I'm gonna say next year or maybe around Black Friday. I seem to remember it took Netflix forever to release the first season for House of Cards.

CAPTAIN MARVEL Writer Says Origin Story Will Be Changed Due To GREEN LANTERN Similarities
"I don’t think I’ve ever had a project where I’ve been more mindful about the impact that it could have and the importance of it. She’s such an incredibly kick-ass character and Kelly Sue DeConnick did a great run with her story arc recently. But here’s the thing, if you were just going to do a straight adaptation of the comics, her origin story is very similar to Green Lantern. And obviously, that’s not what we want to do. There’s a lot of reinvention that needs to happen. And also, she’s her own person and she’s a great character. We have to be aware of what’s happened in other Marvel film and makes sure that her particular storyline is unique and fun and also fits in within this world that’s going on at the same time. It’s a little bit of an interesting story gauntlet. It’s been good to have a partner. It’s been an incredible experience. If we can pull it off it could be an incredibly important but also really fun and kick-ass superhero film.”
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/captain_marvel/captain-marvel-writer-says-origin-story-will-be-changed-due-to-a144447 Please don't screw Mar-Vell or base the film on KSDs run, god please don't.
That's probably one of the stupidest justifications for breaking accuracy I've seen in awhile
Really, they should just use the EMH origin. Not sure how close it is to the source material, but it does a good job of condensing all the Mar-Vell stuff down and making Carol the focus.
That's probably one of the stupidest justifications for breaking accuracy I've seen in awhile
Actually the last two sentences have been used at least six other times in association with female conversions/reboots, so it's not even a non-cookie cutter statement. Hopefully it's just that, marketing and has nothing to do with actual work-up they have planned. Also Disney's M+L probably get a thesaurus when talking about female characters cause "important" "kick-ass" and "fun" have been used in every iteration of 'the movie is not 1:1 to the comic re:female'. Given their track record so far as long as the Whedon family or Feige aren't involved, they should be fine.
Last two sentences? About kickass superhero film? I'm talking about "yeah the real origin reminded us of green lantern so we changed it" Like, what?
Given how Green Lantern tanked, they probably don't want any associations to be made with that travesty
It's gonna somewhat difficult to avoid that, considering she's essentially space captain america. All the captains marvel have been hardasses, if not outright authoritarians.

Pretty sure authoritarian covers that, as well as Mar-Vell.
Who even cares if it's similar to Green Lantern, it's not like a superhero being the result of experiments, artifacts or mutant insects giving power to people, rich people creating gadgets to fight evil are any original origin stories

I wonder what this means for the future for the Netflix shows.
They'll coexist with Hulu. The more Marvel can branch out, the better.
The spider on his chest is too small
Gossip Girl
Pls no I used to read runaways I think I hope it's nothing like that show [editline]18th August 2016[/editline]
I wonder what this means for the future for the Netflix shows.
Hopefully nothing
Love Runaways. LOVE it. Nico Minoru is one of my favourites.
so Zendaya might be Mary Jane Watson for some stupid reason
i thought she was supposed to be betty brant?
Hey guys meet the new "Mary Jane" [t]http://www.fashionfave.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Zendaya-Sexiest-Instagram-Pictures_1452607297.jpg[/t][t]http://media3.popsugar-assets.com/files/2015/06/30/998/n/1922398/31f82d0d_edit_img_image_845315_1435694195_10665462_1556946924535078_763998492_n.xxxlarge.jpg[/t] Goes well with the new Flash Thompson [t]http://redcarpetrefs.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Screen-Shot-2016-04-17-at-11.26.39-PM.png[/t][t]https://static01.nyt.com/images/2014/02/25/movies/video-the-grand-budapest-hotel-tony-revolori-on-his-character/video-the-grand-budapest-hotel-tony-revolori-on-his-character-videoSixteenByNine1050.jpg[/t] [editline]18th August 2016[/editline]
i thought she was supposed to be betty brant?
It was just supposedly confirmed her role is infact Mary Jane
i can see why you'd get pissed at flash because that guy looks like a total dork, but mary jane watson is literally just a pretty face, who cares
Mary Jane has always been a red head the possible casting makes no sense at all
It seems like they're trying to have a diverse cast of queens students, more than sticking to source material. While I rather have actors that resemble the comic book characters, I'm willing to give Marvel the benefit of the doubt because I want this spider-man to do really well and be one of their top movies.
Mary Jane has always been a red head the possible casting makes no sense at all
except it does because mary jane being a redhead is not relevant to the character
except it does because mary jane being a redhead is not relevant to the character
Uh yes it is
i can see why you'd get pissed at flash because that guy looks like a total dork, but mary jane watson is literally just a pretty face, who cares
jesus christ you legitimately just reduced Peter's wife, his children's mother, an actress, as well as one of the most important supporting characters to Parker's sublife to a fucking object One of the few original strong female supporting characters to "just a pretty face" "Face it, Tiger, you just hit the jackpot!" is also one of the most famous quotes in Spider-man history also she's Iron Spider right now MJ is pretty important to Spider-man specific stories and to say "who cares" about her shows a lack of caring about Spider-man at all. How do you even be all "yeah ok I'll give you the high school bully, but his gf of 20 years thats involved in everything peter does??? not important". Have you even picked up Spider-man?
It seems like they're trying to have a diverse cast of queens students, more than sticking to source material.
except it does because mary jane being a redhead is not relevant to the character
According to you the character isn't important at all so opinion discarded
except it does because mary jane being a redhead is not relevant to the character
If it were a book, perhaps. But these are comics. You see the character as much as you read about them.
