I cringed a little when Apocalypse started customizing his goons
I really wish it had just been a "young X-men" movie with the kids in the school just doing every day shit and having drama with their powers. I don't need this over the top end of the world bullshit with the ugliest prosthetic Oscar Isaac screaming at everyone in the movie. It was pretty terrible.
They did that, it's called x-men evolution.
That cartoon did Apocalypse way better than the movie tbh
All of this would be okay if it was pulpy and ready to have fun with itself, (bad CGI and dialogue would be charming), but I remember only one time the show did that [sp]Kyle Mclachlan's character[/sp]
But AOS does have fun with itself. Remember what Coulson did with [sp]a hologram of himself[/sp] once he was done talking down [sp]Hive[/sp] in season 3? [editline]13th June 2016[/editline]
http://collider.com/hayley-atwell-captain-america-hook-up/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=collidersocial Hayley Atwell says the kiss in Civil War is disrespectful to her character. lol
I interpretated Steve and Peggy's romance like in a marriage where one partner died young and the other remarried. Except that since they both eventually survived, they both fell in love again. Peggy with Detective Sousa after the war, Steve with Sharon after he woke up in a future with a senile old Peggy. Plus, Steve and Peggy were never married or had children, so incest isn't even a possibility. I'd compare it to what happened with Theodore Roosevelt. He was in love with a young woman. She died and he fell in love with Ethel iforgetherlastname. Except Alice Roosevelt really did die and didn't awaken 70 years later and fall in love again.
Also the Hive CGI was great in the finale, he looked awesome.
Yeah, I can see why they saved that for the finale. It looked really cool, and it obviously looked movie-quality so I doubt they could do it much on their budget.
Mystique always bothers me. Does she have any defined powers or is it just whatever the writing team felt like she should have at that moment? The way she morphs and fights defies any sense of inner logic.
I've been watching Agents of Shield a lot lately (two thirds through the second season now) and I know a lot of you guys hate it, but I can't seem to find out why. It's not on par with the Netflix shows but it's still good none the less, at least to me. Someone explain what the big gripes about it are? Maybe I'm just not seeing them or they don't bother me
blatant IMMATEACH PROGRESSIVE SUPERIOR MORAL VALUES NAOW SPEECH SJWitis complete and utter inability to show and not tell, cannot count the number of times 20 minutes of dialog could have been accomplished with 2 minutes doing the thing they're fucking yapping about good actors in bad roles dialog is all over the fucking place Whedon plotitis, literally 5 months of buildup to dispatch a villain in 10 minutes, more than once schizophrenic character development, no one has a solid arc on the show except Mac, and then they throw that out too last season Starbuckitis, a character Pro-X is anti-X the next episode with no reason given other than oooh this dialog needs to be all dramatical and shit, bitches love the dramatic dialog it's not felicity chronicles but it certainly approaches MTV drama level of cheese.
blatant IMMATEACH PROGRESSIVE SUPERIOR MORAL VALUES NAOW SPEECH SJWitis
havent noticed that at all, example?
Did you not watch the second season or last three episodes of the first season? Plenty preachy, and stuff that could just as easily been done through action and not exposition.
Did you not watch the second season or last three episodes of the first season? I'll assume there was some at the end of S1 for obvious story reasons, but beyond that, I don't know what you mean at all Maybe my memory is clouded from S3 and late S2, but I found the decisions they made recently to be generally well written. Any 'SJW SUPERIOR MORAL VALUE' decisions were generally met with consequence, and not all the characters shared the same perspective. What worked worked, and what didn't didn't, regardless of the 'moral value' behind it. [editline]e[/editline] cool
SJWitis Whedon plotitis, Starbuckitis, a character Pro-X is anti-X .
what language is this
good actors in bad roles
i love clark gregg but he's no leading man
I'm actually quite pleased with Spiderman in Civil War. He's really funny, and they didn't try to dwell on backstory at all, they just threw him in there. Biggest issue with Civil War was its constant tonal shifts from "gritty" to "funny and lighthearted action" to "holy shit i need a flashlight its so dark"
i love clark gregg but he's no leading man
Coulson is not a leading character
Doesn't look like it's been posted yet but: Donald Glover has joined Spider-man: Homecoming http://variety.com/2016/film/news/spider-man-homecoming-donald-glover-1201795278/
Looks like the 'Dead No More' comic event is about [sp]the fact that Uncle Ben faked his death or is brought back from the dead[/sp]. Source. Looks like nothing is sacred anymore.

Looks like nothing is sacred anymore.
I really don't understand why comic book writers think bringing people back from the dead is an interesting twist. Every time you do it, you devalue future deaths. It's like when they kill someone off in a TV series, but then have them make a bunch of appearances as 'hallucinations' or 'visions' or flashback episodes in the following season. Commit to your narrative decisions, it's much more interesting that way. It hasn't been so bad in the MCU yet, but I think that's because they only ever kill villains.
And slavs. [editline]15th June 2016[/editline] The villain is the Jackal so nah, its just Clone Saga 2.
Why would they do a second Clone Saga? Isn't the first one universally hated?
Why would they do a second Clone Saga? Isn't the first one universally hated?
Because of this
Because of this
What Tom's saying isnt even remotely true btw, DC Rebirth blew them the fuck out of the water because they're trying to actually appeal to their consumer base and fix what they broke.
Anyone in the creative business knows Tom is totally talking short term. Eventually this shit will lead to very bad things for the industry before it levels out.

Marvel is still trying to sell their comics on the outrage they create. Just look at Captain America. And it's killing the comic book industry.
DC comics have been dead since before New 52. Rebirth is just kicking dead horses.
I'd rather an attempt at good comics rather than blatantly shitting on the characters to get cheap anger sales, thank you.
