Not sure why you guys are attacking him for having an opinion.
Also question about the movie [sp]Was that actually a helicarrier/flying ship we saw in that one trailer?[/sp]

[sp]It could be either a helicarrier or a normal carrier, it doesn't fly in the movie and I don't think we actually see any engines on it.[/sp]
The big blocky things in the corners had me mighty suspicious.
[sp]What are you still doing here? It's over. Go home.[/sp]
Loved Deadpool. My kind of humor!

[sp]Just saw the movie and paid extra attention to this. It definitely feels like it was intended to sort of look like one of the SHIELD helicarriers, but it probably differs enough so they won't get into trouble. It did have engine things sort of sticking out, but they were destroyed enough to not be -that- recognizable. [/sp]
I was surprised that [sp]Hydra Bob[/sp] was in the movie.
Was it just me, or did Deadpool's face often not follow his speech?

[sp]Deadpool knocked him out cold and used his body to spell out FRANCIS, what happened after we don't see[/sp]

It likely didnt. Reynolds says a joke, later they decide on a superior joke, ADR it in.
I dunno why some people are complaining about the humor in deadpool... It's honestly way better than any of the cringe they've been pumping out like Daddy's Home and Dirty Grandpaw like wtf.
Also can anyone see Jim Carrey playing deadpool?
Some jokes are bound to go above people's head. I was confused during that scene when the blind woman and Deadpool were arguing over brands or something
I fucking loved it.
Not EVERY joke hit, but it was so fast-paced with the banter that by the time you notice that something fell flat, they're already on the next joke.
Awesome action, surprisingly good humor, lots of fanservice ([sp]Bob, "Rob L.", pretty sure I saw Marrow in the Ajax lab, etc.[/sp]), and surprisingly strong dramatic beats when shit needed to get serious.
Like, by the end of it, you REALLY wanna see Wade beat the fuck out of Ajax.
I also loved how they played stuff like his cancer and insecurities over his appearance totally straight. That [sp]"she's coming up with every plan from A to Z, I'm memorizing her face like I'm seeing it for the first time... or the last"[/sp] line hit fucking hard.
SATURDAY UPDATE: Deadpool brought in an estimated $47.5 million on Friday and an "A" CinemaScore. That's the largest Friday ever in February, besting Fifty Shades of Grey's $30.2 million Friday last year by a whopping $17.3 million. Projections now have the film opening with $110-116 million for the three-day weekend and possibly as much as $130 million for the four-day, both of which would obviously be records. Here's another look at the records Deadpool is looking to break:
Largest February Opening Weekend: $85.1 million (Fifty Shades of Grey)
Largest 4-Day President's Day Weekend: $93 million (Fifty Shades of Grey)
Largest R-Rated Opening Weekend: $91.7 million (The Matrix Reloaded)
Largest R-Rated Comic Adaptation Opening Weekend: $70.8 million (300)
Largest Winter Season Opening Weekend: $89.2 million (American Sniper)
Largest Opening Ever for 20th Century Fox: $108.4 million (Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith)
Right now, it looks like all of those records will be falling, but for even more detail on the records click here.
well damn, I'm absolutely surprised + impressed
I was expecting, first of all, a good movie, and considering recent Deadpool comics, I was expecting something along those lines. In the most recent ones, you've got Deadpool's humor as a defense weapon against the tragic events
But he literally does that when [sp]he's in Francis' facility. He's going through tons of torture and copes with it by annoying the dude torturing him and trying to lift the spirits of the other guys who are stuck there just like him.[/sp]
I'm going back through the thread and I feel like you're seriously overselling how "bad" this movie is. I've read Daniel Way's Deadpool (ie. the "le funny meme" version that Hot Topic kids are so taken with), this movie is NOT that.
If you didn't find it funny, whatever, humor is subjective, different strokes and all that, but this was by no means a poorly made film.
The humor is a huge part of it, so if that doesn't work for you, then the movie won't work for you.
But everything else about it, including Deadpool himself, was pretty much spot-on.
[editline]13th February 2016[/editline]
Also, that [sp]"Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret"[/sp] joke absolutely destroyed me.
I know it's rated R, but Deadpool was fucking raunchy. Really liked it tho.

It's pretty obvious that this was a labor of love, and I don't think it'll beat "best opening ever" versus inflation, but I'm fairly certain 50 Shades is unilaterally toast.
I'm equally sure Reynolds is gonna get that 3 picture deal he wanted.

I'm so happy for the dude.
You can tell that this thing was a dream-come-true years in the making for him.

media or video tags will do it.
I'm serious about the video tags.
I'm sort of happy for him, cause this is literally "a man can dream" style of shenanigans coming completely fucking true on every level, but it's also going to typecast the fuck out of the rest of his potential body of work, so it's really good that he's also getting cha-ching on the back end as well as the acting dosh, cause this may be his retirement fund nestegg as well as this year's take.
For a "super-progressive dream land" Hollywood™ is pretty the much worst "judge you solely on bullshit criteria without a moment's pause" place I've ever worked with/in, AAA gaming doesn't even hold a candle to stereotypist absurdity that is the modern media mecca.
i wanted to watch deadpool last friday but all the screenings well sold by the time i got to there. bummer.
might as well watch it in a week or so.
See it during the day (mid day or morning). No one will be there
Even the previous projections may have been too low. Deadpool breaks Presidents’ Day weekend record with $150 million. Internationally, Deadpool opened with an estimated $125 million from 61 markets for a global total of $260 million through Sunday. (obviously we won't have actual totals for a few more days)
that's a lot of $$$

Fox must be going "wow Tom was a fucking idiot"
Probably also feeling pretty silly for that last-minute budget cut they did on it, which forced them to slash some scenes. Very curious to see what the sequel's budget will be now that they're not gonna be so fucking paranoid anymore.

Taskmaster was in the original script, the budget prevented him from showing up apparently.

i hope there's an opening line about the budget
thought deadpool was okay, like it was perfectly fine but not something overly amazing. more excited for what it means for higher budget r rated movies and relaxed creative control. am glad it exists

Honestly, this is the best thing about the movie.
Havent seen it yet, but the fact that it exists and is doing so well with its rating, and being a SUPERHERO movie at that, is a good omen.
[sp]R-rated wolverine movie this time for FUCKS sake.[/sp]
What's better, Deadpool [sp]having all of his guns and going on a raw-carnage mass-murder spree for the finale[/sp], or [sp]forgetting all of his guns and having to go mano-e-mano with 12 dudes[/sp]?
the latter gave us one of the best gags of the film with the Indian dude
