well, having 2 crashed websites is at least better than having no business :v:
Sod it, I've waited long enough, I'll put an order in with RS later after I get some sleep
One man's inspirational story; http://www.reddit.com/r/raspberry_pi/comments/qaz2f/has_anyone_managed_to_actually_buy_one/c3w57cv
I don't have to be at College until 1PM, I'll sleep for a bit later. [editline]29th February 2012[/editline] THE REGISTRATION PAGE FINALLY LOADED!
Hmph, there goes any chances of me getting one tonight. Oh well, still extremely excited to see them finally released, and would be happy to wait a couple more days for it
Yep, fuck this for now, I'll wait till later. Now to get 4 hours of sleep.
Apparently, Farnell does NOT sell to the US.
Apparently, Farnell does NOT sell to the US.
Or Canada. I'm going to bed now.
Nor do they sell in the UK! What the fuck, Farnell?
Just a note you need to have a company to buy from RS.
Apparently, Farnell does NOT sell to the US.
They do, forgot the site tho. http://www.newark.com/
Just a note you need to have a company to buy from RS.
you need to type some rubbish into the "Company" line i highly doubt they'll be asking for verification of your employment in order to sell you a board
They do, forgot the site tho. http://www.newark.com/
Is there a UK one?
Is there a UK one?
Farnell is their uk site.
So, has anyone on FP actually successfully purchased it yet?
It looks like the Australians have gotten some by calling Farnell. Great.
haha apparently the idiots at RS have that "Register your Interest" page because they thought this was for corporate sale instead of private
How can an American like me expect to get one?
0844 7111111 is the Farnell number in the UK if anyone wants to give them a ring.
I have at least been able to register my interest at RS Components. Now I just have to wait and see what happens.
This means they still have a full stock right? Oh well, I have an account now, time to wait for them to fix it.
I'm under the assumption that there's no way I'm going to be able to buy from the US from RS. [editline]28th February 2012[/editline] Or anywhere for that matter.
Ehhhh...fuck it, I'll just wait a few days until all the fuss dies down.
Corin Cole ‏ @CorinCole @Raspberry_Pi Just spoken to an RS support person "waiting for managers to come in" "we don't even have a stock number for it"
Seriously?
Seriously?
Oh wow, I highly doubt this is a last minute thing too, they would have known about the launch for quite some time.
Ketan Majmudar ‏ @ketan RS sales staff thought crank calls coming in as they kept getting asked for @Raspberry_Pi at 6am
It's like the Pi team were the only ones who remotely gave a shit about selling the things.
wow RS is a shitty company [editline]29th February 2012[/editline] i dont think the distributors had any slight clue that this was going to be so big they probably had the raspberry pi guys pitch the deal, and whenever they stressed how much traffic they'd get they just thought "yeah sure, i think we can handle it lmao"
Judging by Twitter, a bunch of Australians somehow ordered it off Farnell, a lot of other people got shit about having to be part of a company to buy it.
Raspberry pi should have limited the first orders to people in the UK seeing as that's where they are based.
yeah go fuck yourselves RS [editline]29th February 2012[/editline] i'm waiting until they're available from Farness or whatever, not buying from these morons
