I don't know for sure what I'll do with mine, but it will probably involve a gauntlet wrist computer and some small radioshack solar panels.
a VAT? That actually sounds pretty bad ass.
I'm going to get one to help me learn how to program.
OH SHIT GUYS GUYS I NEED A POWER GLOVE AND A RAS PI, RIGHT NOW.
I honestly just want to be able to watch porn on the go.
I honestly just want to be able to watch porn on the go.
Buy a cheap smartphone or tablet.
Buy a cheap smartphone or tablet.
Build a Faputer
Build a Faputer
Built in tissue dispenser.
Going to learn Python.
I had to stop after a while because of school becoming a PITA, though this was very useful: http://learnpythonthehardway.org/
Built in tissue dispenser.
Better yet, build the raspberry pi INTO the tissue box!
I proposed that me and 5 of my closest friends, and one teacher, all buy one and have a huge Quake III Lan Party in class
Buy a cheap smartphone or tablet.
1080p/i porn though.
Okay, quick question; I hear that Class 10 SD Cards are not indeed the fastest for the RasPi. Which type of card should I buy for decent speed?
I'd love to run a skulltag Doom server using one of these.
1080p/i porn though.
Like some smartphones and tablets don't have HDMI out. Oh wait, they do. Don't overcomplicate things when it could be really damn simple.
Like some smartphones and tablets don't have HDMI out. Oh wait, they do. Don't overcomplicate things when it could be really damn simple.
um what? im p sure a majority of smartphones dont have hdmi out, ive yet to see one
um what? im p sure a majority of smartphones dont have hdmi out, ive yet to see one
http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20006625-1.html and this is a phone from 2010.
an article about the first ever phone to use HDMI output is supposed to convince me that HDMI output in smartphones is commonplace?
Because it is. Open this URL: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Android_devices Press CTRL + F. Enter in HDMI. Search. It's getting increasingly common, the HTC Evo 4G was just a tech demo the average Joe could buy which kickstarted the idea of ordinary smartphones having a HDMI port.
so like 7.5% of android phones have hdmi output [editline]3rd March 2012[/editline] which means raspberry pi being a mobile media station is still entirely viable plus why buy a "cheap" tablet/smartphone (phones requiring contracts as well) when you can put $100~ into a raspberry pi
My phone does HDMI out through an MHL adapter. Just saying.
I told my uncle about this over Christmas, in the mean time he managed to forget about them, and then find them again by himself. And then he bought one for myself and him, so it looks like I'm getting one now :v:

If he bought it through any of the Element14 affiliates (Newark, Farnell etc.), they will reduce the quantity to 1 when it comes time for shipping.

Well, just heard about this little gem, and I am really quite intrigued. There are some utterly fantastic ideas here as well, if somewhat... ambitious? I'll be honest, if I decide to shell out on one, I'm not entirely sure what I'd do. But for the price of a game, seriously, not that much can go wrong.

I'm going with that option, personally. Other things being discussed are using it as a seedbox for torrents, the heart of a MAME cabinet, a backup PC that consumes little to no power (It runs off a cellphone charger, without taking the screen into account) and many others.
plus why buy a "cheap" tablet/smartphone (phones requiring contracts as well) when you can put $100~ into a raspberry pi
You can easily get a used, off-contract $100-$150 smartphone with a better CPU, screen, ect. Maybe I should have ordered earlier in the week...

Take Rasberry pi, attach RFID Scanner, put in pocket, aquire credit card numbers.
Defeated by aluminum foil. Faraday Style...
I will list below every single person who I know that wraps their credit card in foil:
