Where does one find their estimated delivery date from farnell?
I don't think there is one, they will email you when they know I guess. Also they won't take any money until the RPi is dispatched either.
Take Rasberry pi, attach RFID Scanner, put in pocket, aquire credit card numbers.
I can assure you that does not work.
I want to buy a Model B, but should I wait? I read somewhere that Model A's now have 512MB of RAM. Will they upgrade the Model B to a similar spec?
yeah that's exactly what I was thinking I wonder if it's possible? I'd love to have a 1000MHz RasPi. :v:
I dont see any point to doing this, it will just degrade the lifespan of the ARM split.
I want to buy a Model B, but should I wait? I read somewhere that Model A's now have 512MB of RAM. So if you have a USB to ethernet adapter (or don't plan on using the ethernet at all) and a USB hub, it's really no different.

I assume they did this so they could buy more 256 MB chips and get a cheaper price.

I ordered this weekend, mines coming April 3rd. Is anyone interested in Wooden cases for their Pi? (stained and stuff, not just shitty) I am 3d printing a model of the board tomorrow, and am going to laser engrave the case with the Logo and and some other embellishments. I will probably ebay them for $20-30. Edit; Can we buy rechargable batteries to power these? I am thinking of buying some NiCd or NiMH batteries from nitroplanes and seeing how they work. Only prob I see is regulating power
no, you can't use rechargeable batteries with electronic devices sorry
I wonder if steam could run one of these.
Who's ordered one very recently and knows the date they're getting shipped. I wanna pre order one but don't want to wait 11ty years.
I wonder if steam could run one of these.
Mini nuclear reactors.
Who's ordered one very recently and knows the date they're getting shipped. I wanna pre order one but don't want to wait 11ty years.
should be fairly easy to do if you really wanted to, it needs only 5 watts of power which is a really tiny amount.
Anyone know if RS or Farnell accept PayPal?
Farnell don't, they only take credit cards online and debit/credit cards over the phone.
should be fairly easy to do if you really wanted to, it needs only 5 watts of power which is a really tiny amount.
5 volts and 700 mA. Not 5 watts
5 volts and 700 mA. Not 5 watts
Which is just under 5 watts. Actually it's roughly 3.5 watts.
5 volts and 700 mA. Not 5 watts
fairly certain that's not maximum considering USB ports should be able to output at least 500ma, and they recommend a 1 amp 5v phone charger i dont think we'll really know untill it's out [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] nevermind, there's limits on the usb ports, fuses, so it shouldnt really need more than 700ma, i just misunderstood

You assholes, you! that admittedly was not my best question
Mini nuclear reactors.
Hamster power!!
Piezoelectric transducers in the soles of your shoes.
Real men still program using an embedded 386. All hail your VM86 Overlords.

Why would you pay $50 ( 35+15 shipping ) just to ruin something. [editline]6th March 2012[/editline]
Real men still program using an embedded 386. If anyone wants measurements of the R Pi, here they are! http://www.scribd.com/doc/77785093/Raspberry-Pi-initial-Beta-boards-Mechanical Thanks to Gert on the Rπ forums.
