Speaking of Spider-Man.
In hindsight, theres a little detail about the Raimi suit i really appreciate.
Depending on the lighting of the scene, the suits blue portions look either blue:

Or black:

Just like how the suit was originally black and red, then later turned blue and red due to miscommunication with the suits highlights.

I still prefer Raimi suit to ASM and MCU suits
[QUOTE=VenomousBeetle;50675453]I still prefer Raimi suit to ASM and MCU suits[/QUOTE]
Im in fucking love with the MCU suit, but i do appreciate that the Raimi suit had the guts to modify the costume to further integrate the white eyes with the color scheme of the suit (making the webs/spider silver)
Especially ASM1. ASM 2 has a little more faith
[img]http://cdn2-www.comingsoon.net/assets/uploads/gallery/spider-man-homecoming/spidermanselfie.jpg[/img]
How can you not love this design.
Im still wondering how he can see out of the mask, the lenses frames are so thick and so far apart.
I just prefer the comic look, without the web wings ofc.
ASM2 and Raimi are closest I think
Naturally I really despise ASM1's and the new insomniac game suit. I hope a classic suit option is available at the beginning of the game.
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
Infact looking at ASM2 it's perfect. I wouldn't have minded if they reused it
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
I'm pretty conservative about my comic suits is all I guess. Iron man I make an exception for, he needed the update most
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
Plus raimi's spider-man was my first superhero movie. I saw it in 2001 in theatres at 6 years old. I probably owe my love of comics and heroes to it.

The MCU one is almost 1:1 the Romita design but with some lines on it, its probably more accurate than both of those.

Im fine with both, Spider-Man has dozens upon dozens of costumes. Besides, the Insomniac one is a good omen because its designed so you dont lose Spider-Man in hectic action, meaning the games going to get fucking crazy.
[QUOTE=VenomousBeetle;50675481]Infact looking at ASM2 it's perfect. I wouldn't have minded if they reused it[/quote]
I really, really dont like the ASM2 suit, i think it looks kind of like trash, tbh.
I love the ASM2 suit, it was bright and colourful and pretty damn faithful. While I appreciate the MCU Spidey outfit for its Romita Snr design and influence, ASM2 was just the ideal suit.

Eh.
It does a lot of things wrong, in my opinion.
For example,
[t]http://cdn04.cdn.justjared.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/garfield-minime/andrew-garfield-films-amazing-spider-man-2-with-mini-me-15.JPG[/t]
- The suit looks poorly made in some shots. Coloring and sheen between the main bodies red portions and the mask dont look in congruence with one another, and in my opinion a lot of the red portions look like christmas gift box padding.
- Too many weblines on the torso which makes the design look very busy.
- Weblines and spider, instead of being pure black or a silver-chrome like Raimi, are an ugly inbetween muddy grey that both sticks out and blends in with the red sections because it doesnt quite pop as much as it should.
- The hexagonal patterns on the blue tights are fucked up along the seems and dont line up and are completely missing from the dick.
- Its still using that god awful TASM Spider-logo that looks like the spider is trying to flag down a Taxi on 1920's broadway.
- Belt section is too straight and circular, too tall.
- Webshooters stick out of the costume but arent integrated well into the design/
- The separations between the blue and red have this weird polgyonal effect going on that doesnt look as good doing it as a straight line or curve, like Raimi or MCU.
Its like they tried to do what made the Raimi suit good, but make it different, keep certain elements of the TASM 1 suit, and also make it more comic accurate at the same time, and for me it just doesnt come together well. It looks really messy. Modifying it to be a great suit would require fundamentally changing the design, while with say the Raimi suit or the MCU suit you'd only need to modify it slightly (Raimi = turn the webs black, back spider circular, MCU = remove the MCU lines, if you want comic accuracy).
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
Its why i love the MCU suit.
When i look at the TASM2 costume, i think "thats an alright spider-man costume".
When i look at the MCU one, i think "thats spider-man."
the mcu suit is practically the 60s animated series brought to life.
what's not to love about that?
The idea of the ASM2 suit, like how it looks on renders

These. They kind of ruin looking like the classic suit. Also saw a set photo where it looked like he had random lines on blue parts. Probably would be perfect bar those
[img]http://i.imgur.com/V3xn44N.png[/img]
I also feel like it might be the wrong shade of red
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
I'm sort of expecting slight changes when homecoming comes out though.
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
I'd really enjoy a 1:1 of that 1966 you posted but I'm not seeing it
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
Seemed like the only thing Raimi really changed big time was making the suit's net web silver instead of black

Eh, they'll get rid of them eventually. Like i said, you remove those, its :ok: perfect. The TASM2 suit needs a total overhaul to make it perfect.

