A few people from my Sixth Form got to go to Cambridge Uni Computer Labs (My Sixth form is in Cambridge) and try out the Raspberry Pi. They said it was cool.
Apparently I missed the email where you got to sign up to try it out :(
The way things are going with supply and shipping I fully expect to be able to order a cheap clone from DealExtreme before I'll be able to order a genuine Pi. I don't mind, really, I just wish the cloners would hurry the hell up. The availability of people ready to buy these should now be fully proven.
Somehow when I logged onto the site about a week ago from university I managed to pre-order one, but everyone else who tried to log onto the site at home was unable to and could only register their interest.
My expected delivery date is currently the middle of July (Coincidentally on my birthday) but I imagine it'll come sooner.
I think this has been made clear(Despite the waiting period):
$25-35 Linux Microcomputer with one hell of an embedded system, not to mention the upcoming community.
Why the hell would you go with a clone?
Here's an unboxing and initial test:

I hope to Jesus it's sooner. But hey, I'll probably forget and it will be a great surprise if it is accurate.

Nothing arrived yet.
Is that December or March?
March. I ordered at like half 7 GMT.
What are you hoping to do with it?
Port a new distribution to it.

The phrase in quotes is meaningless without realizing it's supposed to be something a moron would say.
These would be great for groups of people wanting to play Age of Empires in one place without lugging their Pcs around with them.

Except these have ARM CPUs, which don't run Windows and thus Age of Empires.
Checked my order status
On back order, new shipment on August.
They postponed it for 5 month? Wow.
At first, my estimated shipping date was March 13th, and now it's the 30th. I hope they don't keep bumping it up like that. Oh well, I'm glad I don't have to wait half a year to get my hands on it
*looks down at watch*
Yup, definitely not June yet... :(
This will work great as my HTPC, shove a 64GB SD card in there and mount to the back of my TV. Good as gold without the need of my giant PC.
Fuck this I'm just going to buy an ITX HTPC.
300 bucks later and I have an ITX case and mobo on the way.
Got some old ram that's going to work fine, and a 2tb hard drive.
RBpi can kiss my ass.
I ordered one on the day after those 2 websites where you can get them from went live (as in not registered interest but actually ordered)
It still hasnt arrived :(

Wasn't it ported to linux?
Wasn't it ported to linux?
was it ported to arm?
Dammit what delayed it this time.
Age of Empires was never ported to Linux, and it sure as hell wasn't ever compiled for ARM.
Hell, you get a Microsoft Game Studios intro video when you boot up Age of Empires 2 (if I remember correctly), that should say something.

Wasn't there an ARM/Xscale port for Windows Mobile devices? Not that it's relevant to the RPi whatsoever, but I seem to remember seeing one somewhere, but I'm probably just being retarded. Rate me boxes if you want.
