Can you imagine the Guardians in a serious and grounded Avengers film? My god that would suck the life out of the two most colourful and fun Marvel film properties. Fair enough make a grim Hulk film, make a thriller Captain America film, make an intense Daredevil series... but for the love of Stan Lee don't ground The Avengers and the Guardians. That's totally wrong. Make it wacky, colourful, loud and a lot of fun. You've got a fucking Raccoon sharing the screen with a god, Robert Downey Jr and SPIDERMAN.
You need balance. You need to have light scenes and dark scenes. You need to have the terror be more than just a passing fad, and you've gotta have the humor be more than just 'another witty one-liner'. AKA you need to do what they did with Winter Soldier.
I'm going to be more hyped if the Netflix characters also make an appearance in Infinity War. I want to see Jon "Rubbing my Head" Bernthal fighting aliens.
I disagree. Those two things should be kept separate as much as possible. The Punisher is an ordinary guy who fights mobsters, aliens would be way out of his element. I feel the same way about Batman stories. There are good Batman/JL stories, I guess, but my favorite stories are when he's alone in Gotham, being a vigilante in a costume taking on criminals. No sidekick, no superpowers, no aliens. Just a man fighting criminals.
Also Spider-man reveal may be in the next week http://www.merchoid.com/product/spiderman-premium-hoodie/
The hoodie design was leaked: https://mobile.twitter.com/SuperBroMovies/status/686364174759297024 Linked because potential spoilers. Some people are saying that the Captain America hoodie from the same brand looks nothing like the Civil War suit, though, so make of that what you will.
More characters =/= better. Didn't they learn anything from Age of Ultron?
I don't get the absolute faith in the Russos. What have they done other than CA:WS?
Some of the best episodes of Community and Arrested Development.

what i mean is there's a big gap between what he says about his characters and how he handles them
what i mean is there's a big gap between what he says about his characters and how he handles them
Ehhhh, kind of. I think he's trying to make them feminist icons but he's not doing it well. It's like he's taking too many notes from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, thinking that because she's a girl and kicks a lot of ass means she's empowered.
I don't get the absolute faith in the Russos. What have they done other than CA:WS?
well they've handled the character with the utmost care, keeping very true to who he is and what he does, unlike the rest of the avengers who start off good and seem to slip with the sequels. i mean, out of everything we've had so far, how many mcu sequels can you say topped the first? not only clearly topping the first, but setting the entire franchise to a new level of demand? that's what the russos have done, along with some community and arrested development episodes (i haven't watched either so i can't comment on their quality but i'm sure they are great).
More characters =/= better. Didn't they learn anything from Age of Ultron? Cameos are fine, but I dread having to listen to 67 witty one-liners
[sp]Thanos kills half the universe and a shit ton of heroes thereafter, that many cameos are justified, this is literally the biggest thing to EVER happen until the reboot [/sp] [editline]12th January 2016[/editline]
I don't get the absolute faith in the Russos. I wonder how Civil War will affect Jessica Jones and Daredevil
Luke Cage's skin confirmed as one of the infinity stones
Hopefully there are [sp] A lot of casualties in Infinity Wars. It can be a big way to reboot the universe. [/sp] Also every time I see news about Spiderman I keep thinking how awesome it's going to be to have symbiotes be apart of the MCU.
Kill off Peter Parker and replace him with Black Spiderman.
#DonGlover4Spiderman2k19
The only problem with killing off Peter Parker, is that EVERYONE knows Peter Parker. Only people who read the comics, or people who skim/read the news about the potential of Miles being spider man before they announced the casting actually know of Miles Morales. If they make Spiderman the new face of Marvel after RDJ potentially steps down, they may want to have the most potential for Spiderman to continue to be a big hit. I don't even know anything about Miles outside of him being spiderman, so perhaps his story could work on the big screen, or they could lead up to it, but there being only one spiderman movie before Infinity Wars, I doubt the story could take them there. Could be possible if they want the story to lead up to the change of who spiderman is, they'll eventually go that route. But I don't see it happening.
What's so damn special about Miles that he has over Peter? Is there a actual story reason for why he should take the cinematic mantle of Spiderman or is it just because he's an ethnic minority and that's it?
i'm all for miles simply because it would be neat to explore an alternate main superhero, which has yet to be done in any marvel film. jim rhodes being iron man, bucky/falcon being captain america, jane foster being thor, these are all possibilities the mcu can take. i'm not tired of peter parker, i'm tired of origin films for spider-man every time he's rebooted. that being said, this is the third major motion picture representation, why not change it up a bit? have peter parker die and let miles morales take over. from what i gather most of these marvel movies are following the ultimates storyline and that's where miles morales is spider-man. plus, donald glover would be an excellent choice. this is also why i hope if they bring back the ghost rider, that we see it transition from johnny blaze to daniel ketch (marvel, if you happen to see this post, make ghost rider into a netflix series that does this pls).
Personally I'd love to see them pull off Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider in MCU, I think his series lends itself well for cinematic adaptation.

I don't know all that much about him and changing it up for the simple sake of changing it up sounds dumb without a real reason for the story.

That sounds so similar to Parker's story that there's no point in changing it.
That sounds so similar to Parker's story that there's no point in changing it.
Except, y'know, everyone's tired as shit of seeing Peter Parker at this point, and it'd be nice to see a bit more color in the MCU.
Personally I'd love to see them pull off Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider in MCU, I think his series lends itself well for cinematic adaptation.
This reminds me, since we are getting Moon Knight sometime soon, we are only missing Ghost Rider and Blade as major characters really. At least, in Marvel Studios owned characters.
