with a gigantic "JESUS IS LIFE/LOVE/SOMETHING" sign on the top and passages painted on all the windows. It was more funny than annoying, to be honest.

A better question would be... who the fuck cares? Why do most people on facepunch think they are the moral crusaders fighting the good fight. Examples include 'IM 16 and i halped my friens to stop smokings ims o hardcore and straight edeg', and the ever popular 'Egocentric post about how im awesome and have a foolproof plan to save the world, that is so well informed' Whether its right or not makes little difference to what is going to actually happen - if the world is going to warm, human causes or not, its going to fucking warm. You wont see china or anybody who can actually have an impact significantly reducing carbon emissions scientists advice or not. Please, at least take higher level geology which teaches alternatives in to C02 warming as part of the main syllabus before trying to form a media/internet hype fueled view. People dont bother trying to understand or respect others views. Thats why we have politics with opposing parties, yoyoing backwards and forwards rocking the boat. It'll fucking sink one day.
I went to vegas and saw trucks driving around with pictures of strippers on them.
C'est la vie, eh
My eighth grade science teacher was a creationist who discredited Global Warming at every turn and made everything he disagreed with look stupid. I hated him, yet I was his favorite student. First period was very frustrating that year.
Whatever happened to all of the reasonable conservatives? Oh wait.
:foxnews: I agree with Fox News. The Census 2010 was just some socialist plot to make sure all our children end up in the slums.
Fox News Hates anyone that isn't George Bush and Dick Cheney and friends.
Liberalism IS a lie. So is algebra, and scrambled eggs.
And if a single volcano erupting emits more greenhouse gas than humans ever have, well then how does that work?
Here's a comparison for you. The Volcano in Iceland emits approx. 150,000 metric tonnes of CO2 a day. The US(20% of global CO2 emissions) emits approx. 1,500,000 metric tonnes of CO2 a day. 10 times as much as that volcano. That means that mankind is putting out around 50 times more CO2 emissions a day. Sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CO2_emissions http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/apr/19/eyjafjallajokull-volcano-climate-carbon-emissions
So is algebra
Oh how i would love that to be true :(

Cyclic arguement. They probably use the word lie as it has stronger connotations than simply 'wrong'. Politics is a dirty, and pointless game.
Once again, who cares? Cyclic arguement.
Gaia cares you heartless bastard.
I divorced her long ago, and im not going to pay her any child support. Besides shes a strong girl. She'll survive with or without me.
Once again, who cares? Cyclic arguement.
If someone made a point to type out a (poorly worded) message contradicting me, bet your arse I'll take my time to respond.
If someone made a point to type out a (poorly worded) message contradicting me, bet your arse I'll take my time to respond.
A better response would be: "Im not going to entertain your arguement for one second, you arnt going to listen to mine either, lets be friends and wait until the sea swallows us both"
No, why, could I get him fired? Virginia isn't a very christian/republican place, so I think I might have a chance!
Ok, you DO live in Virginia right? I don't see how you can say it isn't a very republican place.
US. Texas to be specific. Beautiful state, stupid people.
My name is Madman_Andre and I can vouch for this message. The state is completely fucked up, especially the people. Arguably some of the stupidest people ever reside in the East Texas area.
Ok, you DO live in Virginia right? I don't see how you can say it isn't a very republican place.
Northern virginia isn't
I'm intolerant of intolerant people.

You go north from here and it's just flat land and stupid people as far as the eye can see.
I remember when I couldn't walk down a street without seeing at least five to ten Obama bumper stickers. After a four hour roadtrip I took the other day, I only counted three.
Thats a butterfly minded public for you.
Liberalism IS a lie. So is algebra, and scrambled eggs.
Liberalism is the way.
Liberalism is the way.
I think your sarcasm detector is no longer functional.
Whether its right or not makes little difference to what is going to actually happen - if the world is going to warm, human causes or not, its going to fucking warm. You wont see china or anybody who can actually have an impact significantly reducing carbon emissions scientists advice or not.
China's participation is important, but Western powers are just as crucial, and as first-world nations they're under an increasing amount of political and scientific pressure to pass regulations, so yes, there probably will be significant steps made.
Please, at least take higher level geology which teaches alternatives in to C02 warming as part of the main syllabus before trying to form a media/internet hype fueled view.
Geologists are not climatologists, no matter how much they would like to be. And a large portion of geologists are employed in some capacity or another by the oil industry, which is why they, as a field, tend to have the most climate skeptics. That said, your college geology classes, impressive though they may be, are still nowhere near as credible a source as hundreds of published, peer-reviewed climatological studies. And your geology teacher's climate-denial is much more of an "internet hype fueled view" than simple support of the scientific consensus.
If the earth is suddenly warming rapidly, there has to be a reason for it--it doesn't just happen for no reason. Since climatologists haven't found any other credible reason for this warming, and since we already KNOW CO2 traps heat, and the amount of CO2 released correlates with the amount of warming, it's a pretty reasonable conclusion.
You are misinformed, the main producer of global warming by a large margin is water vapor, thus, global warming goes and comes in stages, and isnt nearly as serious as people think.

Calling them misinformed is quite a claim. What's your source?
