Theres no point in naming him after the comic character if he has literally no connection to the comic character.
Flash Thompson, in high school/college, is a pompous meathead jock dickhead football quarterback who physically fucks with Peter Parker before eventually mellowing out.
This dude is shorter than Rey Mysterio, skinnier than Gal Gadot, and looks so unbelievably nonthreatening the wind might accidentally blow him away.
He looks nothing like Flash, cant physically act anything like Flash, and as such cannot have the same character that Flash had.