The homecoming suit is 1:1 to the comics color scheme, its beautiful.

And the back spider, and the shape of the eyes. Also the colors were muted to an insane degree.
The eye shape is pretty negligible imo, likely not intended to look that different
But I agree the removal of those random stripes would make it fantastic
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
Imagining him without those black bars reminds me of that old hulk/Spidey/iron man cg short for some reason
In fact, im going to give the black stripes a pass, because they're being used to integrate the external webshooters into the design.
[t]http://cdn2-www.comingsoon.net/assets/uploads/gallery/spider-man-homecoming/spidermanselfie.jpg[/t]
[t]http://img1.looper.com/img/gallery/exclusive-spider-man-homecoming-set-photos/d415e9aad334b56eb48054a37975e4f5.jpg[/t]
But i assume they'll find a way to make it the traditional one at some point in the future. Its probably related directly to the webshooters since they need to be small enough to fit under the gloves, and right now the props are too big to do it properly while also looking large enough to fit web cartridges in.
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
Whoah thats really cool.
If you look at the cartridges on his belt and the area just under the nozzle on the top pic you can see where the cartridges load into.
External web shooters remind me of those awkward silly string toys
I prefer that he magically fits them under his glove and they magically seep perfectly through a small hole in the wrist tbh. It's not realistic but I find it more aesthetically pleasing.
I'm sure he'll ruin it and Tony will offer to make mark 2 like he does with his own suit and maybe since he actually met Peter now he'll take input on how it'll look and that's how they go back to that
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
I feel like spider-man has a history of totally destroying his suits in fights

Eh, theres been plenty of Spider-Man suits in the comics with external web shooters. Like Ben Reilly's Scarlet Spider and Spider-man suits, and by extension, Spider-Girl.
[QUOTE=VenomousBeetle;50676372]I feel like spider-man has a history of totally destroying his suits in fights[/QUOTE]
He really does. The movies dont exaggerate.
I think scarlet spiders are cool because they look like he's just wearing jogging wristbands
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
It adds to the theme of it to me
They need to fix the eyes because I can't help but think about this

Well, evidently he can see through it perfectly fine, im still wondering how, but he can.
Might be like, some really nifty goggle setup that distorts the light.

Dr. Strange?
I have no idea why but scarlet spider's costume design is my favorite out of the spider men, and I would go crazy if I saw it in any of the movies.
[QUOTE=Dan2593;50675151]They tell them enough I imagine.
I remember a Lizard arc dropping at the same time as Amazing Spider-man. That sort of shit takes time to set up, they know broad details. Often comic book characters end up resembling their movie counterparts more when films fly into production, like Guardians.[/QUOTE]
To be fair, that Lizard arc was like three issues and changed nothing in the status quo aside from "Lizard is now in the Raft and has Connors' mind in control like Professor Hulk".
And then the Lizard broke out with the rest of them a few issues later V:v:V
what i wanna know is where's the sandman
Scratchy and everywhere.
course and rough

Looking at Insomniac's spider-man game again it looks like an offshoot of the MCU suit with a white spider emblem
I hope the movie doesn't adopt that emblem change, and I sincerely hope there's a costume for the OG spidey costume that you can use at the start of the game
as long as I can dress up as scarlet spider I'll be fine
That'd be the greatest thing ever if they let us dress as an HD Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider
would be totally worth the ps4
but I still want the original suit and Im hoping its not an unlock or something so I can use it at the start cuz I really don't dig the game's new costume
[editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
Infact give me all of the costumes from Spider-man N64/PS1 please
I've said this before and I'll probably say this until the end of time, but I hope this game does an Arkham styled suit customization type of thing.
