I sure do enjoy my daily reminder that people don't like AoU. It doesn't get old at all.
The things I didn't like aren't the things most people don't like about it though. I didn't really have much of a problem with the Banner/Widow thing because I read it differently, but the problem I had with it was that it was just so silly. Even Ant-Man felt serious when it needed to be.
I still think Age of Ultron was phenomenal. It was just a case of 'can never live to the hype'. Marvel were hyping it up as the next big step in the overall plot when really it was more of a, and pardon my jargon here, limited series crossover than a part of the ongoing.

I walked out of the cinema thinking wow and then the feeling gradually faded until I realised there was almost no lasting impression.
IMO it was pretty good, but it looks weaker compared to Marvel's other recent projects (Daredevil, GotG, etc).
Neither of the Avengers movies were that great, honestly.
The first Avengers movie works best in a cinema with a crowd.
The first Avengers had the advantage of being THE crossover, and the first one at that. It had years of hype building up to it. With that factor gone Age of Ultron has significantly less flash going on.
I sure do enjoy my daily reminder that people don't like AoU. It doesn't get old at all.
We have to wait until 2016 for the next Marvel movie to come out, what else is there possibly to talk about to keep the thread going?
I liked AoU but goddamn you get super tired of Joss Whedon really quickly, you can just FEEL him touching plots and stuff.

Agents of SHIELD. The trailer for Civil War that's going to be released really soon. Oh and Doctor Strange is entering production soon as well.
Jessica Jones. Agents of SHIELD. The trailer for Civil War that's going to be released really soon.
But they're not out now Do you really want this thread to just be empty up until the next trailer or show comes on?
How, when there is something new to discuss every week.
Actual news rarely gets much talk in here unless it's a cast list for a new movie. Unless it's something visual - a movie, trailer or show - then no one really talks about it. It's for the cinematic universe, not the news about marvel universe.
the first avengers was neatly made, pretty simple and charming for a big production. it's no classic but still deserves credit where it's due. it could've easily been an 'iron man and friends' kind of film but instead we got some great chemistry between characters, even though half of those characters had movies that were successful but not exactly smash hits [editline]20th September 2015[/editline] and hell, i'd take age of ultron over that snyder nonsense any day of the week
It pretty much was Iron Man and friends, Whedon didn't step out of his own playbook at any point in the movie, and as awesome as Loki is, there was no point in the movie where he was a credible threat, and Thor 2 kinda drove that home very hard. The only reason there's danger-close even present is because the heroes have their heads up their butts for most of the movie, and Whedon pulling that card twice is one of the reasons AoU is so awful. It's just a spectacle movie, and way WAY behind stuff like Winter Soldier and Ant-Man.
theme
Silvestri is amazing, but I'm not sure this one will stand the test of time.

Forget the plot, I could watch two hours of them just hanging out in Stark's tower.
The first Avengers movie works best in a cinema with a crowd.
how many people missed loki squealing right after he got bashed by Hulk in the cinemas just because the crowd was literally dying out of laugther/cheering/screaming. i didn't notice it until someone pointed out, many months later
You might just be the only one

I just hope that Thanos is a real villain, there's been a real shortage of credible villains in the MCU and Thanos has been built up too long and the average movie-goer has no idea what he actually does because we've just seen him sit and brood on a floating space chair. IIRC he's also a pretty potent magician, I hope the introduction of Dr Strange into the MCU means we get some more magic and Thanos is involved.

Alexander Pierce was a decent villain.
is dr strange phase 3 or 4? i forget
3 [editline]22nd September 2015[/editline] Antman was the last Phase 2
is dr strange phase 3 or 4? i forget
3. Infinity Wars completes phase 3 iirc.
Infinity Wars completes phase 3 iirc.
Nope, it ends with Inhumans.
Apparently there's still a major easter egg no one has found in GotG yet. http://www.businessinsider.com/guardians-of-the-galaxy-easter-egg-no-one-has-found-yet-2015-9
just watched a video that points out that at least one of the on-screen coordinates shown whenever the movie switches to a new location is an easter egg. wonder if it's in one of those?
That[sp]new Bus[/sp] [sp]And the black ops team is probably SWORD, "alien threat" is kinda telling[/sp]
That's a pretty good season opener.
That's the Advanced Threat Containment Unit according to the summary
Wouldn't be the first time they lied to or misdirected us
