You can't tell me what to do!
I'm a pirate now, get off my space sail boat that has lasers for cannons and cannons for sails!
Damn, saw like 20+ new posts and figured we must have news on one of the upcoming titles. Nope, just someone claiming Deadpool is a DC property.
for anyone looking to read some deadpool stuff, cullen bunn has some good stuff. do yourself a favor and read it in release order, it helps with continuity.
Their civilian names are Slade Wilson and Wade Wilson. Both have regeneration as their power, both have similar fighting styles, both notably make use of katanas. Both wear masks that don't have mouths.
Let's not play pretend here.
What the character started as is largely irrelevant. Deadpool outgrew his origin as Deathstroke rip off ages ago.

I guess after his first mask is broken he gets a new one that looks good and not like garbage.

That also reveals Red Hulk.
The Deadpool movie team has responded to the Deadpool SNL petition:

I love how much of an 'yell at the wall' this petition has been. It's a bunch of people who've never seen SNL yelling at SNL and then acting like SNL is ignoring some cultural zeitgeist.
Huh, I didn't know this. the 'R' rating in the US is 17 and up can go alone. While in Canada it is 14A, so 14 and up can see it without an adult :v:

That would be so awesome.

14A? Do other provinces not have the R rating?
Boy, people weren't kidding about taking children to Deadpool. Yesterday, I was going to see it (before the theater lost power), there was a mother leaving with her kids and telling an employee that Deadpool "should have had some restrictions." And when I finally saw it tonight at the 10:00 showing, there were still a bunch of kids. I can't remember if any of them left, but quite a few stayed. Luckily they weren't annoying, by far the most annoying person in the theater was this one guy sitting in my row laughing hysterically at everything. Even if the joke was a bit of a miss and everyone else was silent he'd be cackling. I say annoying, but really it wasn't that bad. Didn't ruin anything for me.
Although deep down, I kept wondering what it would have been like if there were real squibs in the movie. I would have enjoyed it more, I think.
What does an R rating entail in America? In the UK it was rated a Fifteen, and nobody younger than Fifteen is allowed in to see it (unless they sneak in). It sounds like in America an R is Twelve-A, where people below that age can see it if accompanied by an adult.
If I'm not mistaken, R is 17+, under requiring a guardian.
In France, Deadpool was restricted to 12yo+. We use 18+ for porn and 16+ for erotic movies and gore, basically.
Deadpool wasn't considered gore in France?
Deadpool wasn't considered gore in France?
ahah that wasn't gore.

Oh you poor American souls...
I attended a panel with Fabian Nicieza (co-creator of Deadpool) who talked about the film at a length.
- He thinks it's weird that people wanted a rated-R Deadpool movie when Deadpool doesn't say curse words or do really gory violence in the comics.
- He finds it more weird that kids are also into Deadpool (the Lego games are mentioned).
- He likes that the Deadpool film is more "realistic" rather than "going back in time and fighting Hitler" because it's like the early comics.
- He didn't expect Deadpool to have grown this large.
- He attending an early screening of Green Lantern that also has people from the movie and comic industry; and when he and his comic book creator friend (forgot his name) left first, they decided to wait out in the hallway to see everyone's horrified reactions.
- He thinks the Deadpool movie is kickass.
- Deadpool 2 will set up the X-Force, but he wished it was set up through X-Men (like the comics). Cable will be its link to the X-Force films.
- He hopes that Deadpool 2 will be a much larger adventure that also has Cable's other teammates, like Domino.
Cable & Deadpool movie co-starring Domino?
Oh fuck yes please.
I don't super duper understand what Domino is supposed to do.
Her mutation is that she's lucky?

She manipulates probability fields.
AKA she's supernaturally lucky and can cause shit to happen in her favor.
6 years ago I was only vaguely aware of Deadpool.
Now I've heard EVERYBODY talking about him. He's probably on track to become one of the most recognisable super heroes to a non-comic audience (along with Spiderman, Hulk, Iron Man and Cap).
Before Iron Man 2008 I was only aware of Hulk and the original Thor and Loki. I don't read comics as I'm dyslexic.

People have been saying that since the 90s. It's cyclic and you should enjoy it while it lasts.
