I'm probably wrong, but I think Ron Perlman would be good as Cable, he's already got the hair: I can at least see him in a Deadpool movie:
Yeah Perlman would be ace but I wouldn't mind Lang. Hair and beefiness can be added to any actor. At this rate by the time we see Cable on screen Perlman would be pushing 70. I know Cable's representation has never been accurate but for the most part I've seen him as late 47 - 57. Granted Lang isn't much different in age but at least we'd get another film or two out of Lang before he starts to look old.
I guess age is the issue with Perlman, my issue with Lang is I just haven't seen him do anything that would that really seems like it would work in a Deadpool movie, Lang just seems out of place as Deadpool's team mate. It's like casting Bryan Cranston as Magneto. If you guys can throw up any links that would suggest that Lang would fit the role, but thus far I just don't see it based on his work.

That's not what I'm getting at at all, I'm just saying, based on his performances, Lang just doesn't seem to fit. He does look like a bit like the thinner version of Cable, but that's about as close as he seems. If you think he'd be good in the role, tell me why, what am I missing?
This Venom is meant to not only stand on its own but to also launch its own franchise.
GODFUCKING DAMMIT NO! How about you shitlords focus on making a good movie first before you start talking about building franchises? You pulled that bullshit with Amazing Spider-Man and look where that got you!

God fucking dammit. I really doubt they can do Venom properly. I want them to, and I want just the one film before they run it into the ground.
Wouldn't Marvel have a finger in it, or is that just for Spiderman himself?
Hopefully Marvel has some say in the direction of Venom. I was really hoping to see symbiotes in the MCU.
let's all just hope the venom movie tanks so that sony gives it to marvel, then we can get the black spider-man outfit AND superior iron man.
let's all just hope the venom movie tanks so that sony gives it to marvel, then we can get the black spider-man outfit AND superior iron man.
Or hope that its part of the Spider-Man deal and they'll actually make a good movie.
The article says it won't have anything to do with the Tom Holland Spider-Man reboot. So apparently they're going to try to do Venom without Spider-Man. Or cast yet another actor in the role. There's no way this will end well.
I can just imagine Kevin Feige sitting in a meeting with some Sony execs, his head in his hands as he tries to explain just how bad of an idea a Venom movie RIGHT NOW is.
Or just sitting there smiling, hoping that it fails and Sony just gives up and hands them back all the rights, full stop
People are always going to connect Venom to Spiderman. If Venom does bad, there could be some bad taste that gravitates to Spiderman, which could bring that same bad taste to the MCU. I just don't see why Sony has to rush these things. Let Spiderman introduce the symbiotes, and make them a major thing in the MCU.
But why would they do that.
Two words: Tom Rothman
Waitwaitwait, so they only have Spiderman back but not all the other Spiderman characters? I thought the characters Marvel leased to other studios were in packages, and that getting rights to a character meant they had other characters in the associated package included.

I just meant I had assumed they were sharing all of the Spiderman cast/etc and not just Spiderman himself.
Two words: Tom Rothman
No, two words: Avi Arad.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's just a cameo. Bowie was even lined up to cameo in GOTG2
Wouldn't be surprised if it's just a cameo. Bowie was even lined up to cameo in GOTG2
That would have been so fucking awesome :(
Zendaya has joined the Spider-Man reboot as neither Gwen Stacy or Mary Jane. And Marisa Tomei is Aunt May. So I'm totally unfamiliar with her work apart from some proactive commercials, so I don't have a clue how this is going to turn out. And is it just me or is Aunt May getting younger and younger? Rosemary Harris was in her 70s in the Raimi movies, Sally Field her 60s, and now Marisa Tomei in her 50s. Has her age changed in the comics? Either way, doesn't matter because Marisa Tomei is awesome.
Next reboot, Aunt May's gonna be a MILF.
