Winter Soldier and Djawadi's DUN DUN DUN theme from Iron Man are pretty iconic, but I think honestly Silvestri's the only one who's created themes that can stand without exposition.
"Music as mood indicator" is basically saying the audience is too stupid to figure what's going on, and it's one of the things I really really dislike about the MCU, and I think the best example of Marvelization is Tyler: contrast his stuff from Fast and Furious or his Jet Li stuff to now; his marvel work is literally "stock music for superheroes vol XIX"
You go just a ways back and his stuff has a way better energy and tempo:

He went from being his own artist to "can't get ______, then get Tyler".
You're talking about brian tyler? The guy who did the scores for thor 2, iron man 3 and aou? Those scores were good and had actual themes to them.
Daredevil theme is the only one that completely stuck for me, from the first time I heard it

The scores were serviceable and lack individual character, especially compared to his earlier work.
i thought you were talking about tyler bates
Bates has openly admitted to temp muling when asked to, I would hazard he's even further down the list in terms of playing strictly to script.
he also borrows other people's music entirely.

Daredevil's music is probably the best yeah but tbf it's not a movie, you'll see and hear the music more than you ever could in any movie.
The fight theme that plays when he starts getting serious and picking up makes me wanna reinstall Arkham games everytime I see it
I thought the last track from Civil War (excluding the credits score) was one of my favorite themes in a Marvel movie since Ant-Man.
I'm talking about the part from 2:00 onwards.

I'm looking forward to the Spider-man soundtrack, wonder if we'll get a remixed version of the original tune or something
I'll consider it a strike against the movie if it doesn't have some variation of the original tune in the movie somewhere.

until recently i couldn't figure out why i couldn't hum the gotg theme without breaking into the avengers one

I think Spider-Man had a specific theme in Civil War. It played whenever he did something cool

Go right at the end

I hope they get J.K. Simmons to play J. Jonah Jameson again

And then have a small reference to how everybody else is switched out.
Didn't JK Simmons play him in one of the cartoons as well.
i know how late i am on this but wow @ that cgi with tony in the suit in civil war
I just watched Civil War. It was pretty good, but I'm left with some questions:
[sp]How did Captain America know it was Hydra that killed Tony Stark's parents?[/sp]
and [sp]How did that Antagonist guy know about that as well?[/sp]

Cap figured it out in The Winter Soldier when[sp]Arnim Zola showed Cap and Widow that Stark's parents death was covered up by Hydra as an "accident".[/sp]
[sp]I believe Zemo said somewhere in the movie that SHIELD's files we're leaked at the end of the Winter Soldier, so that's how he figured it out. I could be wrong though.[/sp]

Zemo also went to Cleveland and got some Hydra files.
[sp]Yeah thats what zemo spent the entire movie trying to get[/sp]
Well this is interesting:
It won’t take the powers of the Sorcerer Supreme to conjure a look at the magical, mind-bending adventure “Doctor Strange,” for beginning October 7, guests visiting Disney Parks will be able to catch a preview of scenes from the film in sneak peeks planned for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
At Disney California Adventure park, the preview of “Doctor Strange” will be presented in 3D with special in-theater effects at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land, while guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will get to see this advance look at clips from the film as part of the One Man’s Dream attraction.
If I recall correctly, Doctor Strange is one of the characters Universal has the rights to, so this would be a direct violation of the currently known Marvel Universal contract. I wonder what is going on behind the scenes.
I hope they get J.K. Simmons to play J. Jonah Jameson again
Seems unlikely since he's gonna be Commissioner Gordon in the DCCU
If they can't get him back they should get Terry Crews he'd be fucking perfect
dude I could fucking see terry crews being jameson honestly
i know how late i am on this but wow @ that cgi with tony in the suit in civil war
Give it to me.
Also, while you're at it, give me Michael Jai White as Tombstone.
I would like to see Nick Offerman as Jameson.
