I think I'm going to order it today. What time do you think production will be in full swing?
I hope Element14 is right and I am getting my Pi this month.
Also, time to prepare things before its arrival.
every time i see/read this thread i become very sad because i so very want a raspberry pi but i still can't see past this whirlwind of shit that has taken place recently

First batch of Pi shipped today. Most will arrive Monday, but I've arranged to collect mine early tomorrow, since it'll have reached my depot by then.
In other news, my developer device will probably be here tomorrow too. Double dose of Pi, win.
Probably gonna give my second one away via a competition or something once I've finished with it.
Why should one buy model B over model A if you can just get a USB hub and use a wireless USB adapter?

Well factor in the pricetag of a USB hub and a wireless usb stick, and then suddenly the pricetag of a Model B seems more than fair.

Personally I'm trying to keep mine as compact as possible, I've bought a keyboard/mouse wireless dongle that sticks out of the USB port only a few millimetres and a WiFi dongle that sticks out the same amount. The only things I'll need to plug in to my Pi are these dongles, a power cable and a HDMI cable. Super neat!
Personally, I'm gonna get Chrome OS running and then stick it behind the TV for surfing from my sofa.

1 USB port for mouse
1 USB port for keyboard
1 USB port for WiFi Dongle
= 3 USB ports needed right? I thought model B only has 2 USB + 1 Ethernet.
EDIT: Ohhhhh, is the keyboard/mouse dongle 1 device???
And what about USB mass storage devices. SD card memory is only so big.

The keyboard and mouse share a dongle, unified receiver.
4GB SD card is more than enough for Chrome.

Sounds like a good setup. I am extremely tempted to pick one of these tasty little Pi's up.

I'd wait with celebrating until you've gotten a stable build of ChromeOS running on it.
But then I'd be more than happy to shower you in .
Anyone in the US have theirs shipped? I have a feeling they're shipping a bulk amount to the US and shipping them out from there, since people who ordered after me are having theirs shipped, but they're from the UK.
this is great
I am excited even though I live in North America :v
To eliminate some confusion, here's some info I've gathered:
If you have an order from the first batch... (This should go for those who bought from Farnell/E14 or RS Components)
The first batch is only being shipped out today. Estimated deliveries should be updated soon if it hasn't been already.
So, if one lives in the UK, they may have already received it or going to receive shortly in the next few days.
If one does not live in the UK, such as USA or something, they're being shipped from UK over to the distributors in the various countries by air, which then are ground shipped to you, so you can expect your pi in the mail during this week or the coming week.

Now I want to buy one. I don't know where to go to put my name on the list though.

The two sites listed in OP don't seem to ship to the US unless I'm a retard.

I think they only debit your account/card once they receive the Pi on their end, might want to check how many you have actually ordered, although I think they are only allowing 1 Pi computer per person at the moment, so you might be alright.

Use newark if you live in North America. (They are sold out at the moment though. Next batch comes in May so you will have a bit of a wait)

It says lead time is 141 days :(
Edit:
If anyone who got one can get me some pretty accurate measurements of it that would be great. My boss wants to make a case for one with a 3d printer.

That seems a bit crazy to me...
It may not be true, since these distributors have a history of being inaccurate on timing :v:

Sorin vs. Raspi who will win?

i dont even care if they send me 4 pi's i just want to know if i'm going to get one?
god seriously every time i enter this thread i get put in a bad mood, even moreso now because clearly other people were able to order successfully yet despite me being emailed about buying something from the first batch, i've received no indication that i'll be getting a raspberry pi, why the fuck is this so complicated

Wrong, the coin beats both.
