Any predictions on how much this movie makes? I would laugh if it makes less than a million in the opening week
I don't recall if it's been mentioned in this thread but apparently Fantfourstic is only 99 minutes long, credits included. http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/fantastic-four-film
Apparently, this is because most of the second act was cut from the film, according to people who have seen it. [editline]4th August 2015[/editline]
Any predictions on how much this movie makes? I really hope we get a hype intro to Spider-Man in the MCU. Like, everybody knows who he is. Everybody knows what he does. I want no buildup whatsoever. Just a big crazy fight, then suddenly *THWIP*, THERE HE FUCKING IS. I would shit inside of my pants. Marvel has got one shot to introduce Spider-Man for the first time. Something where we look back on it YEARS from now with the same feeling we get when Darth Vader or Indiana Jones steps onscreen for the first time. An "OH MAN, HERE HE COMES. THERE HE IS. OH JESUS."

Oh god, Transformers 2 levels of shitty? It's worse then I thought.

And one with a short Deadpool teaser in the end[sp]because someone might go see F4 for just a trailer, right? Right?! Guys?!?![/sp]
this may be worse than 2003 hulk and damn, that's bad

Yet if this latest version, with a significantly younger cast (one’s tempted to call it “Fantastic Four High”), clears that threshold, it’s just barely, drawing from a different source to reimagine the quartet’s origins without conspicuously improving them. All told, the movie feels like a protracted teaser for a more exciting follow-up that, depending on whether audiences warm to this relatively low-key approach, might never happen.
And a third
But whatever strengths Fantastic Four has, it does not feel like a movie directed by Trank (who made such a striking debut with 2012's bold anti-superhero fable Chronicle) or for that matter by anyone. It's a muddled and underdeveloped origin story which segues jarringly from light-hearted adventure to heavy-handed grit, grasping for a gravitas that it hasn't earned. That first quote might be my favourite review for a movie ever.
That first quote might be my favourite review for a movie ever.
It's a paraphrase of Roger Ebert's legendary review for the film Armageddon.
Here it is at last, the first 150-minute trailer. "Armageddon" is cut together like its own highlights. Take almost any 30 seconds at random, and you'd have a TV ad. The movie is an assault on the eyes, the ears, the brain, common sense and the human desire to be entertained. No matter what they're charging to get in, it's worth more to get out.
What the fuck is wrong with those people. Why can't we get solid and true to the comics Dr Doom?! Fantastic Dogshit. I'm glad to hear, fuck the guy who thought '99 is the rating it should get'. I'm so glad this movie is bad, it was doomed from the casting announcement to now.
It's a paraphrase of Roger Ebert's legendary review for the film Armageddon.
My personal favorite Ebert quote is from his review of North (skip to 1:15): Also, I'm surprised just how BADLY F4 is being received. Like, I expected something of ASM quality; kinda shit, but not unbearable, enough to sadly keep the rights away from Marvel for another half a decade. But nope, this one apparently just sucks shit. Here's hoping it bombs at the box office too so that they can just give the rights back already and we can get fucking Doom in the MCU.

Okay, okay, you got me with that one, I kinda like that one.
Shall we begin to plot how the Fantastic Four can be integrated into the MCU? :v: I'm surprised thus far the reviews are unanimous in their negativity; I expected mixed reviews at best.

Then they return to Earth with superpowers and fight Mole Man. Set up Dr Doom in some flashbacks. Have the stinger of him trying on his still red hot mask.

from a redditor (also I use to have a Thing mask when the movie came out, I used it to scare my cousins alot before my their mother grabbed it and threw it out the window) [sp]Just saw it at a preview screening in the UK. Full disclosure: I wasn't that hyped to see the film and thought it looked very generic from the trailers. Little did I know that it's actually a lot worse than the trailers and the 2005 version is somehow better. The Good: The acting is much better than the film deserves. The guy who played Sue/Johnny's dad was the best by far. The Bad: The tone is all over the place. There's more humour than the trailer implied but it's also quite brutal at times, especially when they transform and also when Doom goes on a killing spree near the end. Michael B Jordan doesn't show up for the first 25% of the film Characters are off screen for fucking AGES at a time and it's really noticeable, not sure if reshoots may have had a hand in this. The team aren't really all together as a unit much until the end of the film. The only reason they go to the other dimension is because Reed, Doom and Johnny get drunk. Seriously. It is awful and people will probably be talking about how shitty this set-up is for years. They don't get transformed into superheroes until half-way through the film. Seriously. The CGI of the accident scene is WANK. There's a very sudden time jump of 1 year roughly an hour into the film that feels like it was tacked on in reshoots Doom doesn't show up until the final 20 minutes of the film and his screen time is only about 15 minutes. Oh and he looks like some sort of Downs Syndrome sock puppet, just awful. The final set-piece doesn't make much sense at all, I was very confused by the logic of what was happening. It has really really long credits which I assume was to paper over the fact it's been cobbled together badly in the editing room. EDIT: Someone also noted that some scenes from the trailers are missing (like Thing jumping out of the plane). I can only assume they were casualties of the struggle to salvage this mess. Oh and Johnny talks about Instagram while he's in the parallel dimension. Fuck this movie. 3.5/10. I'll be around for a few hours so feel free to ask me anything[/sp]
I'm actually kinda impressed with how bad it sounds. When this was first announced I thought it be hard to make a bad fantastic four movie considering the two pieces of crap we were given but here I am proven wrong, bravo fox you did it again.

Because I can't find the review online :v: But I really can't wait to see what they do with introducing Spiderman. If it's going to be like an automatic intro with him taunting one of the avengers in a fight, showing that he can go on par or even take them out.
i'm not even gonna lie [sp]the last two FF films are a slight guilty pleasure of mine. don't get me wrong, they are absolutely awful films, but they captured the visuals really well imo apart from galactus, and i'm annoyed that we didn't get a third film to bring back doom and possibly some other big villain. i was also completely fine with the casting and loved that they made sue storm a complete joke because it was jessica alba and not an actress that could be taken seriously. and the thing was a costume, not a cgi gimmick. serious props there.[/sp]
