The Mayan calendar doesn't end on 12-21-12, it just goes into a new age (Year). Does the world end every January 1st?

The only way the world could end that suddenly is if a sudden and very very [b]VERY[/b] powerful coronal mass ejection occurred and wiped us all out. Very unlikely to be that strong.
The other way is if an asteroid crashed into the earth, but we would of seen it by now. Unless the goverment want to keep it a secret to stop panic.
The final way is Sarah Palin becoming president. She would be told theirs a couple thousand nukes sitting around deep under the ocean in submarines, left overs from the cold war. And she would probably think bombing it would clean it up.

We have zillions of scientists that could most likely predict if the world would end before it would happen.
