I just watched Civil War, and although I liked it (I think Winter Soldier was better though, more focused if that makes sense to you) for the entire duration of the movie I couldn't stop thinking that the entire movie was based on a contrived overreaction.
They should have let Wanda really fuck up, not "instead of killing a fuckton of people on the ground you kill 11 people in the skyscraper you are literally hitler".
I can accept Zemo getting a hateboner for the Avengers because he's insane, but the fact that everyone acts like it's their fault while ignoring the a) FUCKING ALIEN INVASION b) The genocidal robot maniac is just dumb. Having her kill a bus full of children like in the actual Civil War would have been too much for disney maybe, but they could have handled that better still.

Don't worry, we can go back to hating him when the Nemesis movie is released.

Are you forgetting that the Avengers themselves were directly responsible for the creation of the genocidal robot maniac? Everything that happened in Sokovia is their fault.
Of course it was actually only Tony and Banner who did it, but an outside observer isn't going to be able to make that distinction.

I honestly think he should return to licking goats because Captain America: Civil War was a much better story than his Civil War.

You're right.
The rest of my point still stands tho.

I don't understand why they made a second one. Didn't the first one do really poorly?

Apparently it made over a billion dollars in the box office.

I'm enjoying Jupiters Legacy (well Jupiters Circle at least) but man it pushes those Millar edge buttons at times.
Oh my god, the blue and yellow costumes

I feel like she should have shielded herself and Cap, instead of flinging Crossbones off, so that the whole marketplace gets blown up but they survive. At least then it would be negligence and not just a total accident.
Remember how a page or so back I went on about how we need more marvel games because as it stands the only current legit (not freemium rpg/mobile/social/Lego) marvel game is Disney Infinity?
Well Disney infinity just got discontinued. So like, yeah.
We REALLY need new marvel games.
I still nominate MUA3.

Or rereleases and touch ups like Star Wars has been getting

Fuck that would be nice or even that First Person one that was being developed a while back that would be great too.

Raven isn't around anymore so unless you're gonna pay to get the band back together, pretty sure your nostalgia wouldn't be strong enough to carry the title.
Writers who get superheroes and writers who WANT to get superheroes are actually few and far between, especially in the gaming industry.
MUA isn't praised for its writing nor it's gameplay, from what I can tell. I wouldn't even say nostalgia applies really. I in fact have angry memories with how mua2 was handled, especially the abysmal DLC planning.
The reason MUA comes to mind however is the core idea that sold the game in the first place- a simple game, likely a 3D beat em up or dungeon crawler or something of the sort, with all your favorite heroes and villains playable. Not Legos, but realistic graphics and hopefully they don't skip out on punisher and such just because he's not marketable to kids.
Right now the closest you can get to my vision is Disney Infinity, but it's imperfect and just got discontinued. There's also the Diablo clone, and the mobile beat em up's but I'd rather it be a PC/Console title.
How fast would an MCU Shadow of Mordor clone with various playable marvel characters hype and sell? That's my dream game. Bonus points if goons have the nemesis system. God, even just one hero would probably make that be a contender for GOTY. I'd jizz if it was punisher. Given how his bad guys end up it'd make sense. Especially since he's not above leaving certain thugs alive to get informants, Intel and traitors. Of course a "prison break out" event with a less deadly hero would be cool too.
I'm rambling but, I was thinking more like Disney infinity without the kid stuff and figurines. MUA was just the first title that came to mind for huge playable roster idea. Arkham Knight Avengers edition would make one hell of a game though.
Something amazing about MUA was how modable the characters were. You could play as ANY character from Marvel.

Looks like Agent Carter just got cancelled. Also the upcoming AoS spinoff has been too.
Cant say I'm shocked, the second season started off great and then got super preachy until asswhooping started happening like the third til the last episode, whereas Junior Varsity Avengers figured out that showing not telling the soshul justussessses is a lot more effective at getting your point across than holier than thou monologues.
Kind of ironic they had this huge song and dance about how progressive they were and how it was the new and best thing for ratings ever, meanwhile their highest rated show is about a chick who can't keep it her pants in regards to married men, and their second highest rated show is this other chick who's shot two people for fucking with her program of shady lawyering.
:|
i really wanted to like agent carter but its never been that great
it was neither campy enough to get the charm of 50s serials, nor intricate enough to nail down the suspense of the noir genre. a stylized setting can make sub-par writing work, but they never committed to anything
[editline]13th May 2016[/editline]
not to imply that an ultra stylized setting is the ONLY way to go, but that's just what stuck out to me. the whole show was a resounding "ish": noir-ish, sci-fi-ish, suspenseful-ish. always too afraid to fill a niche and stop appealing to a wider audience
netflix should just take all those shows.

Wonder if that means for the spinoff characters [sp] That they'll get written back into S4 or something. Would suck to lose them because of that decision [/sp]
i was enjoying Agent Carter more then SHIELD.
Could it have been when the series was aired that caused the low ratings? It was weird time spot. (I don't mean hour of the day, I mean the months)
My personal problem with Agent Carter was that it had these overlong 'humour' scenes that were never funny.
It didn't seem like they had come from a natural writing development. Just "lets make Jarvis do something funny" "but that's not funny" "It's clear we're trying though".
Sometimes I forget how ridiculous things are behind the scenes.
I'd like to see the unedited version.

16 seconds in.
It must be weird for real actors when they interact to CGI characters and entire green screen sequences. I can't help but think about Ian McKellen on the Hobbit. He had to do most of his scenes all alone on green screens pretending that the rest of the cast is there

didn't he actually yell on the set about that
