Well it looks like this pretty much confirms that EPCOT is getting the GoTG coaster or something similar that is kicking Ellen out:
The plot is thickening for the rumored Epcot “Guardians of the Galaxy” attraction. Long time Disney roller coaster manufacturer Vekoma is now building a test track that may be the earliest version of a new coaster ride system that would replace the Universe of Energy.
Also, there is a rumor going around that Marvel and Universal are renegotiating their contract:
I may cry legitimate tears the day Ellen's Energy Adventure is replaced, that ride is one of my fondest childhood memories. I totally get why they're replacing it, but man that shit is a time capsule to like some of the earliest memories I have. Gotta be sure to ride it when I go to WDW in November.
I have one hope for Homecoming: That it will be the first movie where Peter is allowed to keep his goddamn mask on for more than five minutes. Because every other Spiderman movie has him either get the mask torn off or randomly take it off as soon as possible because gotta get that actor facetime.

Which is why his mask has expressive eyes now.

Doesn't need to be as exaggerated or anything, but just look at something like this and how just how the suit actor carries themselves conveys the personality so effectively. They can't use an inexpressive suit as the excuse now because of the eyes, and the fact that Ryan Reynolds fucking nailed expression as Deadpool.
They can't use an inexpressive suit as the excuse now because of the eyes, and the fact that Ryan Reynolds fucking nailed expression as Deadpool.
you know the face was animated right that wasn't Ryan Reynold's doing
you know the face was animated right that wasn't Ryan Reynold's doing
Maybe he means body language. Reynolds was emoting pretty heavily through body movements as well as CG eyes.
you know the face was animated right that wasn't Ryan Reynold's doing
IIRC They did the scenes twice, once with a mask, once without to get it right when they animated it.
It just dawned on me this morning that Iron Man came out in 2008. In two years' time the MCU will be over a decade old. What the fuck.

Allows for facial expressions to be shown to the audience.

I wonder if they got a bigger budget this season.
All I can think of is how awesome this would be if it was a Netflix series instead...
the car looks alright, the skull looks like shit
Just give me more shows like Daredevil. I just finished the first season and holy shit they nail the characters, villains and atmosphere. I want the TV writers write the villains in the main movies because this is where Marvel really lacks.
tbf daredevil did have like 14 episodes to flesh them out
the car looks alright, the skull looks like shit
I think they both kinda suck. Like, as crappy as the movies were, the effects were spot-on.

But why. His helmet skull would work so much better with the budget and be truer to the comics.
The skull looks way too much like Johnny Blaze, idk why they didn't make it look like the real deal [editline]12th September 2016[/editline] It's almost like they literally just went with normal ghost rider head instead of the extremely distinct one Robbie actually has [editline]12th September 2016[/editline] I didn't realize Robbie's comic head was meant to look like a helmet till Aaron just said it but I did notice that the way the flames come out of it it has an air of a hot rod/engine look too which fits with him being Muscle Cars instead of Motorcycles. I don't think they even put the hole in his forehead. It looks like something is there but I think it's a coincidence with the flame effect.
I am glad they went with the skull rather than the helmet, mainly because it is more recognizable as ghost rider, Robbie or not. If they change his origin to be a spirit of vengeance like Blaze then it will make more sense.
Every Frame a Painting released a pretty good video on why Marvel music isn't quite as memorable as other big blockbusters: I don't completely agree that all of their music is just in one ear and out the other, but I'll admit that I only really remember the major themes from most of the MCU.
yeah, well the guy is trying to compare a group of composers (the biggest names being alan silvestri, patrick doyle, brian tyler and ramin djawadi. i was gonna throw in danny elfman since he did work on aou, but that was only half a score) to fucking john williams. it's an unfair comparison.
Each of those franchises also share one theme amongst all their movies. Harry Potter, James Bond, and Star Wars have had 7+ movies now using the same theme over a decade. And James Bond even more. Hearing the theme from Thor in an Iron Man movie would make no sense. If instead of all the different Marvel flicks, we've had 7 Iron Man movies in the last eight years, there would be an Iron Man theme people would recognize. But on top of having different composers taking over films instead of having the same one, as well as each movie needing to sound different, yeah, having a recognizable theme is going to be pretty hard. The Avengers theme though, c'mon people (in the video) that was solid. [editline]12th September 2016[/editline] I blame Brian Tyler or whatever for not using the Avengers theme in his composition. And I blame whoever decided to ditch Alan Silvestri, like, cOME ON
I think the problem is none of it is really consistent. I remember the Captain America march from First Avenger, Driving With the Top Down from Iron Man 1, the Avengers main theme, and the closing credits theme from Iron Man 3 (all of this not counting all the AC/DC in IM2 and Left Hand Free from Civil War). I'm 90% sure they didn't reuse the Cap theme in Winter Soldier or Civil War and I think the same goes for the original Iron Man theme. Star Wars always starts with the Star Wars theme, Harry Potter has Hedwig's theme somewhere in there, Raimi Spider-Man had that kickass Elfman theme with the bongos and strings, of course there's the classic Bond theme, etc. If they just kept using what they had, the scores would BECOME iconic, but they keep swapping their composers around for whatever reason.
but at the same time, the tone of the cap, thor and iron man sequels were so different from each other that they kind of needed new themes. i would have loved to hear the captain america march again, and i'm sure if silvestri (who is coming back for infinity war) had been used again, he would have reused it. it's just that with winter soldier and civil war, it really wouldn't have fit.
tbf daredevil did have like 14 episodes to flesh them out
130~ minutes are enough time to flesh out villains for movies. Stane, Wintersoldier, Loki, Zemo show that they are capable of creating good villains. It's just that they mostly don't give a shit about their villains. We have Ronan, Whiplash, Malekith, Ultron, the Ice Giants in Thor 1, Red Skull, the baldy from Ant-Man, Abomination. They lack motivation, understanding them from a viewer's point of view. They are just weak and forgettable. And they play it way too safe with their formula. edit: I completely agree with the video about Marvel's music. As someone who regularly listens to movie soundtracks I also think that the music, despite being good mostly is just not memorable.
The only movie I remember that used the same theme was Thor 1 and 2.
I think the one track I remember most over the MCU is the Winter Soldier. It stood out to me because it invoked that sense of mystery and intimidation that you should feel from the Winter Soldier upon first meeting him. I also think that's a reason I liked the film more so than past Marvel films is because its music stood out. Others like the Avengers theme I'd recognize if I heard them, even if I can't imitate them. As for the Ghost Rider promo, it does have me excited. It could be interesting. I'm wondering if this means if they're planning on having him (as well as the Netflix series' characters) eventually joining the rest of the Avengers.
